no idea why those visual bugs came up in the render but, its there now 👹
yo my brother i need the outro song now please
(also great video, i recently started project zomboid a few weeks ago after not playing for a while and this helped a bunch)
@@waloogi1479 anytime my man 😎
@@WarmRivet it's funny how you didn't even give him the outro music.
🤨
@@UraniumWolfy he made another comment, I linked it in that before I saw this one 😂
UK. DRILL CRAZY
As known from real life experience, check how many rounds you have before shooting. Count them down as you shoot, it’s got me out of many situations.
Good advice! I have definitely died too many times using guns 😂
I was gonna make a comment on turning around after firing twice with a double barrel shotgun, but this one will do.
As known from real life experience, don’t get married and join the US Army in 2003.
@@addammadd House of ashes??
@@WarmRivet if using a pump action shotgun sprinting will cancel racking a new shell.
The first time i played i spawned in a zombie birthday party and got eaten alive immediately.
Surprise!
I got chased down by a large hoard while i had a broken leg
First time I played I found the shotgun, shot the first zomboid I saw and got overwhelmed by 20 angry zomboids that I attracted
This has got to be the most beginner friendly tutorial among the dozen videos I've watched, learned more here and I'm even more excited to start off my future gameplay
So glad to hear it 💜 thanks so much!
I agree because while others may be more fleshed out, they are like 7-10 videos long or an hour long. This video provides a quick overview
brodie i dont know what ur smokin but i have no idea what i just watched
Honestly this video helped me survive my first day before being bitten in a survivor house, then I went out in a horde of death
agreed ty
Statement: I pretty much never play without Lucky, Cat Eyes, and Wakeful. Those are SO worth it. Wakeful gives you 30% more time before you get tired, Cat Eyes helps you see in the dark a bit better and I do tend to do more at night than I should, and Lucky affects everything you loot. Keen Hearing is also a really good one, giving you more detection range behind you. Very often, that's what gets you, and a grab from behind is usually a guaranteed bite. A bite = death.
When you are new, it's also better to stick to a weapon type and get the appropriate occupation/perk for it. You're much better off sticking with one weapon type rather than alternating between a bunch of weapons (though you will have to do that at first, for a little while) because as you build up skill you do more damage with the weapon type and as your maintenance levels up the time between repairs gets longer.
Short blunts are plentiful, short blades not so much (and most knives are better suited for other things or saving for stealth kills)
Long blunts are pretty good and somewhat common to find, and the crowbar lasts a really long time especially with maintenance skill
Long blade is much more rare, and is not recommended until you start finding machetes or katanas on zombie bodies (usually day 40+ gives you the chance of that, I think).
Axes are good, and you can find handaxes and fireaxes relatively easily in fire stations and emergency vehicles.
Spears are really good, but are incredibly flimsy in the beginning. However, you can make them yourself with easily foraged materials and once you have some skill in it, spears rock.
The most important part of learning this as a new player is NOT to be risky or greedy. Try not to fight more than 1 or 2 zeds at a time unless you have a shotgun. Bear in mind that using ANY gun is very loud, and you can quickly find yourself in a situation where you get mobbed. Shotguns are great for hordes, but will draw in more. Shotguns are the best way to level up Aiming and once you reach at least level 3 then you can use pistols more reliably.
If you only find a pistol for a while, an alternative way to level up Aiming is to push a zombie over, stand on it, and aim at it's head. When you are standing on a downed zombie, it can't get up. This is especially good with the M9 or M36, as they are relatively quiet.
My guy is roleplaying as a cat. Those are all cat-like traits lol
lucky is hardly worth the bonus it gives
Lucky doesn’t exist, I’ve looked through all the traits; it’s not there
@King29Lewis lucky is in fact a positive trait in zomboid
@@King29Lewis lucky does exist. iirc it gives a 10% extra chance to find rare loot when searching containers, but its not as good as it sounds. if something has a 1% chance to spawn, lucky makes it a 1.1% chance so its barelt worth even a single point imo
If you pick very underweight, always counter it with the Fit trait (it is avaible, and it will leave your fitness the same as before while still giving you positive points.)
