I am British I worked with the Americans based at Camp victory and Hila, best troops in the world. There brilliant shots before they join the Army and spectacular shots after signing up. There feeless and truly are boots on the ground. I worked with 1ID and later CAV
Much respect from USA
We are the best troops in the world 🇬🇧 even the Americans will tell you that .
@@Finny14754 I was in Iraq with the Americans! Hilla and Baghdad, frigging Awesome 1ID n 1st CAV Liberty formula Victory. Used to run the Airport Road [IED Alley) out of BIAP to CPA then a swing by to Jedaria, picked up the pieces when she died at the last underpass before the checkpoint! Sad day for the children of Iraq.
@Finny14754 both are extremely similar in almost every aspect. The difference is that we can do what you do, but on a much larger scale conventionally or otherwise. I don't think you're the best in the world, so please don't try to me what I as an American, will say. I do, however, think you're some of the best in the world, right alongside us. You have us beat in tradition, I'll give you that. 🇬🇧🇺🇸
@Shinobi1547 ...... very well said.... actually, that was perfectly said, cant change a word. One thing citizens of both countries can agree on, is that we're both equally thankful to have such well trained, capable men selflessly defending our freedom..... even if they can't pull off the hilarious cheerleading routines that apparently pass for advanced military training in Belarus!!
You never slag off Americans in your videos. Deff the nicest English guy on CZcams. I watch/support all your videos because of that. My dads born n raised in England and it’s cool to see not all Brits hate Americans. Thank you for your service, hope ur havin fun on vacation brotha
He has before though.
@@aj897 with good reason. Not out of ego
We don't hate Americans, you guys don't get sarcasm that's all
AGREED! I love the respect you have for everyone Ryan! Enjoy your new ‘studio’!!! 😂
ryans a great man, a tested and proven high caliber warrior in one of his countries most elite units, and arguably in the top 5 most elite tier 2 units on the planet, but more importantly hes a humble, respectful and honest man who is never found lacking in integrity and sound morals (at least from what ive seen over the past couple yrs or so ive been watching his channel). sending my love and regards to my cousins across the drink from good ole MERICA baby.
'Hurry up and wait' is the unofficial motto of the US Army!👍🏽
It's the 1st thing you learn at meps. Lol
The Marine Corps has the same mantra 😆
@@mollydawgdog lol, yep!
@@mollydawgdog that and bend over
Canada too haha
Ryan, I never served in the military, so I don't understand that sense of brotherhood that I hear soldiers speak about. That brotherhood was evident by the concern in your voice, first for the wounded soldier, but also the soldiers in general as their situation worsened. These are soldiers you have never met, have no personal relationship with, and know that this situation is already over, yet the concern, worry, and anxiety that you expressed demonstrates what I think that feeling of brotherhood must be like. Thank you for your content!
Man I really appreciate the way you speak about my brothers. We marines have nothing but respect for our British counterparts. And the way you show the same respect. Much love man.
I do have to say having helped out some british Special Forces guys in Iraq. And having flown on british aircraft in Afghanistan, as well as having been in a convoy with British soldiers Yall are pretty hard chargers. Some are just down right crazy. But it was awesome working with our British and Canadian Allies.
My brother worked as a medic on a road clearance crew. IEDs all he time. US Army, and Polish troops.
Army veteran here ,love the vids Ryan, yeah Hurry up and wait was used in the US Army too, it's weird when I think about it, I've been on 2 deployments, usually long boring hours of nothing with brief moments of chaos, usually not knowing what the hell is going on, it's nothing like movies, lol
logistics is IED everyday, we go where everyone else wont. You call we haul.
beautiful recovery of that shot soldier. he's one of the lucky ones. stayed a trooper and let them know he's still in it. Hope he's still around and tellin tales. Bless you all.
The first time I heard, "Hurry up and wait," was my first day at MCRD San Diego. We live it, too.
We also say, "Hurry up & wait". I say, "Take your time, just make it quick". Or pray, "God give me patience, now!"
Good video. I was in 82nd Airborne and 25th ID from 14' to '21. It was cool see Big Red One and whichever SFOD element they were with. That was a 240B/L. Camera made the barrel looked shorter so it might be a 240 lima. It's a medium machine gun. 7.62x51mm. Keep up the good videos!
