Speed Highway in the beggining was looking like Adventure, because of the speed boosters.
I used to do this alllll the time, and it’s a testament to how Generations’ Modern Sonic gameplay is a perfect blend between Adventure and Boost gameplay
If there was Achievements (if theres already not), If you beat all the levels without boost, you get an Achievement called "Adventure Era"
It's nice how Sonic is actually fast enough without boosting.

Kirigaya Kazuto Well the boost formula is no where near as good as the Adventure formula since it doesn’t allow for as great level design and controls like ass when you’re not running in a straight line.

I really think that both adventure fans and boost fans could be pleased with well executed level design that focuses more on platforming and if they made the boost limit shorter. So there would be levels where you can't boost at all cause you don't get enough boost energy in the level. Then there could be levels that are meant for boosting and you'd get much more boost energy in those levels. But most levels would be a balance between mostly adventure gameplay and maybe a bit of boosting.
Only Super Sonic would have unlimited boosting abilities.

@@coleminer8847 I haven't played Sonic Colors, so I don't know. Based on what I've seen from the gameplay of Sonic Colors, I think there's too many 2D sections in the game. It relies too much on the wisps (I get that wisps are the whole point of the game, but I prefer more traditional Sonic gameplay.) Also the levels seem too short for my taste.
Also, I haven't really seen that much Adventure style platforming in Sonic Colors. My impression of Sonic Colors is that it's mostly either boost gameplay or 2D platforming. It lacks proper 3D platforming based on what I've seen. I could be wrong since I haven't played it.
The first half of Planet Wisp on Sonic Generations is really great. That's the kind of 3D platforming that's been missing in many modern sonic games.

Thank heaven, I'm not the only one who feels this way! Like, I enjoy using the boost at specific instances, but I honestly find it alot more gratifying to rely on Sonic's other moves and proper platforming. You really feel how large and intricate the levels are that way. Plus, while I's Generations Sonic controls pretty well, I think he's just a little too loose when boosting (though quick stepping can correct this if the situation allows for that).

To be completely honest, I actually enjoy Generations alot more when boosting very sparingly, if at all. You seem to platform alot more when not using it, which I like; and in that, I can actually appreciate the intricacies and scale of the level design far more. That's my opinion, at least.

And thats why Sonic 4 is the way it is. Dimps probably put the Sonic Rush physics into it, but it doesn't work without the boost.

I just came to realisation that we shouldn’t blame sonic team for not making sonic forces at improvement over the last few 3D sonic games like sonic unleashed and and generations as we should know by now that “New” people have been developing the game and one that has only worked on Lost World. As we can tell the difference in terms of gameplay here in this video it shows just how Forces could have been soo much of a better game than it is if the experienced people in Sonic team worked on Forces. The animations are soo much more with the experienced people compared to new ones.

Que es, en los juegos boost normales puedes ir rápido sin el boost, pero en frontiers el boost es básicamente un botón de correr, para el próximo juego necesitan hacer que aunque este el boost tu mismo puedas conseguir velocidad solo corriendo
You can get around 2:36 On Rooftop Run Without boosting with the right skills equipped.
Honestly the game actually feels more enjoyable at times without boosting and actually allows you to react to certain things in 2D. It also doesn't allow you to entirely skip platforming sections by just jumping and boosting. It makes me hate that the game is so short because the levels are designed around the boost even though it's only real use is to mow down rows of enemies and making the levels shorter than they already are. For real I would love a game with Generations 3D level design with no boost and a spin dash/roll.

The fact is the boos in sonic next gen ruins the series. When you press the button, you go faster and kill every ennemies so it is to much easy... they must replace boos for spindash.
@Welp no. The spin dash, you have to charge it before releasing and its effect is not infinite. Boost is nearly infinite.