Also, the weak stomach traits is essentially free points because once you get a can opener food is too easy to stockpile
Very true!
literally out of all the tutorials i have ever watched for any games this one was the most understandable and helped me lol. When i started i wasnt choosing sandbox and was choosing the hard combat thingy so i was wondering why it was so hard. Thanks alot man
Glad to hear it! Make sure you check out the other ones once you’ve gotten through your first week or so :)
One of the best vids for beginners I will definitely be rewatching this when I start my first play through.
Thank you so much! Means alot
thank you for this!! i just got the game and have been a bit overwhelmed trying to learn it lol. your precise wording and visuals are really helpful!
Anytime comrade 😎
How are you doing 1 year on? I played a game and got so overwhelmed and haven't touched it since 😂
@@RyanCarbo96still an avid player! it’s definitely overwhelming at first.
my biggest advice is to take it slow. dont be too hard on yourself. learn the mechanics, see what you like in the gameplay. you’re going to die a LOT.
i have 600+ hours in this game and still struggle. just recently lost my longest save and am back to square one. but for me, that’s part of the fun! starting fresh and learning from your mistakes to try something new.
i prefer a more casual style of working on a base, farming, collection, that kind of stuff. ive been having some fun with louisville runs recently though.
best of luck!!
I just bought project zomboid, played a few times, learned by myself, now with this tutorial, it added a bunch of knowledge, I'm always confused about Traits. Thank you!!!!
You’re most welcome, go have a blast!
"the house you spawn in will be safe"
Me: *dies 5 minutes ingame because some zomboids were inside my base at the moment of spawn*
I’ve honestly never had that happen, my bad 😂
HAHA!! these comments are hilarious
Yeah I also had a zombie break into my house and fuck me in the first 5 mins.
@@iamradicalayooo? 😮
I just got the game and spawned in a house full of zombies with birthday hats 10/10
As someone with a lot of hours in. I learned nothing, but I love watching tips and tricks vids while eating dinner lol. Fun video, good job
I do that with all the beginner tutorials too, the infinite quest for knowledge 😂
I really needed this thx. Literally got traped in a bathroom with a horde not 2 minutes in. Looking forward to watch more
It's also worth mentioning that walking on broken glass without shoes will in fact injure your character's feet, and can cause bleeding.
nah let em find that one out the hard way, can’t give ‘em everything ;)
Also applies to walking in the forest, shoes are important
My friend you are a lifesaver! This game has been sitting in my backlog for MONTHS because I was getting wrecked everytime I tried to play it. You're exactly right, the learning curve is STEEP! Thanks! SUBBED!
No worries legend, hope you can start having fun in the game 💜
finally someone who explained how to start the game and not die in 5min. thanks !!! amazing video.
Anytime, get slayin 😎💜
"The house you spawn in will always be safe"
*immediately spawns in with a zombie already banging on my window*
This is a really nice guide you've made here! Keep it up.
Thanks heaps! Make sure to look out for the next one 😎
Smoker and organized are also extremely good traits, especially Smoker as there are thousands of smokes readily aviable. And smoking decreases stress anyway, So its literally just free point.
Class video! I've had project zomboid downloaded for months but never played it. Your video has made me jump right in. liked & subscribed! KEEP SLAYING!
Thank you so much for this! Me and my friend got this game yesterday and quit early because we had no idea what we were doing or what we should be doing. Great video
Anytime, glad you’re now having fun with the game :)
Keep an eye out for my next videos, they will help you take your gameplay to the next level!
i went to the bathroom during the tutorial then got killed by a horde in said tutorial without ever learning of the antidote
Wow thanks for tips man. Im planning to play this and im excited to play this after school
Just started this game and your videos have by far been the most helpful.. I didnt even realize you could speed up time!
Glad I could help!
This is one of the best beginner videos I've watched. Quick to the point and plenty of info while still staying on topic
I appreciate that!
im a complete newbie to the game, just got it yesterday and this video is REALLY helpful!!!! thank you
Glad to hear it! 💜
-If you are bandaged, periodically check your bandages on your status menu and replace them when they are dirty. Just like in real life it will prevent infection. Additionally, you can clean dirty bandages by having water in your inventory.
Thank you!
This video was a MASSIVE help, tysm!
Anytime! Thanks for checking out the vid :)
Been considering this game for my Deck, thanks so much for such an in depth guide to get started!
Anytime 💜
Lol I bought it even before my deck arrived. It really takes you, it's a nice game. Actually it's one of the reasons I bought the steam deck 😄
Lmao the flag popping up when he’s doing the stab animation is brilliant
good job dude, i had no idea there were many people playing this game anymore but judging by your view count there's still a bunch.
great video...nice music at the end too!
