Like if you too want a research catalog of only Gene facial expressions.
It's crazy to see how far you've come! Also, most things that aren't in-game won't be leeks, am I right ;D
Whats the chances of having battleships in astroneer
😂😂
Idk if all feel the same but I want to try all that early versions xD
Like this if you want a B-29 Stratofortress
I really miss the storm, it gave that kind of adrenaline every time. I wish you guys could bring it back in maybe a hard mode for the game
Klaky14 A agreed
Or specific weather for each planet like toxic rains on atrox or tornados on novus,
You could probably find a pirated older version of the game just to replay that.
Klaky14 A well I know that if they bring back the storms it would make the game crash a lot and much more Laggy and buggy
I have a world from 2018 I have *never* replaced or reset, meaning I played on it on older versions and it has broken stuff in it (its amazing)
EDIT: the world didn't stand the test of time :( it got corrupted and started causing problems, I _had_ to delete it.....:((
Those early designs and even things that we dont have now looks kinda cool tbh
I would really want to play astro
@@guyfrompoland1358 same, but my current system runs it at 20 fps average and spikes to 0 like every 2 secs lol
would love a colony thing like in exo
Those rovers look amazing
I really loved those shelters.
2:48
I *wish* we had these animations.
Placeholder Name wonder what happened to it... 🤔
Taek they were deleted for rendering problems for example I have 60 FPS but when I go to a vehicle it drops to 5 FPS approx. 2 - 8 seconds
@@FBIAgent420 that is because the game always saves when you enter a seat
Akkupack in this version, before they were needed to use a powerful pc of their time, lag consists of the game crashing
the game renders everything at once, trust me, not even my high power Xbox one can handle it. even in singleplayer
The sandstorm was a bit frustrating, had to dig holes around my base to not die
But i kinda miss it now, that feeling of "have to move cuz a storm is coming"
With the ability to anchor things down, it can prevent things flying off, but the devs are braindead they downgraded the game
A nice trip down nostalgia lane
Same here
I was playing for like, one of first pre-alpha builds. So i agree. Nostalgic.
I want to try some of these older versions out they look very cool.
Like the first generation that's called ASTRO, kind of like an 8-bit game
Bag O'chips ya to me they seem to have just made the game simpler in some ways
yeah, to this day I still can't understand why they changed certain things and scrapped certain ideas.
the gameplay is a very simple concept but the attention to detail and satisfying nature of this simplicity makes it fun as hell
Well it’s good they didn’t call it Astro bc that’s the name of a band
@@yoongis_garden Yeah and it's hell of a better they didn't call it EXO
This game is visually and thematically very unique. I have been playing since the early days.
Thanks and kudos to all the team, past and present, whose work on this game has been so wonderful.
I remember getting Astroneer about 1.5 years ago. I was really looking for a game that was interesting and looking around the steam shop/reddit.
I stumbled across this little game that had absolutely beautiful music and looked interesting enough. Art really catches me when it comes to a game and the art style and music drew me in (plus the whole theme of the game).
So I buy it naturally, i see its in beta/pre launch. I know a lot of those games never see a release date but that was fine by me. I boot up this pretty little game and man i just get HOOKED i mean sucked in immediately and i ended up logging 88 hours that week in Astroneer. I couldn't believe it, really only felt like 20 hours but alas i felt i did all I could. But the development team consistently would pump out updates so i'd start a new game to see what was changed and log some more hours. I easily put in over 100 hours at this point.
Astroneer was a pretty little game that really made me feel good as i played it, I hadn't had a game do that in a long time so it was refreshing. Seeing an official release date makes me so utterly happy, and the journey there was great. Whether the developers know it or not their game brought joy to my soull and I will always be grateful for that experience, and remember it.
I doubt they or anyone else will ever read this, but I felt the need to share anyways. If you read this far, I hope you had as much fun as I did.
EDIT: Of course when the official release comes, i plan to easily put in another 200 hours.
Yep I feel the same as well. Not sure how much I have logged in so far but it's been close to your time. I got it recently for a friend as a Christmas gift and he played it all week, a few hours with me too. I love being able to do drop in/out coop. Can't wait for official release and so glad it kept progressing forward and did not die on the vine.
Same story fr the most part, found it through a friend like two years ago or something i can't accurately remember lol. So awesome to see the progress it's made.
feelgood bagger
Congrats, people read your message. It won't go in vain.
And diddo, heh... love this game
same story for me too
Can't wait to play more of this game in 2019! :D
Captain Jack same its such an amazing experience to play with friends no matter how you play it
Yo hey captain Jack! Didn't think I'd see you here! But me either!!!
Fancy seeing you here
@@icekrieg6953 that's what I was thinking
Can't wait to see it on the channel again Jack
This reminds me of halo's development. Started out as basically an entirely different genre with a far out camera but over time the camera came closer and the genre transitioned to something else.
This game is one of the best I’ve ever known. What saddens me the most though is I got it in 2016 and I wasn’t able to see all the stuff before it. Something makes me wish I could go back and see, and it’s just amazing how many changes were put into this. Soon we will all be able to play the full release after the years of work put into this. Thank you, System Era
I absolutely loved this video ! So much progression and behind the scenes work that went into this amazing game. I cannot wait until 1.0 and look forward to playing it from now, until it releases and beyond. Great work and keep it up!
yes
How does your comment have so little likes Z? You are like the king of astroneer!
Yeah same here it amazed how far this game has come and we are nearing the final release.
Hey Z1, not surprised to see you here :)
i already follow your channel from long time ago , and you make me know more and love more this game.
Oh wow! Thank you for sharing this! I loved seeing all the "behind the scenes" designs. Congrats on the upcoming 1.0 launch. It's been a fun ride. 😀👍
@tatoARKesito xD How's it going?
I literally just found out about this game five minutes ago because of a Covid-19 news article where some ill-informed parent was using an Astroneer costume to protect her kids from corona virus.
Lol
WHERE CAN I GET ONE AS A RETRO SUIT?
Lol
I NEED A CALIDOR COLORED ARID SUIT *NOW!*
Yeah that's definitely BS, just look at what that "space suit" does against toxic gas from a fart flower...
I played once this game five years ago, and I already loved it. I had not heard anything about for all this time, but I saw it accidently on steam... And it was a real rediscovery.
From an 10h~15h and impressive adventure at his beginning yet, when it was finally only the core of the game, it became an unnexpectably awesome dream with a high potential of unic flavor and proper mecanics.
With no doubt this game could become one of the best I've ever played to.
i think you could't play this game 5 years ago,i think you are lying
@@pablomeira8888
Well, I was 14 and right now I'm 18... Maybe it was rather 4 years ago than 5 years.
But btw this wasn't the center of my comment, it wasn't even an introduction. So I don't care about the precision of the amount of time I gave.
@@arandomcube3540 ok sorry
wow... Astroneer has come such a long way. I started playing late 2016/early 2017. I can still remember the old module system, and who doesn't remember the old rover physics? You'd hit the tiniest pebble and practically go into orbit. I remember the introduction of the soil extractor and how overpowered I thought it was back then. I remember farming research nodes on exotic trying to finally unlock the medium storage (never did) :(. I also remember the transition to the new research system, and how it felt GREAT to actually be able to choose what to get. And recently with the crafting update and how I was so excited to see all these new shinies! And now, Im looking forward to the release Astroneer and what will come with it, as well as what will be in store for the future. I also applaud System Era for making the game great as they did, more focused on making the game great and fixing bugs rather than being fixated in making money. And I realize that any delay in a release is for good, as to fix any last-minute bugs or make any last-minute game balances. So through all of this, we all still love the game and can't wait for more. We love you System Era, for everything y'all've done (y'all've= you all have)( go Texas!). So merry Christmas and a happy New Year/release!
now that I think about it, we need some sorta holiday events in astroneer...