I truly enjoy your videos. The combination of your Intelligence and personal experience really lend themselves to the superiority of your videos.
Good video Ryan, and I like it better with your commentary while the video is playing. God bless you brother thank you for your service
In my Afghan tour it was 70% sitting in a tower but whenever we headed out, usually in a US vehicle, it was "look for the IED" time. Even in the back seat, that's your main worry.
One thing to add is jealousy though, the US had their boys' own gym on the ground. While we had just basic circulation of duty, on call and off, the US guys actually had something to do during off times. Bless them for allowing us to use their gym.
Running out of ammo notwithstanding, hearing that a .50 cal is down is pretty rare. Those are some of the most reliable guns on the planet.
Yea bro we say hurry up and wait too. Just discovered your show from Kentucky. Keep up the good work 👍
My friend, the stuff that you put out is professional as hell! I could never show that professionalism.
"Hurry Up and Wait" is EXACTLY the phrase we us in the States, too.
Thank you Ryan for helping to make sense of this battle. And thank you for your service to help keep the free world safe.
As a former US Marine "infan-ry" guy (0311) I would proudly share a pint with you, Ryan.
Love ya brother.
🤜💥🤛
🦅🌎⚓️
Damn that was intense great one thanks.
I was never in the military but i hold the highest respect for our troops. U.k. and aussie and anyone else im forgetting as well. Much respect! Thanks for the commentary from one Ryan to another. It can be hard to understand whats going on.
Happy holidays buddy… love the uk and American arm forces God bless.
Mr. Ryan. QUESTION? Where are you when you recorded this? LOL. And I appreciate the authenticity of your videos and your genuine reactions when first time seeing a video. I can tell your reactions are sincere and unlike other uploaders, who review them first to get a best 'reaction' and reply, you really do watch it for the first time with us and we appreciate it!!!
I have a very good friend of the family, more familg then friend, he's in the the Royal Marines. I have the upmost respect for every woman and man who serve in the allied forces, you guys were definitely born to protect us, if i aas just 15% like you, id be very happy. I hope each and every solider serving or retired has a very Merry Christmas and hope 2024 is a better year 🎅🌲🎁🍻 from a thankfull Cornish-boy
The mounted weapon is an M240B and yes it uses 762 rounds.
This guy is British his name is Jan but he was in the US Military , he’s a very skilled warrior, don’t let him fool you saying he was just a driver in this mission, a legendary bad ass.
I have to say that, um, I love your videos and they're none closer than the British and Americans.
We invited "Hurry up and wait" after the Boston Tea Party!
Cheers and Happy New Year,
US Army SOF RET
New to the channel, good stuff
Great video
The minigun is a beast. 50 7.62 nato rounds per second. Just hearing the rotation gives me goosebumps.
Weird haven’t gotten any notifications from your channel in like 6 months. And have the bell on. Hope somethings not wrong with yur channel.
The us marines are no joke, I’m gonna try to go into the Air Force as well
"Hurry up and wait" is the unofficial Moto of the USMC!! Lol we know it all too well.
The 'Mini-gun" downsized version of the Vulcan gun. As a young boy my neighbor was an old retired tool & die maker for GE who worked on the first Vulcan gun. I went to High school with the son of the man who wrote the book on the Vulcan gun. Vermont national guard firing range was very close by, could smell the cordite if they were fire and you were outside- Tyler
one truck has a fucked up transmission, the other has a M2 ( .50 Cal ) that is inop, and there is a MK19 ( 40 mm grenade launcher) inop. at lest the mini gun and 240 ( 7.62 mm ) are still working.
glad they all made it out
The SAS were is Afghanistan, maybe not before 2006, but from the moment it turned into a real war, they were there, either as a stand alone Squadron or mixed with the Pool troops.. I know this because my unit was the unit that officially supports SF units and we supports 3 different UKSF units in my tours.
The minigun firing is the sound of death.
