To the Muslims claiming I’m wrong for using the word “rape” in the video, as the Islamic Sources didn’t actually use the word “rape”. My response is: well I could have used the words “sexual assault” but I chose “rape” for the following reasons. Think about it, there is more than one way to rape a woman. A woman could be physically forced to have sex or she could be psychologically forced to have sex due to some kind of traumatic circumstances, similar to the women whom I mentioned in my video. Women who had been taken as war captives, women who had witnessed the horrors of battle, women who had just witnessed their husbands being defeated in war by Muslim soldiers, women who were worrying about the safety of their husbands who themselves had been taken captive. Ibn Katheer in his commentary on the Qur’an stated these Muslim soldiers wanted to have sex with these female captives. Perhaps these women had heard about those evil plans? Just imagine what they were going through? In this kind of situation starting a new marriage life with strange enemy soldiers would be the last thing such women would desire. Listen, I’m no psychologist, but common sense dictates that in a situation like that such women would have been emotionally or physiologically incapacitated. Such female victims of Islamic Jihad would be incapable of giving any sane honest consent to have sexual intercourse with any man other than her already existing husband. So there you have it, now you know why I used the word “rape” in my video. I believe it accurately describes the situation. When you force a divorce upon a terrified physiologically incapacitated woman and then you try to marry her to have sex with her, than I say that such a sexual encounter is not a valid marriage at all, but is basically rape. You don't need to say the word "rape" to convey the same meaning.

One thing I just can't understand is why so many people would say a man with a 6 year old wife is a good man. I see Muslim people every day when I walk to and from school and inside I'm wondering that. I don't hate anyone. Half of my family are middle eastern. My mom is a christian from Egypt. It broke my heart to hear that 95% of women from Egypt have had female genital mutilation. People say that's not a muslim thing because it predates Islam. But most of the women in Islamic countries have been mutilated. If I question why people would support these things I am dismissed as a racist or bigot. Honestly I don't have hatred in my heart for anyone. It just baffles me that people can support a pedophile with so much love and devotion. Why would they mutilate their daughters? Here you go. He deliberately ignored the below:
1 - Safiyah was given a choice by Muhammad to either remain a Jew and he would free her so she could return to her people, or that she becomes a Muslim and he would marry her. She, herself, chose to be become a Muslim and be married to the Prophet.
2 - The Prophet did not seek her out because of her beauty nor did he even know about her until one of the Muslim soldiers approached him and told him that he should take her as she was the daughter of the Chief of her people.
3 - The Prophet did not purchase her on the slave trade. She was one of the war captives. One of the soldiers took her as part of his share of the war booty which the Prophet later revoked as she was the daughter of the tribe’s Chief and worth much more than the other captives. By marryimg her he was honoring the defeated tribe as was common at the time.
4 - Her previous husband was far from being a good man, he beat her and she still had a black eye when she was brought before the Prophet. The reason why her previous husband beat her is because she had had a dream that she would marry the Prophet, she told it to her husband and he beat her. She told this story when she first met the Prophet and he asked about her “black eye”, it was then that he gave her the choice of remaining a Jew and her freedom or becoming Muslim and marrying him, she chose the latter.
5 - Her father (and husband) were from the most violent opponents and enemies of the Prophet and he stirred up the Arabs to attack the Muslims.
6 - The man who was killed for concealing part of his wealth had already made a pact of surrender with the Muslim army that included as a point of surrender that any who concealed his wealth would be killed. As for the torture before he was killed, I have no idea about that.

