    You convinced me to get this car. I now have a Black 2014 Honda Accord Sport with the CVT. This is the best deal in the Accord line up. The seats are supportive and with the fabric you dont really need seat heaters unless you drive naked. I get 33 mpg in the daily 90 mile round trip commute, thus filling up once per week. Pandora and Hands free calling is great. Apart from a few adding on like tinting, splash guards, truck liner, led bulbs, and door sill scuff plates and a just waiting from the aftermarket to come up with something that allows me to mirror my phone interface on the 8 inch screen. The Sport in black with a tasteful tint looks some much more expensive that it price. Great job Honda and Everyman Driver Honda should cut you a check.

  • @mini_frank

    you shouldn't launch at more than 4000rpm, or the wheel spin really kills the time, my best is 6.7s at no altitude in a summer morning, peak torque is at 3900s, 1st to 2nd shift at 6500ish before the rev lim close the throttle , 2nd gear redlines at 65-70mph, launch at 3500 ish gives the best traction with the stock tires,

  • @997speedy
    @997speedy Před 9 lety

    Everyman Driver just small tip, traction off, little less revs and make sure the wheel is straight first, so 1 wheel dosent just spin. great video though man, getting better at hem for sure

  • @jethzeeltorres9727
    @jethzeeltorres9727 Před 9 lety

    The reason why you need to drive a honda all the way to red line it's cus around 6500 vtec kicks in which pushes more oil in to your your camshaft through the vtec solenoid and makes you're cams elevate higher than normal to make more power on higher rpms . Just like Vvti on Toyota but better hehe.
    It's like having normal camchafts throughout the the lower rpms and then having some street racing cams at higher rpms .

  • @shawnwriede9382
    @shawnwriede9382 Před 9 lety +1

    He would get his best times if he revved it less (say only 2000 - 2500 rpm) without traction control, and rev it to the redline, it has vtec.

      To get the best time you need to spin as little as possible. In a front wheel drive where traction is lost because of weigh transfer, you must be more delicate with the accelerator on launch.

    • @gmualum08
      @gmualum08 Před 8 lety

      He is in Washington state or something like that. At approx. 2,000 feet above sea level the air is thinner so the engine has to work harder to get the same air fuel mixture which affects combustion. Less efficient combustion =slower zero to sixty times. I'm willing to bet you didn't test your 0 to 60 times at 2,000 feet above sea level.

    @kelseymafia Před 9 lety

    You're short shifting, spinning the tires way too much... good journalism if you consider that this is about as good as an average driver will do, but really not showing the real capabilities of the car. Shift at the redline. When you launch, give it a little bit of revs and go about half throttle to 3/4 throttle and slowly get on the gas more as the car hooks up. It sounds like you are just flooring it and letting the clutch out and letting traction control sort it out.... or just waiting for the tires to eventually hook up, and since these cars have so little power, they will hook up eventually. You need to launch in a way that borders the limits of traction while giving the maximum amount of power possible. As in, minimal to no wheelspin, while also not giving so little gas that you are too slow. Try launching like this in a RWD car the same way you are doing here and you will end up in one of those trees in the background.

      this car isn't that powerful where you have to do those things. it's just not a very fast car, period. this is an 8 to 8.5 second car at the elevation he's at. or maybe 7.5 at sea level. The reports of this car being in the 6 second range are hogwash, going downhill type of recording.
