- Astroneer is one of the games that I will remember throughout my entire life. It charmed me in a way that I had to keep playing. I'm hoping this reaches to the game developers because to be honest, I am a really huge fan. My favorite part about Astroneer is that there is no wrong way to play it. Follow the Missions, or don't, go exploring, or stay close to base, any way you want is the correct way to enjoy this beautiful game.
I introduced astroneer to my dad and he got addicted instantly even though it was a struggle to teach him the basics mechanics at first he still loved playing it with me and in his own game
I was one of the first 1000 people to get the game and seeing the work they’ve put into the game and how much it’s changed, everything is so thought out, it’s one of my favorite games.
I've been playing astroneer since 2016. It's the only game my wife wants me to play because of how soothing the music is. It definitely a stress reliever and a great way to just unwind.
If you haven't tried Astroneer, do it already! It's one of the best open-world survival games out there, but playing it barely tells like a survival game! A lot of times I only notice the sandbox and exploration elements while playing.
Man if only you released this vid rn you would love the train automation n how much it really finished the late game of the game

I just started playing Astroneer. It’s a really chill game. There is no one way to play and enjoy watching other CZcamsrs at how they tackle the missions. 😊
This game has always been one of my favorites. I agree on the music being gorgeous, and I find the game being so immersive I can get sucked into it for hours.
the soundtrack and visuals of this game is what made me fall so in love, i got chills the first time i went to the core the way the soundtrack just blended so well
Please check it out again since the latest update. The new custom game modes are really fun to tinker around with, and you can get a special palette from completing their hardcore mode. It's not easy, and that permadeath thing can be brutal if you make a mistake, but it just added even more replayability.
I have being playing astroneer since the early days of non removable platforms and im amazed by its progress. Also what happened to the storms that periodically hit the players base and moved around the planet?
they got removed! Interestingly there are many people against their return, since 'art worlds' are a thing now. I honestly wish there was a work around, bc storms sound like they were awesome.

Yes, they worked really hard. But it gets old, you know? It's always the same mission, always the same goal. When they introduced a few obstacles, like the EXO-chips or the immense increase in power consumption by the Atmospheric Condenser (which necessitates that the player adapts his energy production strategy), a few more hours in adapting to these altered circumstances were valid to put in; it was fun to solve these problems, also with the automation update and the new canisters to store the resources, which bring out the horder in us. But in the end: Same mission. (Spoiler ahead) Unlock the Gates, the Cores and then bring the Tryptics to the Satellite, unlock and that's it.
I seriously wouldn't mind to have the option to go to another solar system with a new set of planets, with a new set of problems and missions. I don't even have the need for an overarching storyline - just a new set of problems to solve - not in the same place, but a new one. I mean, that's the desire of so many people who criticize this game for its repetitive nature. How about introducing alien ruins to explore and mine for resources and ancient technology? Or derelict spacestations to explore and take out what can usably be recovered from them... heck building your own spacestation and mining asteroids (or something); creating a mass accelerator to get the materials for your mining station into orbit... I could name quite a number of interesting concepts that could be dumbed down enough, so they would fit into the game and create a lot of fun, without posing a threat of being too complicated or informationally overloading the game itself. All of that would shake up things pretty good and would increase the appeal of the game a lot more than any update on the old planets did so far.
It is a good game, true. But it also gets boring specifically because it only polishes at the edges with these updates mentioned above, without actually introducing something shatteringly new.
Boring when you have multiple resources to find and not really can do much with different base locations I would want automatic Base with very low need to manage stuff constantly and just explore different vegetations you can do that now but miss out on Better Base building stuff
@@Jakkaribik1 Yes, like in Factorio. This game does offer the automation options you mentioned. It's a different concept though (Factorio is a logistics management game, while Astroneer is more aimed at adventurously exploring and mining the minium stuff you need to unlock the planet cores). But your idea would help the management of the Astroneer planets a lot more, yes.
@@Tristan3D Factorio yeah my plays are just Bases mining and not much logistic and optimization "Rimworld" is the balance before Factory it offers easier play / building and not too much in grinding or exploring "Factory" wants you to grind the base out and make fast another (next to your Base or in the Region) while Astroneer wants you to constantly explore and not stay at one place to long.
Rimworld is kinda the middle you should build a base but lategame when you have killboxes and the map mined up then starting a new game or settling somewhere else is a must.
@@Jakkaribik1 Yep. My factorio playstyle is to put enough resources into a "mainbus" (the main stream of refined resources like copper plates and iron plates) and then syphon off of this mainbus what I need to feed the research packs.
I actually got to the end of factorio one time. It's a grind because the resources you need in the end to launch the rocket are plentiful and complex to create. It is much like you say: It propells you to go for a mid sized factory. I also used the "factory for every pack" before, but it's too much effort. The mainbus is more efficient and a quicker way to launch the rocket. Factorio - bar the space mod that is - pretty much ends there an loses its appeal, because it has no real end in research. You can launch as many rockets as your resources last, and you can research ever more efficient stuff. But it gets old because of that; there is nothing new to do other than launching the rockets (or play the space mod, which puts you on different planets and even in space with stations and all... it's exceedingly more complex than the base game).
Actually, I don't really go for the automation so much in Astroneer. I would like to explore more realms; more planets; being confronted with new problems that necessitates me to build and create stuff to solve them. You know... adventure stuff. The snail update doesn't really cut it for me on that front (and the most interesting thing about the snails were not actually the snails, but the research notes of those who encountered them first; storywise I mean - the mechanic of the snails itself is rather boring if not tedious to unlock).
I love this game. I bought it earlier this year, originally for my 7-year old son, and as it was on Steam sale for $15 got a copy for his sister and myself and the same time. It's a great game for the kids as the only dangers are from the environment, there's no shooting and killing, and I can join their games and help out on the more boring/difficult/repetitive tasks while they mess around.
The level of detail is amazing - you can watch the suspension working on the buggy and rovers as you bounce over rough terrain. Totally unnecessary for gameplay, but despite the cartoonish style it makes it feel realistic.
I like the problem solving aspect - how do I do what I need to get done, while staying safe? How do I get from A to B? There are several possible solutions, and it's that openness that keeps it fresh.
I own Elite Dangerous and No Man's Sky, but find myself playing this instead for its simplicity and joy.
And this is why I love this game. Everyone can play. And it's relaxing and you can just enjoy everything ❤🎉
I think the music was one of the first things to really draw me in. The first time I booted up the game and heard the menu music, I though it was incredible

