    I just love the way you work with no plans, just see how things go with the tools and materials that you have. It's my preferred way of working too.

      Leonardo Kalinci. hey I have a shop similar to his, between garage sales, estate sales, Facebook and picking things outta the trash, I built a space with some really great tools for under $1500. Don’t let money hold you down, buy one tool from a garage sale and start with that. Push yourself to make things with that tool or the couple you start with. Before you know it you will have the money saved to go look for something else.

    Lovely little projects/gifts. The brass candle inserts - brilliant idea - but all I can find is a 38mm Forstner bit. When I tried to make the holes in a slice of tree trunk [thought the bark 'live edge' would be cool] the pillar drill kept sticking, so I'll be using cut timber in future, maybe in a 'species sandwich'. I like the random geometric planters, and I think they could also look good done, Shou sugi ban style too. Did the 'spill' of black epoxy proove a little tough to remove - think i'd have shoved it through my thicknesser. But its true, a bit of Danish oil and bob's your auntie!

    • @Badgerworkshop
      @Badgerworkshop  Před 4 lety +1

      I think next time i will use a card scraper to remove the epoxy

    Very nice ideas for Christmas gifts. Thanks for sharing.
    I recently started to make to things out of firewood. In the mean time I found out that my bandsaw isn't the best buy which I ever made.
    It's too small (I can go only up to a height of only 8 cm), not very powerful, the elevating mechanism clogs up very easy (and it's difficult to clean it, takes a long time)
    and the worst part of all is that I'm constantly breaking my saw bands. That's probably my mistake but I don't know how to avoid it.
