Have been away from your vids for some time so I stopped by for a visit. We are presently mourning the recent passing of my long-time canine companion, Max. Daily walkers, our daughter calculated that we must have walked the distance from Western NY to Bejing, China. We would have reached Bremen (sp.) easily! She lamented Max couldn’t smoke a pipe with me. You lifted my sorrow for a while. Thanks so much.

You mention that one of the blends is not "a lonely island blend", well, what is your choice for a lonely island blend? Mine would have been a local stg shag cut Virginia Kentucky called "Tiedemanns gul miks", Have a great December 🎅
Glad you are finally able to access Autumn Evening on your side of the water..We carry it in bulk at The Cargohold and it our 2d best selling tobacco right behind Lane 1Q which outsells everything else. I think the secret of its success is just what you describe, it is a very heavily cased blend but the base tobacco is Virginia as opposed to most American aromatics which are white burleyi based. That Virginia sweetness comes through while providing a maple like room note to people around the smoker. We all lust after that small cottage you have there with the fireplace and chiming clock, everone's ideal environment. Merry Christmas Mark. Keep puffin.
Always looking forward for your next video, thanks a lot! Personally I was quite disappointed by many "famous" aromatic tobaccos. They always smell great from the tin, but are quite disappointing in the pipe. Probably the only aromatics I really enjoy are Lakelands, Ennerdale namely. I really hope those "special editions" will get better in quality in future, Anyway, take care!

👍 thanks Mark, that's a good to know video review, I am at a loss for words on pipe tobacco quality, I have many tobaccos to choose from, (30/40) but only a hand full I enjoy, Green box Bob Chocolate, OGS, Vanilla Roll Cake, Three Blind Moose, maybe someday I can enjoy all the others, as the not so good tobacco will take the place of the good tobacco as the quality of tobacco slowly slips into the abyss. Always enjoy these seasonal tobacco reviews. I have never found an aromatic that I really like other than those from the Country Squire in Jackson, Mississippi. Same thing happened to me on a Smoker's Haven blend (by Germain's). They packed the wrong tobacco in the tin from what they had in the sample. Luckily it was just one tin. Cheers.
Great video as always. Complaints are justified when there is unsealed tobacco drying up. I wonder what will happen in Canada since our main tobacco company, Brigham Enterprises Inc., is supplied by Kolhase&Kopp. I haven't tried many of their blends but the ones I have tried are very good. Maybe it won't change much since the blends are already established.
I would like to ask you a question . . . but firstly Wish to echo all of your viewers positive , kind & encouraging comments . Your Channel is overall outstanding & stand above any that I have experienced on CZcams . The question is regarding " ZIPPO butane inserts". Flaunting that flame without the slightest hesitation & total regularity & ease . . . How can I get my hands on such a beast .I have tried several inc the Zippo insert but all failed quite rapidly . Hi Mark, another great holiday review. Can’t buy most of these tobaccos in the U.S except Autumn Evening, which for me burns my throat from the intense maple chemical. I’m not sure why it is so popular, it’s maple tase is too burning intense for me. BTW, what is that certificate hanging behind you? Looked interesting, but I couldn’t read it … I collect and repair antique books, so old documents catch my eye :) Stay well and have a great holiday, catch you on the flip side. 🥃
Dear Mark, I am very new to Pipe tobacco. I only rarely smoke but when I do I enjoy it :) This comes with the problem, that tobacco takes a long time for me to be smoked. So I wanted to ask you what you would recommend how to keep the tobacco. Or maybe you could do a video, which would be super cool :) Id be content with a quick answer though, too :)

I think perhaps all of the blends that can be made with the tobacco we have in the world has already been produced, now it's just a bunch of rehashed recipes. There's truly nothing new in the pipe tobacco world. And that's ok with me, because I've only tried probably a quarter of them. 😂😂

Autumn Evening is a fantastic aromatic. I really like C&D's Golden Days of Yore as a winter aromatic blend.

Same thing happened to me on a Smoker's Haven blend (by Germain's). They packed the wrong tobacco in the tin from what they had in the sample. Luckily it was just one tin. Cheers.
Great video as always. Complaints are justified when there is unsealed tobacco drying up.
I wonder what will happen in Canada since our main tobacco company, Brigham Enterprises Inc., is supplied by Kolhase&Kopp. I haven't tried many of their blends but the ones I have tried are very good. Maybe it won't change much since the blends are already established.
I would like to ask you a question . . . but firstly Wish to echo all of your viewers positive , kind & encouraging comments . Your Channel is overall outstanding & stand above any that I have experienced on CZcams .
The question is regarding " ZIPPO butane inserts". Flaunting that flame without the slightest hesitation & total regularity & ease . . . How can I get my hands on such a beast .I have tried several inc the Zippo insert but all failed quite rapidly .

Hi Mark, another great holiday review. Can’t buy most of these tobaccos in the U.S except Autumn Evening, which for me burns my throat from the intense maple chemical. I’m not sure why it is so popular, it’s maple tase is too burning intense for me. BTW, what is that certificate hanging behind you? Looked interesting, but I couldn’t read it … I collect and repair antique books, so old documents catch my eye :) Stay well and have a great holiday, catch you on the flip side. 🥃
Dear Mark, I am very new to Pipe tobacco. I only rarely smoke but when I do I enjoy it :) This comes with the problem, that tobacco takes a long time for me to be smoked. So I wanted to ask you what you would recommend how to keep the tobacco. Or maybe you could do a video, which would be super cool :) Id be content with a quick answer though, too :)

This is a shame, because I always look forward to this time of year and the tobacco releases for the winter and holiday seasons, my favorite limited editions....at least they used to be.
Although you said there is some light here and there seems to be, we should focus on that!

I think perhaps all of the blends that can be made with the tobacco we have in the world has already been produced, now it's just a bunch of rehashed recipes. There's truly nothing new in the pipe tobacco world. And that's ok with me, because I've only tried probably a quarter of them. 😂😂
