- This is part 4 of a 9 part video series on how to rebuild a Toyota 4X4 solid front axle. In this video we show how to rebuild the steering Knuckle and Spindle. It applies to 1979 to 1985 Toyota 4X4 Pickups and 1984 and 1985 Toyota 4Runners. These instructions can also loosely apply to the Toyota Land Cruiser and Suzuki Samurai. Great video except
You neglected to show the correct orientation of the spindle bushing.
Does the "X"inside the bushing go up, down, front, or back??
My 1990 4runner was doing a buzzz noise and the spindle bushing was the problem ....3 auto shop couldn't find the problem they told ooh is the differential😣 And at the end I found the problem.. it was the SP and thank to this video I done my work and happy end ..thank you!!

Can I tighten the spindle studs to the knuckle with the dual crossthreaded nuts method like in the ball joint stud removal step???
On your website are 2 kinds of brass bushing available. Inner and outer, with different length. In the video we can see only one being replaced. Which one is used in the video? And what is the use of the other? Thank you
Can I wire wheel the knuckles and stuff like I did the axle? Why do you specify sand blasting?
Isn’t there meant to be grease packed into the steering knuckle

What media do you recommend for sand blasting the knuckle housing and diffs?

Hard to see this absolutely no-professional bush extraction. Normally should be used suitable extractor, no hammer.
