This classic Jimmy Rodgers song probably needs a little bit of explanation for some of you: a mule skinner is NOT a person who skins mules, ok? It is slang for a muleteer, or mule driver and has nothing to do with skinning. Now doesn't that make this song more enjoyable? Also helping the cause is the fabulous sister duo SWEETHEARTS OF THE RODEO!

Blue Grass music lives on! This song reminds of times moving through Muleshoe, Tx.,,up next to the NM border. Early days was a mule town and freight hauler west. Love these songs.
