The thing I love about this channel is that they don't mind about running after the latest games, but they simply talk about the games they love, and this is quite rare and also extremely beautiful to see. So many youtubers are like "oh this is my favourite game..." and end up mentioning the usual stuff, this is why I'll prefer HCG content forever!
Consolevania is also like that but Scottish.
I just finished Dragon Quest 11, which was my first Dragon Quest game. I adored it.
Been a DQ fan since Dragon Warrior III on nes and I've played em all (cept x) and I can definitively recommend V and IX, the 2 best in the series.
Check out Dragon Quest V, on PS2 or the more NA accessible Dragon Quest VIII.

Age of Empires 2 taught me so much real history in the appendices that my 6th grade social studies teach thought I was the smartest student in class. It also spurred my love for so many RTS games: Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds, Warcraft, StarCraft, Dawn of War, Age of Mythology. I was never even very good at them, but they were still my favorite games growing up!

so many good memories with Age of Empires 2! my dad used to bring me and my brother to an old appliance store called PC Richard & Son and they had display computers with the game installed on them and fell in love with the game and begged our parents to buy it. Great memories!

I've been going through the Kirby series in memory of Iwata. I'm reading his book, the Impact of Iwata and trying to play tons of games he had a hand in. I also beat a childhood NES game I could never beat "Golgo 13", then I started watching the anime and was blown away.
Have you seen the professional with Natalie Portman? Basically same thing, some differences though. Anime version is a gem.
I like how it's games you are actually playing. A lot of video game youtubers. Will show like 10 or 20 games and in reality they just played 10 mins of each game to capture footage and then the game goes back on the shelf for all of eternity.

I've been following Femtrooper's advice on making a list of games to beat and focusing on two at a time. I recently finished Perfect Dark and now I'm playing Fire Emblem Engage and Alan Wake 1.

For Baldur's gate 3, I believe it has local co-op on the ps5, so that is an easy way to play it.
Always great to have Kim on! I’ve returned to World Tour mode in SF6 but the big focus is Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Slow start, but I’m so excited to see where they go with Kiryu and Ichiban
Age of empires 2 is one of my most nostalgic games too. Your story about getting up early to play on the family PC is something I definitely did to with AOE2 and dagger fall.
Grandia was the first time ever that I heard voice acting in an RPG. Really caught me off guard. 🤣 Especially because my first name is Justin and I had a close friend at the time named Susie. 😅
Finally got a new computer so I'm not running 13 year old specs anymore and have been playing a ton of newer stuff my old computer couldn't handle. Been a blast.

Yes!!!! AOE II!!! Such a great game and part of my teen years. Many LAN Parties and sleepless nights with that one. Kim has great taste!
Great overview of Tengai Makyo. I know you've discussed the game before, but I don't recall you bringing up many of these points before; perhaps replaying it was a refresher? I also enjoyed Kim's story about Age of Empires. I've never played any of that series before, but hearing her talk about it brought me back to my love for Civilization II.
Love the Kim videos, her games are like teenage me. Just finished Firewatch and DS1. currently playing XCOM2
I just recently replayed Dragon Quest 1+2 after 30 years. Right now I'm playing through Ender Lilies.
I’m super hyped for Shiren the Wanderer 6 and Unicorn Overlord. This month has been me not playing any games because I don’t want to have anything taking my time or have me tied up when those release
speaking of fan translations, Linda³ Again (ps1 port) has received a fan translation. the work of the community over the past several years on this front has been phenomenal.

Been playing Stranger of Paradise recently. I find it to be pretty fun, although that loot system is a bit bloated.

Know what you mean about the loot! There is a system where you can set parameters for the loot you want, and anything under level will get dismantled. Look it up
It's funny I used to play Age of Empires 2 back in the day and when you guys brought it up the first thing that came to my mind was "rob wegga" and what do you know, at 13:10 there it is! All the little voice sound effects stood with me. There's one that sounds like "oooh, baby!" too.
Every kim episode makes me wanna play handheld games
I wrapped up Legacy Howarts on the Switch about two weeks ago and I had a blast! The game looks amazing when you’re inside, but gets a bit rough when you’re in the open world. Still, what a fun game! Now, I’m about 20 hours in on Star Ocean The Second Story R and boy, what a gorgeous game! I’m a sucker for grinding and this game hits that addiction. Love it.
I'm playing Hogwarts Legacy(Switch) now. Probably halfway through the story.
If a world is good I think a world is good, lol. The witcher looked like a child's drawing most of the time but I still thought it was a marvel

I just got Mario + Rabbids sparks of hope and i think it's one of the coolest video games out there. Playing as Mario but in other worlds made it feel like a non Mario game made it a really brain twisting RPG for sure. The environs and ambience really added the magic touch and it was really immersive to play. BTW that game was the last appearance of Charles Martinette as the voice of Mario.
Love to see the early 00s PC love! I also used to play a lot of older PC games so I get the nostalgia!!! It was mostly SIMS and Counterstrike and stuff but there is something comforting thinking about those days!

