@@federica9090 oh you got braces the same day as me 😭
They usually stay on more than halfway through treatment. Although they are hard at first as you eat they wear down over time and get more comfortable to live with. Hope this helps!

OMG..This is insanely torture. Got this yesterday with braces also, unable to chew anything 😭. Its hell. I think I'll lose weight because of this bite pads😭.. irritating.
I got mine today I figured out I can’t eat instant ramen noodles and slurp them down

I got mine today, and cried over not being able to chew

I have a child that's 14 turning 15 in July and has been wearing braces since January but sadly has an severe overjet. Since jaw surgery is expensive we've been considering on an extraction of her teeth but I feel wary about the expenses and of result of it. That's why we're thinking of elastics but we don't know for sure if it'll work.

Can these bite pads shift my teeth deeper into my gums??? I’m worried over the course of 2 months with these on my teeth, that I may have bitten down to much and caused irreversible movement with my upper teeth. I have braces on the top and the bite pads on my bottom molars. Mouth still feels weird, but thankful for any feedback and the process. I appreciate this insightful video. Also, my daughter keeps grinding down her bite pads (they placed hers on the top molars)… she’s almost biting her brackets. Should I tell them they should put it on the bottom and not the top molars. I had a deep bite and some cross bite. Got damon braces with bite blocks today as an adult 😭I was not prepared for these bite blocks. How am I supposed to chew with just one tooth (bite block) on either side touching my lower teeth? Especially as someone that suffers from IBS C already and doesn't know enough to control it. Like I just live on pears dude. And I live in a hostel with no access to a kitchen so my cooking is limited. Getting a blender today so hopefully I'll be able to live on fruit smoothies.
I'm a food and meat lover. Day 1 of having braces and that blue thing on both sides of my back teeth. Now I can't hardly chew my everday foods like rice and beef or chicken. My top and bottom teeth are not touching. Definetly need my Ortho to do some adjustment ASAP😂

However for me, every time I have to get my braces tightened or appliance tightened, (I have 3 impacted teeth so I get new ties every visit) my mouth is very sore and it hurts to eat so every time you have an appointment just take meds before and after cuz you won’t really be able to eat
i got braces in august and also had these placed plus elastics to fix my overbite all in the same appointment, i had one pad on each side of my mouth but one has fallen out so now i just have one bite pad left, does that matter urgently , will it affect my treatment if i leave it until my next apppontment or do i need to book in for an emergency appointment.

How are you supposed to eat? I’m amazed any patient consents to these and therefore, that any orthodontist is able to fit them!
But I have them on the top front in my Thoth and I don’t know how to eat
I got braces today and they put bite stoppers on my teeth as well BUT they are really long and I can’t eat anything. I keep looking for a solution but the only thing I can find is people saying that you need to start with soft food but I can’t chew regardless. 😢
Edit: my bite stoppers are like skinny thingies sitting on the back part of my molar so I have to bite accurately or else it will hurt.

Yes, I have bite pads and had them wear sufficiently down that I started to hit on the lower brackets. Had my orthodontist adjust them, added material to restore original height.

Great question! This all depends. Without seeing your teeth or bite It would be hard to tell you exactly the time frame. Our best bet is to have you go check in with your local orthodontist for more!

How do I take them off at home? One of them fell off, and my orthodontist didn’t fix it when I went in so I want it off

I just got my braces fitted yesterday but I cannot chew anything. It is agony
I got mine on Friday and it’s been awful pain with the blocks and the sticking out wires. I went in today to had the bite adjusted because I couldn’t take it anymore. I felt like it was too high and it was causing too much pain on my back teeth. He reduced it a bit but pretty much he said I will have to deal with it for about a month or so. 😣
What do i do if i break one of them 😅

you should be okay to eat soft foods as usual just eat on the side with the remaining bite pad until your next appointment!

I've heard Damon braces(self ligation) are better in cases of crowding and they can achieve wider smile than traditional ones, is it true specially the wider smile part? I am about to start my treatment but can't decide to go for normal ones or Damon.
I got my Damon braces, just 2 months.... I dunno because i still in short time, but this change fast and my face looks have more good shape.
I am 8 months with Damon with moderafe crowding, I already have a big smile and overall I enjoy this type of braces. Would recommend
I've had braces and "Turbos" in for 1 day and I haven't figured out how to chew and it's really annoying. Thank God for instant mashed potatoes and applesauce I guess? 1 day down, 729 days to go.😒😁
