He said after previously witnessing the despair in front of the Englewood District police station, he wanted to include the migrants in his annual Thanksgiving dinner. CBS 2's Charlie De Mar reports.

The family from Venezuela was much kinder in receiving my meager gift. I highly doubt these people are out to army us out of a country.....but they gonna be if we push them around like this enough. The city couldn't find the money to clean up poor black communities but they sure found it to take care of these illegal migrants and to put some of them up in six hundred dollar a night hotel rooms.

Y’all got to learn to get that hate out y’all heart! God charged me to serve and to do so with love! This is our 7th Annual Hunger Relief where every Saturday before Thanksgiving we distribute meals to over 1000 households in MY COMMUNITY. This was a community dinner (neighbors without family, homeless folks, and migrant families) there was no prioritization given to anyone. The goal is to never have to hold another hunger relief campaign (that’s the bigger picture) but until then I got work to do! See y’all for Christmas where we’re making the day special for over 1000 kids 🙏🏾🫶🏾
