I got this kit 6 months ago! Still having a blast with it! I prefer it over my tinyhawk 3!! Handles wind much better! If you mod the pigtail to xt30 and run it 3s it rips pretty good! Take care! Rad videos! Thanks

I have both the betafpv kit and the GepRC kit, and I can confirm, they are identical box goggles. Also, the controller is brutal. Also, the receiver is S-fhss, and does not bind to the multi-protocol module in the radio master tx16s. I've since purchased a frsky d8 receiver, so that I can bind it with my proper radio.
I've watched 2 of your videos about the tiny RTF FPV quads. You make it so simple to understand. Of all the content I've watched, yours has been my favorite.
My friend gave me 5 RTF tinyhawk kits to get me started. To me they feel cheap and hard to fly. Maybe I should just stick to those until I gain the experience to move up?

Hey Joshua! Just wanted to point out that IMO the Tinyhawk2 kit is better than the Tinyhawk kit. Just because of all the flaws the TH (V1) had.
Also, I agree: Slightly larger whoops are easier to learn on than a 65mm. Nice video and great review as always!
My perfect starter quad was my little mantis85 with flysky i6, cheap enough and got me hooked..👍 now on everything and anything on jumper T16 pro.
Good note: I bought this kit and it now comes with a similar remote except that it uses ELRS , has a replaceable antenna, can connect to your computer via Bluetooth, has very smooth gimbals, and can work with 4s or an included battery tray for two 18650 batteries. It was a very pleasant surprise! Now that I’m getting more familiar with things, I’m going to switch the drone over to a walksnail mini 1s lite as a pocket size cruiser and save the loris for a more acro or race build. Glad the roomy frame can accommodate the upgraded video.

I feel like the proprietary RX's really make this a deal breaker. It sucks to invest in something you know you'll one day replace.
...Something you know you’ll have to replace next quad. + goggles & remote have no resale value when you break the quad. That said, I’m sure it will be gr8 for some.
I'm not currently into FPV but any real hobby is money you will probably never get back. I currently have 4 drones, 2 cheap ones $200 and 2 mid level over $500. This kit looks like a great start.
@@chill62751 I really wouldn't agree. Your ground kit is one of the few things in FPV you don't have to replace often, especially the controller. I think any of the other ready to fly kits are better than this one. Or heck you could buy a mobula6 HD, the betafpv controller and some good box goggles for a similar price and have an HD whoop that's way better than this kit.
Interesting video. I'm guessing you switched between the digital recording and the actual signal to the goggles here n there, as the one is way clearer than the other. I LOVE LOVE your yard and neighborhood! Another product I can't decide on, as the emax goggles have that removeable screen/monitor, as I have no idea if I could handle goggles to start with, as you know, the emax one can be removed and mounted on the transmitter.
I got this kit because I’m a newbie, I soldered in an ELRS receiver and fly it with a TX16S. I adjusted some settings in Beta Flight for my specific likes, and for the price, I’m content. HOWEVER, since I’m still technically a newb, is there some antennas you would recommend for the box goggles to improve them until I can get a little deeper in debt?
I just bought this. It has an updated radio that runs on 2 18650 batteries or a 2s lipo. Some internals got upgraded too i think.
I have that kit, or better said had. Rebuild it with the new Geprc with ELRS on board and run it with a TX12 MK2 and bought the Skyzone Sky04l to replace the goggles. Having alot of fun with it, building and flying.

2 questions, has your transmitter yanked the negative off the throttle gimbal yet? On my 9th flight it happened to me.. I fixed it but I also got a TX16S. So, second question, can you bind this thing to a TX16S?
So this was all on the 4k version. How does the 1080 P hold up? I don’t need crystal clear picture recording I just want to be able to look at it later or use it to help me find where I lost it

Thanks Joshua I’ll need your help I want to get into FPV flying. I’ve been advised that I should get on the simulator get a cheap transmitter receiver and learn how to fly that way first but that’s not me. I’ve been flying for about 3 years an my first drone was the holy Stone HS 170 great drone to learn how to fly on but nothing with FPV I definitely wanna fly outside to learn so I want a drone that would be I guess plug-and-play very durable so hopefully I wouldn’t be repairing it or maybe not that often hopefully, I want it to have good reception not something where you go around your house or down the street and the reception breaks up and looks like crap so It would have to have good antennas on the drone as well as the goggles an a good controller transmitter? I really like the BNF 4” flyWood freestyle HD drone an the QX7 or TX16S Radiomaster transmitter and maybe DJI goggles would be my top choice I just don’t wanna buy 1000 different parts to get to my end goal of professional equipment so what do you think I know I have to learn FPV first I just don’t want to buy a bunch of stuff that I’m not gonna need or want soon any thoughts?