2:16 it was so amazing heading to deslo looking up and seeing sylva(planet names are weird in this game leave me alone) pass by its just so pretty looking I love it

i played this game on xbox with some of my friends, one of them we had a duo world together. we had an entire main base powered by RTGs and actually beat the game. This is actually the only game i've cried to after beating it. its almost therapudic to play this game, and its so simple. that same world i beat with my friend i first called "land of curious george" and after beating it, i actually renamed it to "the end of curiosity" what a game bro 😌...
I also want to compliment the game's intuitive design! EVERYTHING has a cue! If not by sound (each resource has its shingle) Buttons also exist ingame, each gauge has an auditory tell (you know when you're running low on p much anything)
I love astroneer i want to find some friends to play it with but no one has it 😢

finally someone who feels the same way i do i only have one other friend that has this game but in the past month we have accumulated over 200h on it and i do agree i really hope this game becomes more popular
1.i have to mention with no prior knowledge of astrophysics i have been able to somewhat force my way in a timely manner to every planet in kerbal space program and had a blast doing it, but that was just my experience. 2. the more important thing i want to say is i have been playing astroneer since around mid/late 2018 and i have had a blast watching it grow into the spectacular tree of space exploration and industry it is today and i agree it's a criminally underrated game. (edit: forgot to mention how nice your videos' quality is, it's pretty great considering your channels size, keep up the good work!)

its crazy this game was started in like 2014 and really hasnt changed much since I think 2016

This game is absolutely stellar. My only wish is for a more expanded galaxy/universe, but maybe the devs are already wrapping their noggins around that.

Got the "get all achievements" achievement, and my biggest gripe is that there's practically no replayability
My wife asks me why I like Astroneer so much and all I can say is that it’s just totally mindless. I don’t need to think super hard or stay focused. I just get high and wander around for hours on end and then look at the clock and wonder where the time went. 10/10

Much agreed, ive been trying to get my friends to play it with me for the longest time, my favorite game to play when im by myself wanting to chill. I was shocked at how small the player base really is, i knew it wasnt high by any meand but i thought itd be closer to 10000-15000. Also the music reminds me of minecraft music with a more spacey vibe

I play it on Xbox with gamepass, and I hope, it wont get out from there. After 2 years of playing, I finnaly got my bag and finnished the game. I still love it, I wasn't in early access, but I wached some on YT and I miss the storm 😉. I play it sometime on weekends, to calm me down. Btw what woudl you say abaut animations/trailers... ?/10 ?
It's a 9 out of 10 for me. It looks really cool plus it's so smooth as well!
I think the problem is in the continuity of the game, I played it and from my experience I started to get bored when I activated all the cores, I already had my base and finished the game. I no longer had anything else to do. The only way I would play again was if they release an update, which I play for a day and finish it, and so I return to the same problem of not having anything to do.
I also feel that one day these updates will end because Sistem Era has nothing more to add, at which point the game will die for a long time.

I've played through this game a multitude of times alone and with friends but it feels boring now, I love it but there's nothing new to me, Z1 did make a video about why he doesn't play it anymore and I feel the same way, it's a good game but we need something new. There's an update with a new vehicle, you join your old save and you get it very quickly, Less than 30 minutes and then what? We need more planets and resources but I will always stand with this game
Astroneer became what every other space-themed game failed to be. A game which accurately simulates the feeling of being in space. It makes you question if there's more, and once you start questioning the surroundings. You stumble upon weird artifacts of civilisations, with technology you cannot comprehend. Only after you begin questioning the surroundings, you realise something else - you don't even know who *you* are. Sure, you can see your playermodel and customize it, and you could take it as an empty vessel to insert yourself into, but what are your motives again? Why were you dropped into this system? You clearly work for someone, but who are they, and what do they want out of you? You're never told to feel this way, there is no NPC or log note making you suddently question everything, and yet they clearly went for that feeling. The game tasks you to go collect resources, bulk-craft, etc. and sometimes you're left doing nothing, but not for long enough that you get bored.
And here is where the graphics come in. The game forces you to stop and smell the flowers, to look to the sky and see how much there still is out there. It gives you plenty of time to think about all these questions, and well - you really aren't in a hurry, so why not take a break?