Watching this vid gave me so much nostalgia
Argh the good ol days :)
Astroneer changed so much sinde Early Access release
Happy Birthday Astroneer. See you in 50 days.
I saw it on steam one day and decided "hey this looks cool" and got it. It was about 1-2 years ago and I still love to play it to this day
“With enough patience, you can be able to reach your goals. Even if it takes 6 years.”
Whoever put together this video needs a raise. This really got me hyped for the new release.
You know what. I take that back.
Literally everyone that worked on this game needs a raise.
TheBigChicken so true. This is the best indie development team I’ve ever followed. I’m excited to see what they do after Astroneers launch :)
Even the boss?
Happy 2 year Launch-iversary, Astroneers!! Early Access has been chok full of great moments, and I look forward to many more in the full release. Thank you for investing in this great game!! ❤️🚀

This showed up again on my front page again, still brings a smile to my face, thank you for the hours of joy I've already had, and the many more I intend.
I met this game in 2017 and fell in love since. I remember subscribing and watching the livestreams and following it closely. Tried it due to Xbox Early Access. Play Anywhere made me even more excited. I'll purchase it eventually when I can convince my friends to get it too, so that I wouldn't have to play alone. So proud of your growth and your team.
I legitimately can’t wait for the finished game. I’m definitely putting another 100+ hours in again.

