    This film was made by the OSS Field Photographic Branch (FP), CDR John Ford USNR officer commanding.
    The Field Photographic Branch is the motion picture production and picture taking Branch which records OSS activities in the States and abroad. It produces OSS training films and it has performed strategic photographic missions for OSS, the Army, an the Navy overseas. Personnel of Field Photo accompanied the OSS City Teams which were dispatched quickly to newly liberated European cities.
    This film, OSS Training Group, depicts W.E. Fairbairn and R. Applegate, amongst others, training the recruits for the Office of Strategic Services during WWII at OSS Training Area B located in Catoctin Mountain Park near Thurmont Maryland.
    In December 1942, Applegate was named chief of Training Division Section VIII, Combat Section at the US Army Military Intelligence Training Center (MITC) located at Camp Ritchie near Cascade Maryland, just over the hill from Area B. He held this position throughout the war.