لما دخلت صفية على النبي، صلى الله عليه وسلم، وسلم قال لها: لم يزل أبوك من أشد يهود لي عداوة حتى قتله الله. فقالت: يا رسول الله إن الله يقول في كتابه ولا تزر وازرة وزر أخرى. فقال: لها رسول الله: اختاري، فإن اخترت الإسلام أمسكتك لنفسي وإن اخترت اليهودية فعسى أن أعتقك فتلحقي بقومك. فقالت: يا رسول الله لقد هويت الإسلام وصدقت بك قبل أن تدعوني حيث صرت إلى رحلك وما لي في اليهودية أرب وما لي فيها والد ولا أخ، وخيرتني الكفر والإسلام فالله ورسوله أحب إلي من العتق وأن أرجع إلى قومي When Safiya came to the Holy Prophet (pbuh), he said to her; ‘Among the Jews your father did not stop in his enmity towards me until Allah destroyed him.’ She said: ‘O Allah’s Messenger! Indeed Allah says in His book, ‘No one will take anyone else’s burden’. So the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said to her: ‘Make your choice, if you will chose Islam I’ll select you for myself (marry you) and if you chose Judaism, I’ll set you free and send you to your people.’ She said; ‘O Allah’s Messenger indeed I longed for Islam and testified for you even before you gave me this invitation when I came to you. I have no guardian among the Jews, neither father nor brother and I prefer Islam over disbelief. Allah and His Messenger are dear to me then freedom and to return to my people.” (Ibn Saad 8/123)
In another narration the Prophet said to her: "You have the option, if you choose Islam I will marry you and take you to my house. And if you choose to remain a Jewess I will set you free and return you to your family. She said: "O' Prophet of Allah! I admired Islam and believed in you before you called me to Islam and became one of the Muslims. I have no interest in Judaism as well as I have no father or brother in it, and you gave me a choice between Judaism and freedom, and Islam, so Allah and his Messenger are more beloved and dearer to me than freedom and going back to my people." So the daughter of the King chose the Prophet and he married her”
فَأَصَبْنَاهَا عَنْوَةً فَجُمِعَ السَّبْيُ فَجَاءَ دِحْيَةُ الْكَلْبِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ أَعْطِنِي جَارِيَةً مِنْ السَّبْيِ قَالَ اذْهَبْ فَخُذْ جَارِيَةً فَأَخَذَ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ حُيَيٍّ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ أَعْطَيْتَ دِحْيَةَ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ حُيَيٍّ سَيِّدَةَ قُرَيْظَةَ وَالنَّضِيرِ لَا تَصْلُحُ إِلَّا لَكَ قَالَ ادْعُوهُ بِهَا فَجَاءَ بِهَا فَلَمَّا نَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ خُذْ جَارِيَةً مِنْ السَّبْيِ غَيْرَهَا قَالَ فَأَعْتَقَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَتَزَوَّجَهَا فَقَالَ لَهُ ثَابِتٌ يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ مَا أَصْدَقَهَا قَالَ نَفْسَهَا أَعْتَقَهَا وَتَزَوَّجَهَا حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بِالطَّرِيقِ جَهَّزَتْهَا لَهُ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ فَأَهْدَتْهَا لَهُ مِنْ اللَّيْلِ فَأَصْبَحَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَرُوسًا فَقَالَ مَنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ شَيْءٌ فَلْيَجِئْ بِهِ وَبَسَطَ نِطَعًا فَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَجِيءُ بِالتَّمْرِ وَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَجِيءُ بِالسَّمْنِ قَالَ وَأَحْسِبُهُ قَدْ ذَكَرَ السَّوِيقَ قَالَ فَحَاسُوا حَيْسًا فَكَانَتْ وَلِيمَةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
"We conquered Khaibar, took the captives, and the booty was collected. Dihya came and said, 'O Allah's Prophet! Give me a slave girl from the captives.' The Prophet said, 'Go and take any slave girl.' He took Safiya bint Huyai. A man came to the Prophet and said, 'O Allah's Messenger! You gave Safiya bint Huyai to Dihya and she is the chief mistress of the tribes of Quraiza and An-Nadir and she befits none but you.' So the Prophet said, 'Bring him along with her.' So Dihya came with her and when the Prophet saw her, he said to Dihya, 'Take any slave girl other than her from the captives.' Anas added: The Prophet then manumitted her and married her." Thabit asked Anas, "O Abu Hamza! What did the Prophet pay her (as Mahr)?" He said, "Her self (i.e. freedom) was her Mahr (dower) for he manumitted her and then married her." Anas added, "While on the way, Um Sulaim dressed her for marriage (ceremony) and at night she sent her as a bride to the Prophet. So the Prophet was a bridegroom and he said, 'Whoever has anything (food) should bring it.' He spread out a leather sheet (for the food) and some brought dates and others cooking butter. (I think he (Anas) mentioned As-Sawiq). So they prepared a dish of Hais (a kind of meal). And that was Walima (the marriage banquet) of Allah's Messenger (pbuh)." (Bukhari, Hadith 358)

She saw in her dream that a sun came into her lap. She mentioned it before her husband. He said; ‘By Allah you do not wish for anyone except the King who has come upon us.’ Allah’s Messenger conquered Khyber and her husband was killed. From that time (of dream) she loved that the Prophet (pbuh) may marry her.