New to the game and was just gonna watch and move on but because you listen to phonk I'm subing. Great video ty
Great tips, just started this game a few days ago...oh boy wtf I sign up for ! Cheers
Great videos man. I've been binging them since I started PZ
thanks heaps, glad they are helping
Really informative and straight to the point, Subbed. Just got into this game.
Glad I could help ❤
One thing. Never leave your car on. It will lure zombies and by that you won't be able to enter it. Park a car in a safe spot, it's better to run away from zombies than trying to get into car where zombies are all around.
Depends on the situation entirely in my opinion. :)
best guide ive seen in detail and fun to watch
Thanks so much! Really means a lot 💜
Thanks for the Video, helped me getting started. Keep up that great work and effort! Btw. the UK Flag with the Kitchen Knife made me laugh for like 10 minutes^^
Haha glad you enjoyed 😂💜
You have some talent. Thanks for this.
this guide is so helpful! i’m currently doing a play through with my sister where we’re polar opposites who balance one another out e.g she’s deaf and i have keen hearing and i’m cowardly/clumsy and she’s brave/eagle eyed. this has helped us so much, thank you!
Glad to hear it, what a cool playthrough 💜
Thanks for the video!
Anytime 💜
For a new player I would add 100 points to the traits.
For an advanced player this is way OP, but a new player might find that keeps them alive long enough to learn the games mechanics.
I just started playing, I ad 50, 0.4 slow shamblers populations. Imediat power shut down. It gets very realistic to be honest. Theres many zombies, but few hordes. Since I already in intermediate level, I pu food and everything in very rare. Its fun
Thank you friend, super helpful! I'm so bad at this game and you've made my life so much easier!
Glad to hear it!
Best video for beginners with all info you need that I found so far👍
Glad it was helpful!
legend thanks, best beginner guide, helped heaps.
I’m glad it helped 💜
I just bought the game last night and am now playing the game. Thank you for the information. It's helpful.
Glad I could help!
8:48 I LOVE how you can see the character's face transition from human, to zombie!
this is such a good tutorial honestly for new people definitely gonna share it
Thanks legend, really appreciate it! Have a look at part 2, see what you think 😊
Great video and editing!
Thanks so much!
best game tutorial i've seen on a game in a LONG TIME
thank you sir 🫡
20 hours in and figured alot of this out, great vid prob should of watched it first

Dude! This vid is awesome! Thank you very mucho! Saludos desde Argentina.
Never ever thought i would write this down but TYSM for the advice to start as a bugler !
I’ve never been a gamer and I’m struggling enough with just the buttons on my pc lol but i bought this game to release my stress a bit ( father is currently dying bc of cancer ) and these tips helped me to the point i lived for 3 days instead of 12 hours !!! 😅
I’m so sorry to hear that, sending all my love 💜 Glad I could be of some help
Bro even has a phonk tune at the end what a G
I highly recommend spawning in Muldraugh as there is places that offer great hiding from the zombies and also has less zombies
Good vid my guy I’m now the best at the game after watching this!
glad to hear it 😎
Subbed with bell 🔔 on for this video alone ❤
Thanks heaps legend, means alot
What a great Vid Bro
thank you 💜
cheers vic
Just got the game. Thank you :)
glad I could help :)
Great tutorial, I am about to get this game today
Thank you! Im sure you’ll have a blast! Make sure to stick around for the next episode as I will teach you a lot more :)
Yea I can’t lie. As someone starting to play with their friend. This has helped a lot. Ready to get off work and try to not die lmao
Nimble is op. That’s why I take burglar. It takes ages to level it too. Conspicuous seems to not do much adding to them seeing you but inconspicuous is great .. keen hearing is always a must for me. I also prefer to take traits that add something you cannot get just by levelling up normally. Like strength is so expensive but you will gain all the benefits of that when you naturally level up so 10 points you may as well take things like keen hearing or lucky or outdoorsman all the ones that add something you can’t get otherwise!