Hey I was wondering can I use these goggles with my blade scimitar 170 ? My buddy just gave me the drone without the radio or goggles so I didn't k it if I need to hut new goggles or just upgrade the antenna? Thanks
From the looks of it, those goggles are completely identical to my beta fpv ones apart from the head strap. Good Goggle’s except for the battery doesn’t last too long per charge
This is a common headset sold on Amazon. I bought a pair years ago. They were quite comfortable but my Fatshark Tele[porert V3's that were much older were a better experience. The USB connector is difficult to reach and they seem to run at a really low frame rate. I was not a fan of them.
Do you think I could upgrade the receiver to FrSky R-XSR and use the tinygo with tx16s?
Obviously with the GEPRC-specific FC and transmitter, this kit isn't ideal to recommend as a starter kit that someone could get a good "feel" for flying, and if they want to go further could "grow around" - upgrading components as they go (and as budget allows). IE: Replace the transmitter with a nicer one, then in a few months replace the goggles, then "graduate" to a more powerful quad, etc...
Is the Tinyhawk/Tinyhawk 2 RTF kit still the king of that department? It feels like the brushless drone is the standout there. BetaFPV has a better transmitter, Newbeedrone has a more versatile goggle/display (but no diversity), but both of the drones seem somewhat lackluster in comparison.
Hey guys. I have been flying my Tinygo for about 9 months. I have the 4k version. Love it. I have even upgraded to a better receiver so I can fly it using my TX16S. I have a question about the SD card port in the drone. Although I have put a 32 gb sd card in the drone, it is not recording to the SD card. I can get my goggles to record, but not on the drone's SD card. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try to get the drone's DVR to record?
Whit the kit i saw that there is something like a small "card" to be connected with the drone. What's that for?

So I've crashed mine into a puddle and the video signal is no more (still control the drone but only getting OSD in the goggles). I'm looking to get the ProTek25 which comes without receiver. Can I take the receiver off the TinyGo and attach it to the ProTek and use the controller and goggles with that drone instead? I just don't want to have to fork out for a new controller and goggles as well as a new drone right now.
I was thinking about buying this quad or the Eachine& ATOMRC Seagull, which one do you recommend of the two?

For an absolute beginner the Betafpv advanced kit is the best. Everything works well, No betaflight bs to worry about. but once you get good and want to mess with betaflight you can just upgrade the quad to a emax tinyhawk freestyle 2 n it all works together. that would be plenty of quad for a beginner.
What’s the difference with advance kit and Cetus?

You should check out the eachine novice II V2, i've bought it, and the drone is amazing, and it's pretty good price wise for an all in one kit i got it for about 140$ on sale (but maybe the googles could be better)
Does the radio have USB and work with PC/liftoff/Sims etc? That's why I got the betaFPV, so I can use the radio with liftoff before I graduate to the "real thing". Strikes me as a big beginner selling point. Being also able to learn on a sim with a real radio.

Great review! bought the kit! Can someone recommend good extra batteries? Should I buy additional GEPRC ones (kinda hard to get at the moment) or can I just put in BetaFPV ones - or will they not fit the holder at the bottom? I'm new to this if someone could explain what the difference is for the drone between the C rating, the HV, the 2 x 1S setup compared to 1 x 2s as others have?

Geeze I started flying drones a few years ago I started with drone from Target that's had three models starter, moderate and camera drone... Fley the heck out of it so I moved up to the DJI phantom 4 pro V2!!! I've been told camera drones give you bad hibits and the learning cure is tremendous... That being said... Gep,Cetus,beta,tinyhawk and probably more I haven't seen yet lol!!! Is there a rtf kits that lets you improve the equipment as you learn with out switch to a different brand? Any help on making a good a choice would be great!!!

Received my Tinygo 4k yesterday 5.11.21 . They didn't send me antennas.. power cord or video cord. The Box goggles are stuck on blue AV screen. and the camera now doesn't work or send signal to the box goggles. Waited a month and slightly disappointed. I hope Geprc can help fix this problem with some great customer service. Guess I'll have to just purchase some upgraded Antennas. It arrived pretty fast I guess , me being in Hawaii we get everything late.

