Love how civilians actually care how GWOT US/UK/AUS veterans react to Ukraine combat footage as somehow our opinions or experiences matter (spoiler alert, they don't) in the overall context of what's actually happening on the ground. As a person who donates to the drone programs, I don’t like that they wasted one attacking a flag. But I admit, it’s only about $100 per drone. Maybe they thought the Russians were watching.

@@MorgurTenedar I’m pleased to hear that from you. 😁 Whoever attacked the flag must have felt very satisfied, but with the government aid becoming harder to get past opponents, private funds become all the more important. Some of us can only give maybe $30 at a time, which is only about 1/3 of a drone. One thing that occurs to me is to favor buying European goods instead of American products, because that would support European taxes, which indirectly would support Ukraine 🇺🇦. I don’t know how effective that would be though.

It’s tragic also that ALL this farmland, everything we see SO pitted with mortar craters is ALL useless for a very long time agriculturally even if the war stopped today , the amount of residue, chemicals and material in the soil has ruined the soil for quite some time , it’s going to take years of rain and snow to rebalance its natural fertile state which means farming in Ukraine which is beyond critically important to it civilians as well as economy is shattered . Russia has leveled Ukraine to dust structurally and their farm land equally , if a miracle happened and it ended today with them retreating , Ukraine is facing a very very difficult rebuild and not a chance anyone’s going to convince Russia to take care of that as Germany had to in WW1 .

Ukraine pushed air defence closer to some of the front lines, they don't want to risk aircraft until they have to for example if Ukraine mounted an offensive that broke though, Then they may consider it a risk worth taking. ( This is my best guess )

Why do you have World War I fortifications when you’re spec ops and you’re supposed to be mobile doing observation and reconnaissance possibly engaging the enemy if you have to? These trenches are basically useless.
What is your suggestion ?
Because a trench is still a very viable defensive position. To this day, Armies train to dig fighting positions and over time improve them. This is no different than taking a building and strong pointing it as a defensive position or taking a piece of key terrain and establishing an OP or COP.

The lesson from Ukraine is: when peer conflict breaks out, special forces just become assault infantry grinding it out in trenches.
To be fair, this unit was created after the Russian invasion of 2022
Special forces should be the last resort in a peer conflict. Those talents can train and mold new troops. It's not really their mission profile to take on larger forces and never will. I don't care what elite unit or regiment you are from. A platoon or company of enemy infantry is no joke. 😂

Ukraine is sadly losing ground right now. This has always been war of attrition. Ukraine cannot win a long war not against the endless hord.
Ukraine can win, Russia is not as strong as it seems. The fact that we lost Avdiivka means nothing. We lost only the ruins of the city, and they lost 47k soldiers and about 650 pieces of equipment. If they continue to advance like this, they will simply run out of people
@@stankevicus Nope. Ukraine will run out of people first. AVdiivka was a Ukrainian strong hold, huge amounts of resources used to secure and hold that city all this time. Experienced soldiers died defending it that is hard to replace. Sorry but in a war of attrition, Ukraine cannot win.