This advice might be better for more advanced players when you’ve got the killing down pat
This is a good take! I feel you can build your character however you like and you'll have fun either way :)
@@WarmRivet absolutely that’s what makes this game just get better with age.. as they add more it just makes it easier and easier to play any way you like. If you don’t like killing the zeds but love farming and stuff you can have low pop and up all the abundance around you, if you like guns there’s mods for more of everything, literally anything is possible in this game and once animals come in we will have a whole other dimension in the game! I personally can’t wait for the better npcs .. now that’s going to open up a whole load MORE options for customisation! I would recommend this game to anyone honestly, it’s truly brilliant. (I have over 4.5k hours and I’m still not sick of it!)
I am super excited for the games future, they are doing a brilliant job with it!
Watching this for the info, subscribing for that union jack drop.
really helpful new subscriber :)
Why thank you 💜
nice informational video, thanks 😁
Glad you enjoyed it! The next one will be out soon 😎
5:36 thank you for the representation 😂
As someone who just started the game this video was very helpful.
I’m glad, I hope it helps you have fun instead of getting frustrated 💜
Thanks for this! I'm trying to get into the game but find it a bit overwhelming. Subscribed!
Anytime, glad I could help ❤
Thank you i watched all your tutorials, it really helped me but still i need some practice. + (i just bought the game)
thanks heaps for the support, feel free to join the discord, plenty of helpful people in there!
thanks for the guide appreciate it
Anytime, editing the next one as we speak!
Excellent video, thanks. You aren't kidding about the learning curve, either. I thought I was safe reading a book and cooking food while learning the controls/menus, then the glass broke...
You don't need to start at 5AM because the cooking show will start when you spawn so you just need to turn the TV on and you'll get the XP. Though I will admit that by starting at 5 AM it gives you a window to not miss the show and still do other things before it starts.
As for slow reader it is a matter of preference. Yes you can speed up time but it is annoying to spend nearly an entire day to just read a book. Especially if you are trying to maximize your XP gain with the TV shows.
If you start a game like 6 month later, 10 years later or without electricity then yes slow reader is in my opinion worthy of being taken. But with speed reading, you can read a first level book between shows. So again a matter of preference.
But overall a very good walkthrough!
Good take! I’m a VHS watcher personally so I don’t really watch the shows. But thanks for checking out the video!
The outro 🤤
she’s juicy
4:43 "The house you spawn in, will be safe"
_gets eaten alive instantly by zombies in party hats_

Thanks legend, Merry Christmas 💜
Hope you go viral one day man, you are one of the best descriptors I've ever heard from.
That’s an incredible compliment, thank you so much! 💜
How does this only have 7k views? This was awesome.
Thank you so much 💜
Merry Christmas 🎅🏼
thank you for your tips
My pleasure 😊
Thanks for this. I was lost.
Glad I could help
This is a great guide, I almost gave up on the game after my first two playthroughs.
Don’t give up, once you’re good at the game you’ll miss the days of struggling 😂
Thx for the tips
anytime Jim jimmy
Thx! that helped a lot1
Glad I could help!
I followed this guide a fair bit to get started, but took lucky and spawned into a 2 story house. I found a handgun, 30 rounds of ammo, a can opener, duffle bag, plenty of clothes, and First Aid Vol. 1 after starting as a Veteran.
My inevitable demise is going to inflict more trauma than my childhood after a spawn like that.
I had no idea what to expect when I played my first game... which lasted about a minute lol. Love the feel of it though cant wait to get stuck in!
Glad to hear it!
man i wish i had this ive been watching vidros about project zomboid for over a year i want it sb
Started playing
Starter house didn't have any weapon
Found a weapon and instantly died
Great game
Just started my new world yesterday and ive finally survived more than one day! Have guns, backpacks, food, melee weapons, alot of books. I hadnt played in so long because i thought i just couldnt do it. I recommend very underweight because you can gain weight just by eating food regularly.
I just got PZ a couple days ago, and this shows up in my feed... Big Brother is watching. Thanks for the Burglar tip -- I'm already getting tired of walking everywhere with my 800-pound backpack! 😓
Anytime! Keep an eye out for the next video, it will be another tutorial but more advanced :)
Great tutorial bruh
thanks king
instructions unclear, I'm dead in the first 5 minutes cause there is no weapon in my house
your foot is a good weapon ;)
A career such as construction worker is a much better option than burglar due to its 3 points into short blunt that can make early game super easy. You can always learn how to hotwire by increasing your mechanical and electrical skill
The man likes zombie games and the finest warm beer. Bravo

woahhh i started in the exact same house as you lol
