This introductory-level workshop will focus upon the fundamental concepts and skills needed to explore and analyze begin using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software for the exploration and analysis of spatial data using the QGIS platform.
No prior experience with QGIS or other GIS software is needed, though attendees should be comfortable learning new computer applications, working with the basics of spreadsheets, and managing/organizing computer files.
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
* Define GIS and geospatial concepts and terminology.
* Know the difference between vector and raster data types
* Properly connect and add data to a QGIS project
* Know where to find the attributes of your data in QGIS
* Perform basic selections and queries in QGIS
* Symbolize data by attributes
* Assemble a basic map for export

This was an awesome demo! Thank you for doing this.
Best lecture online!!! Love it! :)
Very good introductory tutorial, well paced, clear and logical. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this amazing beginner's workshop. I got so much familiar with the QGIS after watching and following the entire workshop.
Thank you so much for this Michele! This is really such an amazing tutorial for beginners like me! I loved the little pro-tips you shared too, thanks so much - you rock!
Thank you Michele...excellent workshop
Really helpful for beginners, patient and enough explanation for every step, easy to follow.
Thanks a lot for sharing QGIS knowledge.
Thank you for doing this demo! Tanya-Alabama
Good job, great introduction Thanks from County Down NI
Thank you for this Michele👍
Y'all are doing great work, thank you
Hi. I would like to say "Thank You" for taking the time to make this video. I have not watched it all (as yet) but I will. What I have watched has been great. I needed to know how to digitize a line layer and this provided me with the information and I was able to create both a line layer and a point layer also. Thanks again - appreciated :-) Harry Buckley
I am speechless! This class was awesome :)
Thank you very much for the workshop!
I have question about rule-based filter(video 2:17). You sorted only Canary Pines from the whole data with the codes.
I want to know that if I can sort trees on certain locations, such as trss on free-ways, with rule-based filter.
Thank you Michele.
Thank you for your time this has really been very helpful
Very well done. Thank you.
This was great, thanks so much!
I am from Kenya and new to QGIS. Looks exciting
Muchas Gracias

Thanks. You are the best.
I don’t know what this is but people are thanking you so I will too. Thank you.
Thank you very much!
Thank you for your sharing.
Great job
Thank you!
Right a geopacakage for creating a geospatial data ,can we use the raster format file foe creating a cartograph of the technical locations or buildings close to the seismic hazard zone and then to classify and do the sort of labelling or can it probably be used for a data like the hospitals and govt buildings.can we use the QGIS for mapping the underwateer and underground sites like the mines and gas deposits and then controlling on the contrast and getting a clear view of such locations ,i mean spotting them out on the map.
really a nice gis introduction
Thank you very much
Thanks a lot
thank you!
THANKYOU
are the versions of the QGIS available for getting the spatial mapping of locations like the underground pipeline and plumbing sites ,underground sewerage sites or locationbs .or possibly for the space data mapping.
thank you for that tutorial
Gracias! Ceratonia siliqua ( Algarrobo )
hi, I have a county size group of 1000 lidars (.laz's) that I had to break up into 3 projects because QGIS kept choking on any group larger than around 500 layers. How would I go about merging all 3 of those groups of layers into one project/tiff file. Also tried layer/group merge, copying and pasting and nothing would work. Thx in advance for any help. ....Dan
also having trouble registering for the QGIS forum site. keeps going to a blank screen after completing the form. no email sent to me.Any way to let them know?
Thankyou mam.🙏