I'm so excited to play Tengai Makyo Ziria! I heard that the original patch crashed for a lot of people. I'm sorry to hear you were one of them! I really hope they translate the second game as well. We've been getting some really exciting English translations lately. I'm super pumped to see Linda 3 got one too for the PSX! So that one got added to the list for sure!

I've been playing Resident Evil Remake, RE2 Remake, and RE 3 Remake this year so far. I just started playing Final Fantasy 8 Remastered for Playstation 5. John and Kim I love when y'all do a video together they are so enjoyable to watch. This is third time viewing this video. You guys are amazing content creators! I love you two. Keep up the good work. @zerohx77 Yeah, it takes a lot more skill with jet set radio. Since the controls feels so outdated. I can't wait for the new jet set radio game.
@raven80wolfx2 I had to have more patience with JSR and that really helped me beat it. I can't wait for the new JSR and the other Sega IPs.
I also recently started Dragon Quest Monsters and I'm absolutely enjoying it, catching new monsters and combining them to make new ones has me hooked.

Got bit by the nostalgia bug and started playing Legend of Mana and Grandia again. Even went back and watched your Grandia Anniversary episode, which was great and continued to remind me of all the reasons why I loved those games growing up!!

My main nostalgia is for age of empires 1 and rise of Rome expansion. Played this religiously for all of middle school 1999 through 2002
The tactical focus in the dq monsters series is more so in how you build and setup your team setting the ai up for success in the auto battles.
Just finished playing Clash: Artifacts of Chaos on the weekend, and I enjoyed it a lot. I've since started Sackboy's Big Adventure, and also recently bought Terminal Velocity on GOG.
I've recently completed Caligula Effect Overdose and i've been playing a couple of older games, The Bridge which is a black snd white puzzle game, which i'm currently stuck on and a chilled out visual novel/point n click called Burly Men at Sea.

Played Mario & Luigi Paper Jam recently. Age of Empires brings me back. I only played the first one, but I remember some people being really into AEII when I was playing Starcraft.

i have a feeling Kim will LOVE granblue relink. its a very chill rpg with losts of side quests to dive into but also very respectful of your time in terms of getting you from point a to point b with hassel. things like a side quest menu that teleport you to the quest giver and things like that.

So I've also been playing Tengai Makyou: Ziria (Far East of Eden) as well. I'm also currently playing J.B. Harold Blue Chicago Blues & Ginga Ojousama Densetsu Yuna. I'm absolutely loving all my retro games on PolyMega.
My wife and I are both playing Baldur's Gate 3. Scheduling out our TV time, and who gets to play. BG3 is amazing so far.
Speaking of old games, i´ve finished the Ace Attorney Trilogy and i have to say, i never thought that a grafical noval, click and point adventure can be this much fun and i´m playing Bionic Commando from 1987.
Did you two ever play Blue Reflection: Second Light? I don't remember seeing you talk about it before. If you haven't, I highly recommend it! I played through it three times in a row back in December. After that I played through Crymachina and right now I'm playing Nights of Azure 2. I recommend trying splitscreen on Baldur's Gate 3 with each other. My girlfriend and I had a great time playing through the game.

ive been playing the mafia trilogy on xbox series x for the last two weeks now. absolutely love it. has alot of bugs and graphical issues when it comes to lighting but what an amazing trilogy

Just recently finished the Mario RPG remake which was fantastic and now I've been going back and forth between Ys Origin and Tunic-both just so good!
I was almost through Zelda TOTK when I stopped because I just didn't want it to end. So I haven't played that in several months, but I know eventually I will have to pick it back up and finish it. Lately I have been having a ton of fun with Evercade, playing a variety of classic arcade and console games. That was my Christmas present for my whole family, and we've had fun with the multi player games.
Got Torna because of Kim's recommendation. Fun game! I've never played a Xenoblade Chronicles game before.
I have owned Immortals Fenyx Rising for quite a while now, but I never got around to playing it. I started it recently and I really like it and have been having a lot of fun with it. After putting 250 hours in to starfield and new game plus multiple times, i have finally moved on. Going to beat Frnyx Rising and then probably going to play the new Grandblue. I am also praying that Ys 10 gets localized this year
I finally went through Ys Origin and started playing Final Fantasy 8 for the first time and have been having a great time with both!

I’m waaay late to the party but I just downloaded Witcher 3 last week on my Switch and I’m absolutely loving it. I just checked last night and I’ve already got like 35 hours into it and I’ve only done the first area completely and I’m only level 8 😂 The side quests and characters are some of the most well written fleshed out missions and people I’ve ever seen in video games 😁 Happy Sunday you two! 🥰
oh man, I too also only recently got into Age of Empires. My buddies all played it many, many years ago but I didn't have a decent computer so I missed out. Got the definitive versions of 2 and 3, and have 4 on my wish list. Just playing the campaign is a blast.
I don't have much time for too much game time lately, but I did just play Dynasty warriors 5 Xtreme Legends. I'm starting it and so far enjoying it. The Dynasty Warrior series are some of my favorite series.
Also been replaying an old pc game, one of my all time favourites, XCOM: terror from the deep. On Switch now playing Dordogne, Chicory a Colourful Tale and Monster Sanctuary. On 3ds: Luigi's mansion 2. I usually play 3-6 games on and off.
