It's maths, it shouldn't work that way, however, he has an inner demon that knows how to find 3 more gears! Assuming he gets in front, he usually stays there, though it does take time (contrary to what most commentators say) for him to warm up. I wonder if the long format of the game affected Gilding? Michael was playing crazily in those first few legs, love his action! I'm sure he played double speed in those first 5 legs. It's almost like the faster he gets, the more you can feel his confidence oozing, and truly believe that every double is gonna go when he's in that mood! Glad to see he didn't taper off towards the end, as he so frequently does. Relaxed - as the commentators said, was exactly the right word, which is what I think Rob Cross became once his fate had been decided for him.

PDC, how is it that for most of the tournament we miss loads of darts going in doubles, or miss players switching cover shots because the camera doesnt keep up, then randomly the last few days we dont miss any of the action? I'd say it's whoever is directing. The good ones should know the players' likely moves ahead of time. For example Whitlock would likely go t15 on the 8th dart into a 9.
Bristow R.I.P used to do that job for the darts. It's just certain players go for different routes. Like Cross on his 18's or Littler going 16 double 10 on 36. They can't get it right all the time, as players will change finishes up out of the blue. Definitely not an easy job.

There are times when we don't miss a single dart even when a player switches at the last minute or makes an unconventional change in their route, it seems like they at least have someone there that can do it because they have done it many times, but on the other side of the coin they must absolutely have people that cant. But it takes you out of the action and it needs addressing.

i can only watch PDC darts of CZcams as highlights because the real games on Sky Sports are terrible for the breaks and these breaks are ruining the game. Far too many breaks and it affects play.
Same here, the name bugs me also. They started calling it "The big fish" a heck of a lot more since Littler came on to the scene, especially after he performed those cheesy fishing reenactments several times after he hit the 170 finishes. Now they call it that phrase more than ever.
