- Hi all! Today I am comparing two shades of the About Face Beauty The Performer Foundation. I recently reviewed this foundation and have really enjoyed it. However I have found that my initial shade pick to perhaps be a tad too warm for me. I decided to compare it to a slight lighter shade in the neutral range and see which I prefer. Hi all! Today I am trying the brand Florasis for the first time. They were kind enough to send me their new Nomadic Glam Collection eyeshadow palette as well as one of the blushes, and lipsticks. Thank you for making this video! I've been having such a hard time with finding a foundation match too. When I go with a lighter shade I feel like it makes me look a little unwell, but with my deeper foundations I end up not matching my neck once I get bronzer and everything else on. I might just be in denial about what my true winter shade is lol. Either way you make both these shades look beautiful!
MD1 for sure! Matching our brown skin is hard bc we are so many different variations across our faces. The lighter one matches the center of your face but looks pretty ashy on the rest of it, esp by the jaw/neck. In no world would I match you to that one lol.
I got F2 because of the olive undertones! I was so excited to see a foundation I didn't need to add pigment mixers to adjust! I can't weigh in on the medium deep ranges because I'm not in that range, but I love hearing your reviews. We have similar skin types and preferences so I'm here for it!!
I definitely understand liking both sides for different reasons being medium/ medium-deep melanated as well. We actually overlap in tones (I definitely use you as a skintone reference) but I veer a tad more olive. I bought the med olive and med/deep olive in this foundation (there was some sale) and had a similar experience. And I think it just boils down to preference. I don’t like an overly warm foundation in the middle of my face, I prefer the look of the warmth being on the perimeter and mimicking the natural dimensions of my face , so I use the more true to skin tone one strategically closer to middle. Similar to how you described wearing them moving forward. In general, I do find it some times pretty challenging, because I always feel like I’m in between or if I just mix two it would be perfect. But I don’t always want two. That being said, both sides read beautifully on screen and you’ll be fully covered going into the summer!
I think this is the major issue for most people with our skin tone. I am always slightly in between shades and you don’t always want to go super warm.
They both look good. This foundation is on my radar.
I agree the left side looks like your true skin shade. Yes they both look really good . The md1 neutral can be a summer shade.