I like how many Muslims living in the West describe my leaving Islam as a "deconversion", while the Muslims living in Muslim countries call it an evil "apostasy". Interesting.
If Muslims had "a right" to try to kill those enemies, they also had "a right" to try to kill those who helped those enemies fight them, in this case the wives of those enemies. Instead, Muslims enslaved those women and only had consensual sex with them. Those women were adults who chose to help those enemies fight Muslims and then have sex with their captors. You do not know what those women thought or felt, but even if you did, if the genders were reversed, would you say the same thing? You seem male-chauvinistic. The Quran and authentic hadiths ban Muslims from raping/sexually assaulting/forcing themselves on anyone/anything and order Muslims to kill those who do it. You do not deserve to be hurt or killed by Muslims for leaving Islam, but you are a liar and likely faking having been a Muslim if it took you as long as it did to know about these verses and narrations after supposedly studying and following Islam as much as you say.

Quran is against slavery, and having "consensual" sex with a captive makes it zina/adultery. Quran is against this. The women are innocent, unless they take up weapons themselves then you have the right to defend yourself against them if they are the oppressors.

@@balumeikle8667 i dont know the meaning of concubines, so imma assume it means female slaves. in arabic, there are three arabic terms one needs to know, 'Amah' (a female slave); 'Milkul Yameen' (Posesions of the right hand' and 'Ummul Walad' (a mother of a child). once you marry an amah, islam orders one to give them the same status of a wife. i repeat, you as a slave get the same status of a wife and half the punishments of a free woman. the source is Surah Al-Nisa. an ummul-walad get her own house, her own food, and she is even given mehr (dowry given by the husband to the wife) upon marrying. moreover, she no longer carries the title of a slave, bro. just look at ibrahim pbuh. muslims call his slave wife 'mother hajar.' you know why so? because a prophet's wife is the spiritual mother of the believers who cares for them. noticed why i said a 'slave' upon marrying the status of a 'wife' earlier?

About what this guy says (I do not know his name).. You have to ask when is a Muslim allowed to fight in a war first.
You are not allowed to attack people if they do not attack you first and are being hostile towards you. If they do not attack you (try to kill you or harm you/torture you), boycott you (not allow you basic human needs such as food or water), drive you out of your home, take away your children, you are not allowed to start a war!
You are not allowed to attack monks that are in their places of worship, women, children, the elder, the sick. You are not allowed to fight people that are not armed and involved in battle!
If people are that hostile and decide to attack Muslims injustly you must of course in the end (after the war has ended )take the one that remained alive hostages. You can't just leave them be with their family like nothing happened. If they were so evil from the start to attack you just for being Muslim, they would gather strenght and attack you again!!

It says that a relationship with them is permitted but you have to take responsability over them such as with a wife, take care of the children like you take care of your own, feed them with what you eat and give them from what you dress yourself with (same quality). It never says to be hostile and evil.

Despite being born in a Muslim family, I was always doubtful, had serious reservations, objections and questions which were never answered by any Muslim scholar satisfactorily. Hence I left Islam 20 years back. Now I am 52 and regret why I couldn't leave Islam in my teenage. May be due to fear of Allah and the torture supposedly to be given in Hell for leaving Islam.
Look at it this way - the Allah you left was Mohammed who recited stories that we Christians know to be false tales told over camp fires. Allah was never seen or heard in the days of ignorance nor for Mohammed or any other Muslim who ever lived. So there is no proof that Allah exists. In order to be afraid of him, he must exist. And he does not.
So please don't fear this creation of Mohammed and the spirit which duped him.
Pick up the gospels - finally - and read about the REAL Jesus who died for you so that you CAN spend eternity in a holy place filled with so much love that words cannot express it.