That’s a 240 Bravo. Like the video and reaction
I had a buddy out on foot patrol with the Afghan Nationals. When they stopped for a break one of the Nationals turned their rifle on the Marines patrolling with them and shot my buddy's friend who was a Sgt. and shot my buddy before the Marines turned around and terminated him. My buddy was the Corpsman attached to the Marine unit and spent 45 minutes working on his friend and Sgt before the US Army arrived. He talked about this a lot with me before he took his life a few years ago. Seeing this video reminds me of how much he loved his time as a Hospital Corpsman and how much I miss being a Corpsman too. You have the best military content on CZcams, Brother! I'm happy I found your channel
The SF Soldier shot in the back was shot in the abdomen. It looks like a shot in or around the colon, so I would worry about sepsis if he remains on the battlefield too long. They didn't locate the round but there's a chance it didn't hit anything and logged in the oblique, too. That's the best case scenario
all i can think of seeing those dismounts is LDA literally everywhere.
The mini fires so fast that it looks like a solid stream of bullets going out. There are tracers every 5 round, but you never know that.
We did the same thing..Hurry up and wait
Great footage Ryan 👍
Proud to have worn The Big Red One.
Ryan, thank you for your service to your country. As I yank, we have tier 1 assets namely Delta and ST6 comparable to your SAS and SBS, respectively. As you know, the US has other "white side" special operators, too such as the Ranger Batallion, Green Berets, SEALs, MARSOC, etc. Are there any comporable units in the British military?
Love your channel. Good commentary. From an American Marine, Semper Fi to our "cousins across the pond" the British Royal Marines
The only thing that bothers me about your backdrop, its not my backdrop. Keep up the good work. Love from the states back at ya.
Before he said it my exact thought was that’s the sound of fear from the mini gun
That was definitely an intense video
Loved the English guys we worked with. Royal Marines def get down hard. From an US Marine
We walked black routes almost daily. It costs more to replace a vehicle than a soldier.
Got shot at at camp victory at night, by snipers, all they hit was my bulldozer, security went out and took care of problem, they said hey Sarge we got them, I said who, they said the sniper trying to shoot you. Thank goodness for the infantry
RESPECT. LOVE THE CHANNEL!!!!!+🙏🇺🇲👍
It's gotta be frustrating for the Hajis to shoot at heavily armored US vehicles.
The Hajis hide behind mud walls and cant move without exposing themselves while the US armored vehicles can approach them without fear of being hit.
'hurry up and wait' is something we say about government work lol
Great video Ryan But I hate it when one of our SF soldiers got it in the back during the engagement with the enemy , I hope that he survived his wounds ok,,🇺🇸🇬🇧💯
He made it bro
Army SF, ODA's will forever have the scariest mission set, running indig! Fuck man! Actively vetting, selecting, training, and fighting with indig who could very well be the enemy (which has happened several times throughout Vietnam and GWOT). They really define what "Special" means in SF! Stay alert stay alive! Airborne!
Well done
@23:25
M240 is a 7.62 x 51
I lived in England three years. JOK. RAF
Molsworth. Brit marines can get a little scary themselves, especially after a few pints.
We do have hurry up and wait.
That minigun definitely fires waaaaay more than 50 a second; unless they adjust the per second aspect. Which you’re the expert im not.
mans living the life rn with that backdrop
Yes Hurry up and wait was huge at the 101
Wouldn't the F-16s have FLIR, which would have easily located the enemys position in those trees? Those enemy should be lucky it was an F-16 making a gun run and not the A-10!
I just started watching your videos not too long ago, and you have excellent reation videos. Thank you for your service, brother. Love from across the pond!
Ryan, yes special forces, Marines have more tougher training they and your self end up in areas with out a lot of support or none. Y'all usually make rank faster than the regular guys. I got training with some British and Germans. Brits pretty tough military guys I want them on my side during a fight.
The M-240 is a 7.63x51 and is considered a Medium Machine Gun.
That was actually a Mk48 I believe. It’s a M249 mini me sized medium belt fed machine gun, but it fires 7.62x51mm instead of 5.56x45mm. It’s pretty much exclusively used by JSOC and SOCOM. Hence the SF guys in the video with all the goodies. The M240 Bravo is way bigger than the one that was mounted on that Osh Kosh M-ATV. All that stuff they have is next level man. It drives me nuts that we left that stuff in the Tali’s hands in Afghanistan. All by design brother. Have a good one.
