    Great video guys! A question for you then. Is the engine guard compatible with the upper Givi side crash bars? Question regarding the 2019-2020 model.

      We use 248 as its not as strong it suits trail use. However still like 268 on certain items that require a stronger lock

    How important is the skid plate, what are the chances to damage things going off-road - considering to be more careful not to hit something directly from bottoming out - can smaller rocks, gravel damage anything on stock cb500x? I've gone offroad few times and it is so much fun, just I keep thinking about rocks jumping below it :)

    Great videos! I hadn't realized the skid plate doubled as an engine guard. That's a nice touch. Glad to see the 2019 version still fits. How hard is it to do an oil change with this skid plate? Are there access ports to the drain plug?

    • @rallyraidproducts1927
      @rallyraidproducts1927  Před 2 lety +5

      To do an oil change you can just remove the pivot pin and loosen the front bolts a little. The guard then swings down for access

    How's your engine and engine bolt before and after installing? I'm quite afraid to install the crashbar of mine, since you've said that the front cradle slightly flex forward under the weight of the bike, how was it? And how am I suppose to avoid that one? Should I use jack in it under the oil pan, is it safe? Hehe

    No protection of the exhaust system or bottom of the engine. The CB500S is an adventure bike, use for some off road riding. I preferred T Rex crash/engine guard, radiator guard and their heavy duty skid plate. It also has a removal plate to allow oil filter change. .

    Comparing to the vstrom650xt do you think it the cb500x is a wise choice, considering all the mods?

    • @rallyraidproducts1927
      @rallyraidproducts1927  Před 2 lety +1

      I think the vstroms are probably more comfortable in terms of their size for road touring, but for an all terrain adv touring machine I would take the CB for its compact platform, clearance and range of mods

    Good design, I've seen bikes written off because the crash bars bent the frame or fractured the engine casting. Without the crash bars the bikes would have been repaired.

    Have to ask the skid plate might be functional but it's a seriously ugly piece of kit, why doesnt it cover the lower front of the exhaust by the hedders??? Such a shame as src moto looks fantastic but is not as durable... Would of been great if you guys made a hybrid of yours and src moto, like the t rex skid plate...

    • @rallyraidproducts1927
      @rallyraidproducts1927  Před 2 lety

      Mainly because the headers are more than strong enough to deflect non weight bearing impact. Bringing the guard so much further forward adds even more leverage and results in a weaker, heavier guard.

    • @porter5877
      @porter5877 Před 2 lety

      @@rallyraidproducts1927 yeah I get that, central load point... Question do you think a custom made exhaust running along side of the bike could work like how most lighter off road bikes are or would it be a waste of time in your opinion?

    • @rallyraidproducts1927
      @rallyraidproducts1927  Před 2 lety +1

      @@porter5877 Its always an option, any ground clearance gained is a positive. However here is the UK and Europe its a pretty big headache / risk running straight through pipes etc. The sump is one of the lowest parts regardless of the pipe and catalytic converter, but some clearance could be gained in theory