What is understood today as moral standards would have been considered by ancients as total nonsense. In times where war slavery was widespread it had its purpose as after killing the men the women and children were either taken as slaves or else would perish in absence of men to protect and provide for them. As for men that would take them there had to be something in return of paying for captives food, clothing and shelter, hence sexual slavery. By today's standards it is completely unacceptable and monstrous since we have outgrown the social and economical implications of slavery, by ancient standards however, the alternative of having women and children left to their own fate would most often mean a certain death sentence. This is why people should understand religions in pragmatic and historical context and admit that we as human race have to abide by the morals of our own time and circumstances and we are no more the same people that were living at those times, and God will understand.

One has to read all the adjoining verses in conjunction. Verses 4:23 to 4:25 are about women that a man is forbidden to MARRY. Verse 4:24 is about married slave women who had been captured at the battlefield itself and whose previous marriages were made null and void because they were unable to go back or had converted to Islam in captivity and didn’t want to go back to their non-Muslim husbands. Muslim women suffered the same fate when they were captured by the enemies. That is why Quran hints at this and says that Muslim should not grieve over what they have lost. If there was a treaty, the prisoners of war were always exchanged. It is only when there was none, that prisoners of war were taken as slaves. Even so, one month had to pass before a slave woman could marry another man, allowing sufficient time for her family to seek her freedom, if they wanted to. These women were either freed, released on payment of ransom, or exchanged with other Muslim prisoners held by the enemy. Here, Quran is allowing a Muslim man to MARRY from among these women. Verse 4:25 clearly explains this and creates an additional condition that besides the consent of the woman, the consent of her master/guardian should also be obtained. The master/guardian was not always the person who slept with her. This is clearly exemplified in this Hadith: “There are three people for whom there is a double reward; a person belonging to the Ahl al-Kitab who believes in his own prophet and believes in Muhammad, and the slave owned by another when he performs his obligations towards Allah and his obligations towards his master, and the man who has a slave girl with him, that he teaches her good manners and instructs her well in polite accomplishment, and he educates her and gives her a good education, then he sets her free and marries her off.” This tradition is repeated in Bukhari at least six times.

When he distributed the loot among the warriors, then the ranks of the Muslims began to increase rapidly, because other people also wanted to share in the subsequent looting. And this is how the history of Islam continued in later centuries. In the Quran, there are both the peaceful verses preached in Mecca and the aggressive verses preached in Medina. Whenever the Muslims are in the weak position that Muhammad was in Mecca, they tell to non-Muslim people the peaceful verses so as not to immediately create enmity in those people towards Islam. But as soon as they feel powerful they will immediately switch to the aggressive verses of WAR FOR THE CONQUEST OF THE WHOLE WORLD.

For those who are unaware many Muslim countries base their laws on Islamic law including Jordan where this happened just one day after 9/11. In that time and likely today a man could call the airport and block his wife from traveling and have the police return her by physical force. I only was freed because my father called the U.S embassy after I reconnected the phone cord he physically broke to tell him I was trapped inside the family's compound and locked from the outside into my apartment. The Mesjud I attended was the largest Sunni Mesjud in OC CA at that time for Palestinians, Egyptians, Jordanians and Lebanese Muslims. The Pakistanis had a larger one as well that was a school. It was accepted as being the most correct Mesjud in that area so their was a very large school of women who were wives or planning to become wives soon. We were educated in our rights and all things pertaining to marital life and family.
I didn't find out till after marriage the reality of all the things I wasn't taught and how these laws are implemented in real life.

spent time in Syria and Lebanon and met with many Imams to ask questions and lived under the roofs of many families before and after my marriage.
If Mohammed was allowed to have sex slaves against their will how do you think men who idolize him treat women ? Do you think those women were stolen from their murdered husband's then politely asked to submit ? They were kept as hostages the same as I was and my ex husband followed his prophets example.
Again according to Sharia a woman must stay in the marital home or with her family. She can't travel without her husbands permission.

Me and my ex husband practiced a moderately conservative form of Sunni Islam . We were both educated well above average and practiced in our every day life.

From my understanding, I think this refers to the past where the men were fighting wars and there were women leftover and the muslim men are given a guideline as to how to deal with them. I feel you I wasn’t practicing Islam but I was practicing catholicism for many years and a lot of the issues I had was with regards to the hypocrisy and inadequacy of why certain things where held in higher regards over others that made me not want to be apart of it anymore

Actually, in Islam, it is prohibited to even cut a tree during war, and the prophet Pbuh explicitly said that women and children should not be harmed.