I am Amazed at how much the game has Progressed! Its a Joy to see all the Updates You guys drop! Keep it Going System Era!
I actually like the older vehicles more than the vehicles which are now in the game, but still one, if not the best game on steam
GOOD WORK KEEP IT UP

Aye the designs from 2014,15,16 look cool
The Glass tanks at 00:59 minute mark seem pretty neat, I would love to have that in game!
Can agree.
I think that would better fit a more realistic art style, where as Astroneer has passed that and gone more imaginative. I can agree that it looks great though!
this makes me appreciate Astroneer even more, i know a lot of work and love must have gone into it but seeing the progress laid out together, wow.
Thanks System era. Thanks ASTRONEER.

Remember the pods? Where you extruded a module and to turn it into a platform you put 1 resin, then 2 resin to make it into a large platform? Ah the old days.
Remember when the shuttle had a hydrazine tank? And when hydrazine was acquired through the catalyzer?
And when the planets were called "Terran" "Exotic" "Irradiated"? And when the toxic fart plants were sag-bags?
I love this game, and I'm proud I was there to see it grow up into an all time favorite of mine,
Thank you System Era
I got this game a few days after game preview launch on Xbox and have loved the game ever since. 1.0 has brought lag but I know that you guys are fixing it already because you have a great dev team. I loved the game when I first got it and then the big update with all the new base building stuff happened and changed everything... I just want to say thank you for making this game and to keep up the great work!

Great video, better than 99% of content here on CZcams. The game is so fun to play. Can't wait for release!
Also, the music in this game is something else. Very interesting choice of style, but quite fitting.
I’ll never forget the time I’ve spent trapping my friends in caves and holes and letting them suffocate
Lol
Hey, is there a way we could play these old versions after launch? Like a special present to people who played during early access?
That would be amazing, but I think itll cause just compatibility issues
With what?
Kleadron if you try and load up those saves from old versions in 1.0 by accident.
@@kleadron the current version, colliding with precious outdated versions. Plus theres stuff that got removed my guess is even more files to download
The way I was thinking about it was steam beta branches, which remove all of the files before downloading the new ones. You cannot have multiple versions downloaded at the same time.
Saves from earlier versions will not load in 1.0 anyways.
This video brings back so many good memories in the game 2 years of playing has been great and I hope it stays great!

Love this game!!! I stream it almost every day and can’t get enough of it. Did I say I love this game?! Keep up the great work guys!!! 👍👍👍
This is absolutely beautiful. The amount of time and effort put into this project must have been astronomical. I’m just sitting here imagining all the start-up crashes, broken rendering, and just generally weird stuff that you must have encountered during the creation of it, and then frustratingly, seemingly endlessly, attempting to fix it, then the feeling of accomplishment after the matter, watching the player model not glitch out, the animations and collision physics working, then finally... updating like 0.5% of what you currently had planned, only to start that process all over again, making a rover, a new type of platform connector, or a start button that doesn’t crash the game, maybe finding out that the rest of the code has decided to not work consistently anymore, or being told by someone that the tall spaceman’s character model is big enough to clip through small spaces into the floor, and having to completely redesign it, and through all that struggle, all the hard work and sleepless nights of coding, and all the support from a million fans and too many CZcamsrs to count, just how far you’ve come, just how much it’s been, just how long you’ve been doing this, and I’m wondering how you feel about it - accomplished? Anxious? Maybe you miss all that. Maybe you want it back. Maybe you love the fact that it’s almost out. I definitely can’t share a similar experience I had with you. I can’t say I’ve ever had anything even close to this. I only heard about this around 2 years ago, on a CZcams video, and I haven’t been following it since then, I only recently got back into the game myself, but it has been a journey for me nonetheless, and I can only imagine how much of a journey it’s been for you -- actually, I take that back. I can’t imagine how much of a journey it’s been for you. But anyway, I just want to say, this project is absolutely beautiful. The number of amazing things I’ve experienced in this game (and only on the first planet) is extremely high and still climbing. I can’t express the feeling I had when I saw the 1.0 trailer, and I’m sure playing the game will only be even more fantastic. As I watched this video I realized what this project is: a work of art. The world this game creates is utterly beautiful from the mountains to the caverns to the sky, stars, the adorable sound effects in the menu screens, the playful, inspiring music, all the possibility, and everything else. This game is wonderful and I am so happy that I have followed it through for the time that I have. System Era, thank you so much for the experience.
P.S. somehow I didn’t find myself crying... I think I need either medical attention or an onion. Also, someone spread the word about this game. I haven’t seen anything about it besides from system era at all yet. It’s seriously important to me that this game gets the attention that it deserves. I love this game and I wouldn’t let it release silently for the world.
Hahaha awesome video. That "Face-Selector" made me grin :D
Me: *Crying*
Also Me: "Don't cry or else you'll fry your keyboard, then you wont be able to play."
Me Again: *"Wont be able to play"*
