How do you follow up a story quite as crazy as Carnosaur? Simple! Discard absolutely everything except for one shred so you can prove what you are making really is a sequel, and save even more money by using a script that everyone already knows! This brings us Carnosaur 2, a Roger Corman production that.. seems pretty damn similar to something else I know...

Pretty sure it was a homage to Brett from Alien.
Well, maybe a future Carnosaur film could expand on that one theme: "Carnosaur: Bitchslapped by Dinosaurs" All the characters run around in terror while the creatures chase them, landing incredible cheap shots and sucker punches.

Y'know, watching this as a kid, those suits don't look that bad. As kids, my mind was just filled with "dinosaur, dinosaur, dinosaur, dinosaur".

Ultra Giga Nigga true but I feel like he tries a bit hard to be funny sometimes. A lot of the things he says are not inherently funny in any way but he just says them in a funny voice to try and get people to laugh. It’s really quite a lazy tactic.

Interesting that on the box for the VHS/DVD showed the T-Rex picking up a woman in a red dress with it's jaws, probably ended up on the cutting room floor because that woman along with that scene is not in the movie at all!!! And this wasn't some kind of box art, but an actual scene that was filmed and cut from the movie.

I had a thought... why didn't they have all the eggs Tiptree had in the last movie be where this movie's dinosaurs came from? Now, it's been a long time since I've seen the first Carnosaur, but as far as I remember, those eggs survived. Plus it would tie it with the first movie. Why couldn't they just say they found Tiptree's eggs after curing the virus, moved it to the uranium mine for safekeeping, and they hatched and that Burk-esque guy is there to investigate the situation and let the government know if what they think has happened has in fact happened?
Edit: I did some research, and... apparently, that's exactly where the eggs came from. They were surviving eggs from Tiptree's experiment and were stored in the plant by the government. Of course, this still begs the question of _why_ they stored those there without telling anyone, but at least now we know where they all came from.

It ain't a rip-off
Remember when I said that Carnosaur 3 flat out ripped off the climax of the first movie? Well, I was wrong...I thought that the third one literally just used stock-footage of the final battle with the T-Rex, with barely any new footage. Looks like this movie is the one to do it. But all in all, I was so distracted by how badly it stole from it's own series, that I didn't even realize it was ripping off Aliens.
A funny thing; I remember 2 summers ago watching this movie, and Carnosaur with some friends online. Anyway we compared the first one to Alien the way they give birth is almost similar to the chestbursters. Now the sequel we thought of as more like Predator; cause the way the raptor makes the sound is the predator clicking sound.

Roger Coreman may not be afraid of getting sued by Steven Spilberg or James Cameron. Unfortunately he's not going to risk getting a literal ass kicking from Axel Rose or Tommy Lee. For adding their music to his movie without their permission, so we're stuck with eminent domain.
Jesse's friend never had an explanation for how he died obviously it was a raptor but they showed the lizard that one guy had at the beginning who had even less importance then Jesse's friend

Carnosaur was based on a book, the author I don’t like the movie but he was very lad the movies brought more attention to the book.
For what its worth, this movie is a guilty pleasure in the fact that it likely inspired Dino Crisis. Its admittedly bad, and not at all a film to be held to a standard, but I feel like I'm watching a live Dino Crisis movie when I watch C2 as a standalone film. Plus, the amount of detail that went into the props in just about record time was insane, and gave me newfound respect for what effort went into the Carnosaur movies.

My parents let me rent those movies as a kid. (Dinosaurs on the cover seemed innocent enough haha) One day I was trying to describe it to a friend and he kept saying, "dude that's aliens." I was defensive at first but half way through describing it I was like, "well shit, you right." Just got done watching it after a good 15 years. Loved your review. Since there was 95% rip off of aliens, it may just be me, but did the character Reed come off as a Macready rip off from John Carpenter's the Thing?

Yeah the average temperature at that range from a blast that big is likely more than 5000 kelvin the Helicopter's blades would melt and the people inside would boil in their skin within seconds, if it was a nuke the temperature at that range would be 1million kelvin or greater and they would have ceased to be the instant they registered the light from the blast lol.
