@@DamonWakefield At 3:09, Teller lifts the deck he's holding and the bottom card appears to be the 6 of spades. I'm guessing they had 52 prepared piles of the same card under the table and Teller switched out the original deck with one loaded with 36 6 of spades to deal out into the piles. It didn't matter which pile and which card she chose, they were all the 6 of spades.
@@1GrilledFoot But how do you then explain 5:26, where it is implied that the pile contained different cards? Teller would have to be palming at least two random cards in his left hand and move the pile behind it. Is that the method you have in mind?
@@Flamelord1302the 6 piles have more than 6 cards each, but she must pick between one and six. The bottom 2 or 3 cards in each pile are random and originated at the top of the deck, but are not accessible for her to select. The rest are all 6 of spades. When teller shows how she could have picked other cards, he’s careful to only show 2 cards from that pile, not revealing the other many 6 of spades.
Teller deals eight cards into each pile. Since only one of the top six cards can be chosen, the bottom two cards are random ones. Teller is very careful to show us only the bottom two cards in each pile and we never see the others because they're all the 6 of spades.
It does appear to be a bit of manipulation in her choices, I think they knew what she was going to say before she said it because they swayed her to picking what they wanted, frequent trick in magic but I believe there's also a lot of card forcing which they give a sneak peak at the beginning
7 cards in the pile, but i for the life of me can't figure out how they got the 6 in there after the last dice throw on 5...which could be a fake die so still possible, lands on what they want...buuut...giving the choice to change their mind after the roll. Yeah, no clue, and even then i think i'm way off :p
So, I suppose it's multiple outs? They just build the trick around her choices? Would explain why the frequency of cards was never relevant in the end.
when Teller puts the cards down, you can see that all 6 of spades. e.g. in 3:01 or 3:28. the fact that he already had the stack in his hand before she chose is probably because the probability that she would take this card was the highest. Otherwise he would have had to take another pile from under the table.
For all we know theres a guy under the table who has 52 decks of individual cards and all Teller needs to do is drop his hands for a few seconds for the switch... you can tell they are all 6 spades as he is slightly flashing when he deals the first pile
What? No, all Teller had to do was put the cards on the bottom of the deck as they were selected. He then waited for Sierra to choose one of the four, and dealt that card from the bottom to the required position. From here it's a guess, but I'd say they have multiple ways of landing on the card in that position depending on the two numbers given. Also Penn making a point to keep an eye on Teller as he slid the pile over was sus.
So I can see how Teller would switch the deck to a loaded one while Penn distracts everyone with the numbers. Sure. But how did they force the 6 of clubs to begin with? She seemed to have free choice with that, and having 52 loaded decks seems kinda unlikely.
They 100% had 52 decks. On the spectrum of prep work magicians will do for an effect, it's not all that crazy. It wouldn't even be the first trick on the show that required 52 decks.
