Samuel LeBlanc, a young transgender musician, undertook an artistic approach to find a rural queer community in his native Acadia. During his wanderings, he discovers, behind the heteronormative rural landscapes, people determined to live their differences without having to leave their hometown or deny their cultural identity to get there. Samuel will come out with the conviction that the rural queer reality in Acadia, although sometimes difficult, has its share of beauty and community acceptance and that a queer Acadia can and does exist. Co-presented by Ottawa Film Society.

Je suis tombée sur ce documentaire à la télé... gros gros coup de coeur. C'est très réussi, autant sur le fond que la forme (il y a des scènes d'anthologie, rien de moins !), c'est une quête sur l'identité sous plusieurs formes, les protagoniste brillent de vérité et on évite les effets de mode ou de l'esthétique vide de sens. Ça m'a en plus permis de découvrir l'oeuvre de Angèle Arsenault, de qui je n'étais pourtant pas particulièrement fan ;-). D'ailleurs, où peut-on trouver toutes les reprises entendues dans le film ? Gros bravo aux créateurs !
