    Would you buy this one? This isn't my style, but...if I was going to buy one I'd definitely get an obnoxious color like orange or bright green. How about you? Also, I had a bit of a problem with my camera so I couldn't include everything I wanted in this video. A couple things I missed:
    (1) the storage under the center armrest is small, but includes 2 usb ports, an AUX port, and a power port (all super useful);
    (2) the glove box is a decent size and include a small shelf (I love that);
    (3) the front passenger leg room isn't great, there's a large indentation that juts into the space and takes up legroom (it's annoying); and
    (4) visibility out the year window is fair at best.
    Sorry I couldn't get all that into the video. Anyway, SUPER fun rental. Please check this one out if you can!

      Would and did. Been driving a 2015 SXT Plus for 5 years as my daily driver. No AWD. Much of my drive is bumper to bumper, so I really don't miss having a V8. I got it for $31K loaded with every possible option except I went for the Alpine system. Overall, best daily driver I've ever owned.

      Yea, I got the car not too long ago and I gotta say I've been happy with it and haven't had really any issues. Parking did take some practice of course but other than that it's a lot of fun and a great car.

    Despite being a v6 and a decade old design, the Challenger is still my favorite muscle car. The 3.6 Pentastar v6 is also a great engine, I have one in my Jeep and it’s got more than enough power.

    I have a 19 scat pack. Hellcats, in my opinion, have too much power for a daily driver. Scat packs are the sweet spot at 485. I've seen reviewers bash the interior styling but I like it. Its not complicated and is befitting the nature of the car which is styled after a 70s challenger. I feel the back seat is fine. Its far better than the mustang and camaro back seats. The same can be said for trunk space. It does handle well for a large car. I also have a bit of difficulty parking due to its size. No regrets though. I'm glad you liked it! Overall challengers are very comfortable (like a couch on wheels), practical and fun to drive.

    • @The_Don_Doir
      @The_Don_Doir Před 4 lety +4

      Agreed, I have ah 19 RT and the i think the scat pack would be just enough power. Rt is fun to drive but the extra almost 100hp would be cool too. And let's be honest mustang's and cameros are cool but NOTHIN sounds like a challenger

      Mines almost identical to this one, 19 SXT AWD in Destroyer Gray. You’re right though, the Scat Pack is the overall sweet spot. I went with the AWD because I live in snow country and needed a daily driver. But I’m keeping room in the garage for a fair weather Scat Pack or Hellcat someday.

    I’m on my second Challenger. My first was a Black 2015 SXT plus and I had it until last year and traded it in with 121k miles for another new Yellow SXT plus model. Mine has all the features led headlights, rain sense wipers, heated seats/ wheel and cooled seats, blind spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, alpine audio & track pak. I love it as a daily driver especially with as much driving as I do. It is very comfortable and gets pretty good fuel economy for being a muscle car. The yellow definitely turns heads! My only wish is they would add front parking sensors or front camera since it is a lower car and lane departure alert would be nice.

    Yes the transmission will automatically stay on AWD in the winter , when it rains and when it’s on sport mode. However what you didn’t know was that in the spring and Summer time . If you turn off sport mode you will see the transmission configuration on the screen from AWD to RWD only . ITS AWESOME.

    Don't know why you wouldn't buy a car you love to drive. The Challenger, Charger, and Chrysler 300 are the last of a dying breed. FCA (Fiat Chrysler America) finally got all the kinks out after almost a decade of production and they are quite reliable now. That V6 will go 200k miles easy. That AWD is what makes it cost north of 32k. A regular brand new SXT has MSRP of ~30k but there's a long list of them around me on Autotrader for ~22k. Plus package models (~34k MSRP) are about 26-27k here. That's leather seats, Alpine speakers, bigger / better touch screen, fog lights, wifi hotspot, heated leather steering wheel, etc. As others said, buying a certified 1 year old with under 20k is the smart move. I see them ~22k with the plus package and more.