The goggle is the same from BetaFpV the VR01 and it is not working for people they are faresight
then you have to cut the goggle behind the lense and extend the goggle housing for about 5cm. That has worked for me. And last but not least the Receiver inside the goggle is scrap (it is only one modul with two antennas), but you can desolder it and solder three wire + - and signal for conect an other Receiver Modul with higher sensitivity.
If you like Box Goggles and if you have no problem with faresight eyes then it is a good base for build a very nice FPV Google by update the Receiver with a AKK oder TBS Fusion.

After a good amount of crashes I lost video, I thought it was the Lori's board and got a new one, the video came back for a bit and then I replugged the battery to fly after replacement and now video is gone? Anyone know if it's the antenna or do I need a new camera or cable

I got both plastic part to hold the battery wich are broken, just tried to glue it... Still think that it will not solve the problem. I don't know if i can have any other solution to hold the batteries in case this doesn't work... Just entered FPV since less than 48h... Hope to have help from the community

I basically broke the lense of my tinygo 4k, is there's an easy way to replace the glass? Or do I need to replace the whole camera system? Am I oblige to get the same model of camera, I think it was the caddx baby turtle, if you guys know if I can put a cheaper one, I don't think I need a 4k camera as I'm sure it will break again. I was thinking to add an ND lense maybe it will protect more next time.

Hi. saw your video and learned the command for rxrange to delimit points. I have a problem, my drone after update, is not flying, when I turn it on, it activates the engines and jumps like in turtle mode. I noticed that in betaflight the yaw control is at the maximum 2000, I already put the old firmware and it was the same. In the control tab, the drone is rotating and the yaw on 2000. how to configure it to be in the middle (1500)? And also on the PID tab, all the commands go from 0 deg/s- 667 deg/s, when I turn on the radio the yaw goes from 0 to 667deg, while the others remain at 0 deg

This is a great starter kit. Over all with the RTF components are they the best? No. but together they are better then the competition s packages. Out of the box the video rivals Fat Shark scout googles. Remember Josh is a pro, he’s honest “an OK learner ,ok cruiser”. Sure if your a 5” ripper this looks like trash but to a 100% noob you might be buying something not upgradable but that will get you in FPV at a reasonable price and if you can afford the 4 k then why not? I love mine. I added antenna upgrades to quad and googles very impressed on range. Way more then you need for a micro quad.

Question: 1S vs 2S, it sounds like the tinyGo can do either? If so, do you just put in one battery and go or do you need to change something between 1S vs 2S? I don't see any documentation to clarify that.
I think you'd need to change the connections. The existing ones require 2 batteries. If you were going to change this to a 2s then you'd need to change the wiring so it only had one lot of connections otherwise it doesn't create a circuit

WEll i wish i had seen that review 3 weeks ago.... This is my first fpv, i was super eager and o boy am i disappointed massive mistake for me in buying this drone. You did a great review and i must say i love your chanel i do learn a lot ! One thing you didn't mention and i think really is missing is a usb connector, this is my first drone experience and i really wished i had seen the beta fpv kit the controller does permit usb c-connection and use with a sim. But all this are details they are not what really is at fault here, the bad part is the customer service from gerpc. i did order the 279 4k loris added 30 usd for dhl delivery..... well after a about 10 days of no news i wrote to them, they apologised and told me that my order would get processed... after again not hearing from then i have rewrote to them, turns out i had to add 30 usd more for delivery oooooook at that stage i should have known but i did gave them a benefit of the doubt! so i said you know what i ll buy 6 more batteries i ll use em added another 30 usd for shipping! after being promised al would be sent together i waited... few days door rang i was finally delivered. well turned ot they had only sent the drone the batteries had not be sent.. and out of the 4 batteries i get with the ddrone there was only 3..... yaaaaay. Well despite all this i enjoy learning to control lift off and controlling despite only being able to fly for 4 min.... well it doesn't stop here today broke my first prop only to realise they haven't packed the prop removal tool so now i m stuck with broken prop.... my advise at this stage geprc is incompetent and honestly should have got myself a cheap controller, box and a tiny whoop i probably would have saved quite a bit of money and time and i could grow with my kit where as with this i am stuck ....
Yeah, what all the youtubers forget to mention is the shit quality control and customer service of almost all of the quad manufacturers. They of course dont notice this, as anything sent to them is probably double checked. I received broken items from almost anyone I ordered quad parts to date (BetaFPV, etc..). You build up a tolerance.. I just wish the youtubers would call them out ...

It should bind to anything that uses FrSky D8 protocol.

I got mine 2 weeks ago i have been waiting for you to do a video on it ...and there are 3 version but its exactly like the normal analog but with led lights .... I love love love mine even if i crashed mine and the camera and the canopy exploded 100% my fault and its hella fast
