That heavy puffing approach you describe in the Rattray's part of the review, over here in the states we in the pipe club community call that "freight training", meaning over puffing and getting the pipe way too hot and thus bringing out all the artificial notes of the flavoring agents and eventually losing the flavor altogether. Great to see you back at Ronnie's, as a tobacco shop retailer I can tell you that the comraderie of seeing regular customers, who become friends is what it is all about. Keep puffin.

Hi Mark, Oh yeah... so much tobacco, but this year, I will only get the Anno and the Planta Weihnachtstabak. Maybe the Xmas tobacco from Falkum, if they offer one this year. Kohlhase was not my favorite the last times. Saves money to spend for a new pipe😁. I was in Bremen in September and found two really good House-Blends at Ronnies, too sad, you were not there. I moved to Philippines in 2013 just before the typhoon Yolanda... I shipped my pipe collection in a big "balik bayan box" and it arrived at the destination 1 day before the typhoon hit... I lost a Savinelli, a Peterson's African Meerschaum, an Eagle Claw Meerschaum, and a few other novelty pipes (like Chinese brass pipes and an odd ceramic bird + steel-stemmed churchwarden).. I managed to save my 4 favourite pipes however.. A Peterson 302 (system pipe), an Esker Lion-head Meerschaum, and 2 Chacom pipes both from an "en vogue" series from around 2006-2008... One is a straight pipe with a wide stem, and the other is a churchwarden with a red throat... both very stylish! Would love to share pictures.. and thoughts.

I live in the Netherlands. One question .. Where can I buy the Meerschaumpipe you have! Beautiful!!!!! I always smoke 9 mm or 6 mm Filters . So I prefer a Meerschaum with filter. It wouldn't be Christmas without Mark reviewing the holiday blends at Ronnie's Place. When I saw how many tobaccos you were piling up at the beginning I laughed. Unfortunately because of BREXIT importing any of these into the UK would be expensive and the only blend i've seen available over here is the Gawith (nice tobacco), i'm wondering if that picture on the front of the tin is the old Gawith factory? Sadly there's no Peterson Christmas tobacco for the second year running😒. Luckily i've got some Mcclelland Christmas Cheer and quite a few unopened holiday aromatics from previous years in my cellar.
