    Great job. 💪
You didn’t mention where the oil leak came from.
    Mercedes mechanic from Belgium here.
The oil leak comes probably from the oil filter housing/oil cooler. Very common point of failure on these ones. Hope this helps 🙏

At least the starter is not located inside the bell housing.

No AutoZone starters or alternator for me. They used to have a lot of reliability issues on those items.

No they aren’t. Worst engine Mercedes made!
M271 engine made in 03-05 with supercharger reintroduced with a turbo. No Mercedes mechanic will agree with you! Full on garbage!!

That’s so unfortunate German cars over 100k have so many problems

    • @Verhellen-Automotive

Indeed. Old is gold though. (Talking about Mercedes-Benz) 60’s to I would say max 2010 ish you can get good quality and reliable cars.
The car industry has a few serious cancer’s last years (not limited to German brands):
      - Planned obsolescence
      (quality down the wazoo)
      - Financial structures
(stock market shares/greedy and unqualified managers)
      - Government mandated electric cars production
(It costs car manufacturer’s sometimes up to 30k LOSS per microwave on wheels they sell/economically not viable)
Buy stuff from times when manufacturers were proud of their product.
Spoiler ‼️ Those days are long gone.

not necessarily, mercedes benz in the early 2000's and up to id say 2016 they are pretty reliable and efficient, also with the right tools very easy to work on

At my job they give me on average 57 hrs to do a job and it takes me roughly 12. Customer gets charged for 57........

So you get basically a 6 day work week done in a day and a half huh don't really add up I understand the concept I used to be a mechanic but i don't believe what you said one bit

    • @jacksautorepair
      @jacksautorepair Před 2 měsíci

@@Semo_420Yeah, I don't believe it either. The mechanic usually gets screwed big time, almost every time. The shop owner got the gold and mechanic gets the shaft. Cheated out of half your labor hours.
This is by design and it's never going to change, for the better. Here's how the shop owners look at it. What I do is worth gold, and what you do ain't worth sht.
The golden rule, the one with the gold makes the rules! They cut labor time to a minimum and profits have moved to parts. Not to mention they keep jacking up the labor charge per hour to the customer but the mechanics pay is stuck in 1985!

@@Semo_420 Im not talking about car repair shop. This is industrial. Believe it! I can only assume they that they gave me so many hours to do it is that it boosts productivity numbers and makes the shop look more efficient and job security for the managers. Other depts get 10 hrs to do a job and it takes 25 or so. They tell me that it balances out. I'm not a fantastic maniac of a great worker, the numbers are just wrong. I call it cheating the system to keep corporate happy. No lie.