  • @jordanking6939
    @jordanking6939 Před 4 lety +2

    I think with any rental car, you'll have their perks. I driven several Dodge Challengers. The SXT isn't a slow car (0-60 in 5.8 seconds) and has more power than a typical rental. If you're at the airport and if they have sporty vehicles, this is a nice car to rent. Once you drive an R/T with the V8 Hemi, you'll lose interest in the V6. The downside with these cars they're large, heavy, and poor handling.

(and i have had somewhere around 100 cars in my lifetime) MY SXT CAME WITH AN ALPINE STEREO, 20 INCH WHEELS AND SO MUCH MORE! People think because its a 6 cyl its not fast. Let me tell you it pushes almost as much horse power as the 1970 8cyl Challenger. The only thing i wouldve liked was some "exhaust noise OR SHOULD i SAY MUSIC" with this car. Then it would sound as good or great as it drives, AWD HERE I COME!!

    • @dokiboki9432
      @dokiboki9432 Před 4 lety +5

      The GT and SXT both have the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine. They’re both basically the same car just that the SXT has a base model and a Plus model. The plus model has upgraded seats, pedals, and other features. The SXT is only rear wheel drive as for the GT is all wheel drive to make it easier to drive in harsh environments like snow. The GT can also function as RWD too. From all of the GT’s I’ve seen in person they’re equipped already with mostly the same features as the SXT plus. It’s all based on what your preferences are, do you want an AWD+RWD or a plain RWD V6?

    I’ve currently got a 2019 Nissan Rogue sport s with 5,325 miles as rental from national. I’ve never tried this vehicle before I’ve only had a mustang. I tried to get one last time but that vehicle had no keys. Right now I’m trying to score a grand caravan either in GT or SXT. But I’ve only gotten a Chrysler pacifica or a Dodge journey and I really do not like those vehicles.

    • @rockhopper01
      @rockhopper01 Před 3 lety +2

      SXT is the lowest trim, although there are several trims within that... SXT, SXT Plus, SXT AWD. GT is next up, which offers some cosmetic and interior upgrades. Then the RT, which is the 5.7L V8. Then the Scat Pack 6.4L. Then Hellcat, supercharged 6.2L. Then the SS is the current top of the line.

    One thing I'll never understand about these new challengers...WHY TF do they make you pull back on to shift knob to shift up a gear and push up to shift down a gear? Every other car I've been in is the complete opposite...

    • @secondmouse9458
      @secondmouse9458 Před 8 měsíci +1

      That's the way race cars with sequential transmissions work, it is set up to make it easier to shift down when braking and shift up when accelerating due to being pushed forward when braking and being pushed backwards when accelerating. This is the way every car should be that has this ability because it just makes sense, but those companies that do it the other way figure that + is for going faster and - is for going slower.

    The Challenger I always had mixed feelings about. It represents a dinosaur in car design. Feels good to drive and comfortable yes but not something I would own. I see many Challengers, Mustangs & Camaros here in Texas so I don't consider them to be anything particularly special. Smaller, more unique sporty imports are kinda my thing. My money instead would go for one of these choices: Subaru BRZ (also called Toyota 86), Mazda MX-5 Miata, Fiat 124 Spider (essentially an MX-5 with different engine & styling) or Nissan 370Z.

      Mr Bowlus Erac has to have one for him first. They’re typically only available at major airports. I used to manage a Hertz location in rural Northern California, and I could never guarantee a certain model. It’s the nature of car rental. It’s one of many reasons I’m a government employee now lol.

    This is probably the single most reliable thing Fiat/Chryslers makes..old design based on an ancient Mercedes rear wheel drive platform and Pentastar V6 that has proven itself decently over the years. Having said that, too much size and bulk in the name of style that doesnt neccesarily translate into interior/cargo room. Even though I like the retro style and these are reportedly great long distance cruisers, the so so fuel efficiency (smaller cars with 4 cyl turbos making near the same HP and more torque do better) kills the the appeal for me, same for some cheaper looking bits in the interior.
