The creator has actually said that Brute's extreme homophobia is only because he is, in fact, homosexual and is ashamed of himself. Like many men who are closeted gays, they cover up their sexuality with homophobia.
Actually, if you listen to him while he's hypnotized he'll start complimenting Delta's figure and explaining that women just don't get him like men do. If anything, the extreme homophobia and huge physique is a way to convince people he's not gay. Quite sad really.

Yeah, it's a disturbingly universal problem that most of the enemies, if not all of them, make about ten or fifteen total sounds out of the plethora they're supposed to be stocked with. Spider Splicers seem to make the same damn death scream every time.
Same here with pretty much every splicer in both games, and I've played both of them (and the DLC) twice. There's dialogue I can quote by heart ("You call that tenderloin? If you serve that in any respectable hotel in New York, they'd laugh you out of town!" by Lady Smith, for example), I've heard it that often. Most of the dialogue, however, I haven't heard even ONCE.

They need to make Bioshock 4 take place in Rapture again, where you get to play as a Brute, epic one-liners and all. It'll be like Duke Nukem, only awesome.
Everyone who is wondering about the brute. I was on the wiki looking up random facts about the game and a producer confirmed that the homophobic remarks are apparently because he was "closeted" before everything went to shit. So since I never played B2 I hadn't any idea what they were talking about. Although in retrospect their was a gay couple in Bioshock Infinite Burial at sea holding hands looking out to the sea so I don't know how that makes sense.
Well if you know Bioshock Infinite's ending, playing off the multiple universe's theory, it's possible that in Burial At Sea, you're in a universe where homosexuality is more accepted than it was in the ACTUAL 1960's, hence why the Brute is saying what he is. But another explanation could be that Brute (whatever his real name is) was closeted on the surface, and when he got into Rapture, after denying it so much, it becomes common practice, and is slowly coming out of the closet with some of the comments he makes (which is when you use the Hypnotize plasmid on splicers, they'll compliment you).
I never thought about the whole alternate universe thing might effect that kind of thing. I wonder what other types of things could be changed because of the time hole things.
