I've never heard of a police department that struggled with corruption. Most often they excel at it

I agree: When we get "busted", we have a criminal record. That prevents us from any kind of employment, beyond minimum wage jobs. If a cop gets busted, HE should have a criminal record, and should not be able to find work beyond a minimum wage job! Fair is fair.

Mandatory insurance for all cops. They pay any fines. Any retraining has to be paid by the cop personally, not the department, but the cop.
If they stay cops. Some of them are so nuts from the emotional damage they carry, they should be banned from having a gun, let alone being cops anymore...

When I was growing up the corruption in the town next to mine got so bad they fired the entire poilce force and the State police took over policing the town until the town could hire replacement officers.