When I was in the US Army we also used the term "Hurry up and wait."
He wasn't being courteous when he said "let me out sir", we have to address officers in the military as sir. And thats where the saying don't call me sir i work for a living. Lol
Yes, hurry up and wait is a thing in the military
Hi there, seems funny how guys just walk around the truck in the open at times or have their heads way up out of the top of the vehicle.. very relaxed.. you would think theyd be taking cover at all times as a shot could come at any moment.. im not a soldier by the way. Cheers
Both the M-134 minigun and the M-240 are 7.62Nato
Something no mentioned is that the driver may not and must not generally leave the vehicle. Just tactical things.
The US guys had 7.62mm rounds incoming. They have a noticeable "snap" as they pass by at greater than the speed of sound.
WAAY, WAAY, back during the "Kosonam" days one, I tasked one of my squads with doing security for some Brits at the ONE MAJOR retrans sight that was staffed with British a signals squad. When I got there the first time to do the handoff, I was blown away with the sight because the Brits had their own bar, complete with a couple of pool tables, a juke box and everything else you might need. I thought it was the coolest thing because SOME American units are a bit too uptight at times....BUT they WERE tight and did their jobs, PERIOD! The Italians on the other hand....NOT so much. I
My the lord be with you all God bless from Scott in England 🇬🇧 🙏
that last gun at the end was a 240
yes, in the US Mil Hurry up and wait is a ubiquitous saying. Probably picked it up during WW 2 from whomever said it first.
The only time I saw a mini gun was after extract from a hot LZ. They need them on the chinook’s not idea for hot LZ’s and that was scary AF
We also had Apaches there for that one I forgot about those dudes but there a game changer to
Hurry up and wait is big here too.
You fell out of my algorithm for a bit, figured I better comment.
The kit that these dudes went out with is not standard in anyway. Regulars have no access to these weapons.
yes..we hurry up and wait alot....like ALOT
As he ran and ducked for cover the round hit behind his shoulder and exited his lower back probably damaging scapula and ribs seeing as where the round exited a lot of guys get hit like this when ducking into cover lucky he only got hit once
Wish they had HE M203 rounds on hand, or a Mk19 for some area effect.
Hurry Up and Wait is the same here....
Another great video, Marine. Off-topic, but are you vacationing in San Diego by chance?
No mate, I’m in Mauritius, my wife’s native home
@@RyanForrest1664 I see, beautiful back-drop, that is. All the best to you, the Mrs, and the channel. Enjoy your holiday
We hear TIC. And were scrambling QRF and redirecting CAS. We'll move heaven and earth
looks like a good situation for the warthog..
I just wanna know what that mini gun sounds like in real life. Shit gotta be so damn loud 😅
Hurry up and wait is US Army doctrine, possibly the other branches but I'd need them to weigh in.
Thought they had body armor around the torso, oh I see it went in the shoulder
If I'm not mistaken the skull and sword flag is the Marine Raider flag?
Hurry up and wait. The was our motto in USMC
Near the end, that’s an m240 machine gun,and yep, it shoots 7.62 , not 50 cal.
I’ve been watching your videos a long time, my friend, and I see now that you have actually seen some stuff. What’s going on with the CZcams boxing?
as a formeru.s. marine… hell yeah we know what hurry up n waits are….. formations at parade rest just to go to a formation… and being on time is late… since the conception of our outfit back in 1775 on 10 nov…. dudes were in tun tavern several hours before the ink well and paper were slammed onto a table and a column of files from the right broke out… or a form for chow monkey drill action took place… but on a serious not there b.r. marine… priciatechew and your service hard charger!!!! couple of ya’lls comandos actually came to observe us train and sorta shadow and tag along with us during our last couple of weeks of recruit training at P.I. S.C. recruit depot way back in 94…. They were some very locked on hard dudes… though we didnt get to converse with each other as expected… we did take turns with some show us what chiyall got volleys…. very disciplined and hard… so I mean it when I say I really appreciate you brother! having them jjtacs in a patrol and in on mission is like having a guardian angel with some serious assets at their disposal!
Its the same. Hurry up and wait. Also if you're on time you're late
