As a midfielder he scored more goals than some of the strikers, he has more Goals than Zidane, Pirlo or Figo, plus he was a playmaker, leader, winger and El Capitano. How someone today can say he didn't deserve Ballon D'or is beyond me.
If you know the performance of Henry the same year Nedved won the ballondor you will know why he didn't deserve that much.
I respect Nedved if it weren't Henry he could have surely deserved it that year

Yes Henry scored amazing goals, but he didn't perform when it mattered and he didn't perform in CL. Nedved did everything, defense, attack, playmaking, Henry was "just" an attacker. Great surely, best in the world back then, but Nedved was much more complete player and he also did more that year and during his career.

I was about 10 years old when i got a Shirt Nedved with number 11 from my uncle. I had no idea about football back then so i didn't really appreciated that gift, until somehow jumping on TV channels i found Juventus match i do not really remember against who but i what i saw woke me up. THAT blond haired monster running back and forward through 90 minutes like crazy and commentators screaming NEDVED !!!

I agree! Compared to 15 or 20 years ago, players these days are overhyped. There's more money chasing fewer world-class players so hence the quality has been watered down.

A lot of the players today are highly dependent on the type of system they play in, that is why many of them look good playing for their respective clubs but look average when playing for their national teams and vice versa. But I agree flair and creativity are combinations we hardly see today in players.
@@MrMusicinspires that imo has to do with the route football has taken rather than the players themselves, because the amount of world class players still is the same, but money has been poured over them in the chase of capturing the next Ronaldo or Messi. Everyone is compared to those two and salarys as well as fees are being bloated, but its not the players fault. Kane , mbappe, modric, lewa, Alison, VvD, KdB, yer stengen, haaland and many more playing now are world class to be remembered (if they stay healthy with a full career) but their fees and salaries are immense. None of them is 3-4 times better than Zidane, Scholes, Maldini, cafu, Nesta, Rivaldo etc
