I'd like to have seen a real-time side-by-side comparison of the water graphics when the water was a focus.
The reason there are barely any water texture mod comparison videos for GTA V is due to CZcams's compression. It really is best to download and install it then go in-game and take a video at the same time of the day (can be done with a trainer/mod)

Hi I am the creator of the water mod. You can see it on the page and really like others have said will not look as good in game as when you install it.

Does anyone remember how realistic GtA IV was? The damage to cars was almost limitless. The driving was less responsive but in a good way. It felt so realistic. GTA IV was so ahead of its time

I mean, there was GTA 4 mods that made it look better than GTA 5 vanilla before it was release. And to be honest modders nowadays can make a better job than many developers when it comes to delivering fun experiences like FiveM TheIvaneh's server. Unlike the money milk games that devs gives to their costumers. Yes I'm looking at you Grand Theft Loading Simulator Grind or Sharkcard Online.

I guess the difference here is that Rockstar actually have to develop 'the game' (environment, script, narrative, technology, code, assets) as well as the graphical effects and post processing. Then the community can run wild with additional effects.
Yes but some mods add new mechanics to the game it's not always just graphic.
Modders can add weapons, blood and even add new behaviours for Npcs
The reason to not implement it also is because most of the people won't be able to run it on their PC.

Pair up last mod with PRSA ((PhotoRealistic San Andreas) which is an ENB and you will have same amazing graphics as all the GTA V videos that look like real life.
NaturalV is the last one I installed in like 2017. It's fairly decent, adds realistic sun flares, skydomes, retexturing, all without being resource killing to the point of a lockup. Plus I think it had everything in an OIV package install so you didn't have to manually install a lot. Maybe by now it's totally packaged. I mean beside the extra tweaks and reshade files.
Michael Crider I never use oiv packages, it’s always better to install it manually. That way if your game gets fucked up you know what you changed so you can undo it.
Harris I do that if there are little, to no comments on the package. If I read all the updates and comments and no one seems to have had issue I’ll install via oiv. The only time I had an Issue was with an oiv that was fairly old and the last update had been about a year prior. I was able to go in and manually fix it, but still a pain in the ass. Just be cautious of what you install, and have a back up of anything that maybe affected just in case.

Having played over half these mods and dozens of others for GTAV since 2017. I can honestly say that, while these can make your game look really good. A few of them are photo realistic. However, most of them (due to some textures not being properly compressed mostly) will slow down your game. Sometimes just a few frames here and there, sometimes your framerate will drop into the 30s and below. This ofcourse is unless your gpu is higher end like at least 1080+. Before downloading any of them make sure you have VRAM in abundance. (you're gonna need it)

Yeah when I first downloaded VisualV, I didn't hardly see a difference. I had to go back to some of my previous footage from a month prior just to see the difference of Vanilla graphics vs the VisualV mod. Definitely keeping this one

You do realise that next gen doesn't automatically mean better graphics. The point is that the hardware is powerful enough to run the graphics. They could make games look life life back in 1995 but they were super limited by the hardware at the time. What you just said is what next gen is for they're going to make a game that only a next gen console can run and with next gen hardware they can load a game way quicker and have the most beautiful polished graphics they're capable of
@@derangedcrouton1864 Wrong. Game engines back in 95 had a hard time rendering 3d. So no, it wasn't just a hardware limitation, there was a technological limitation too. It wasn't until the 2005 and beyond where better engines were made.

7:32 that's not a screen space reflection, that's a cubemap that captures LOD 1 models around the player and it's in vanilla GTA V.

The funny thing about those "more realistic" mods is that they just apply a bunch of effects that make everything look less real, like those over the top reflections on the surface of cars. They are way too detailed compared to how they'd look in real life unless the car had just been heavily waxed.
