So good to see the Capri munching on Bimmers!
Dad bought a Capri 2.6 litre back in 1973 which I eventually inherited. Was a beautiful machine.
I had a 1977 the last year of that body style, 2.8 V-6 4 speed Headers, lowed, sway bars, 4 spoke American libre wheels, with Anza Exhaust. My license plate was, HUMMV6.
gotta love the way this Capri power slides/drifts thru some corners 💯 wish I were the one behind the wheel it would be fun.😁
Ford England should of sold a V6 3.4 litre Cosworth Capri in a limited street edition .
Here in Australia the great Allan Moffat had one and what a awesome car it was for its time.
Owned a MK1 3L from about 1977 to 81. Fantastic car. Also had a brief chance to work on a full Cologne Capri, heaven.
Nice to see a lotus cortina and SD1 there as well
would love a road legal tuned capri with that bodykit
...and very fast. Awesome!
Capri is the Best
Seen that very car at Oulton Park back in 2013. stunning looking thing and yes very load.
LOVELY GAA MK1 CAPRIS
If I ever win the lottery I will buy one to put next to Roger Clark’s RS 1800 in my dream garage
Incredible, what a car
My love for MK1 capris and tinas goes back 55 years my brother had 3 all 3 litres only one to have IMO RS3100s were expensive I then got my 71 3000E at 17 my first car I’ve owned 12 in total but would love any one of these on here including the lotus totally awesome !
thats how a capri want to have fun ;)
sooo good with headphones*!! would gladly watch more of these
Aussie legend Allan Moffat raced one of these beauties Down Under very successfully ...he was forced to reduce tyre size because the Capri was decimating the V8 dinosaurs of the day.
Mael-Strom hey mate, here is a picture and an article on Alan Moffatt’s RS3100 Cologne Capri, you can join Shanons Car Club for free and receive the full article www.shannons.com.au/club/news/allan-moffats-cologne-rs3100-australias-wildest-v6-capri/
What a car, what a sound.!.
What a beaut!
Nice!!!
That just proves you don't need a V8 to sound horn.
proves?
V8s shake the ground small engines do not
@@gmain1977
You clearly have never been at dragraces where 2l 4 cylinder boxer engines put out 350 hp, ...
naturally aspirated.
These thing shake the ground too. ;D
@@mandernachluca3774 they dont shake ground the ground , I have been going drag racing since the 90s and the cars that make the ground shake are all V8s , I have seen V6s I do not feel anything. I am a muscle car man and I am V8 through and through I do like V6s I have 3 litre mondeo ST and had 2.8 injection capri.
great cApri
L O V E IT !!!
If this is the car I think it is, it has had quite a history. It started out as a 1973 RS2600 built by Broadspeed (one of two) which was heavily damaged in an accident. It went to Cologne in 1974 where it was updated to RS3100 spec. and is unique as being the only works racing RS Capri built as right hand drive. Incidentally, the other car was left hand drive. Ralph Broad must have realised very quickly that he had made a mistake switching from Ford to British Leyland. He had to try to make the very overweight Jaguar XJ6 coupe into a competitive group 2 touring car racer (which was beautiful looking in 1977 trim!). He knew this, and wanted to use the XJS as a basis instead......
inquisitor229 .
Broadspeed capri is Blue and white am almost certain this is only a few years old built using genuine parts and painted this colour to make it diffrent from the other cologne capris
davyfaeforth .my mates brother did the cylinder heads on works Capri racing cars ,gt40's and many bda's
inquisitor229 your right.....1 original is in the ford museum. .pete mucke runs another and 1 is in Australia but i believe there were 5 GAA capris made by ford but this red one isn't one of the originals👍
One original is from ZakSpeed. 1,4Liters Turbo with 600 hp.
Maddox Mad The Mk3 is a different car all together from zakspeed ..the GAA mk1 uses the capri body and all the suspension pick up points on the front, the same as the road car, the rear end used a 4 link system with a Panhard road with coil overs....the Zakspeed car is a Mk3 and not much of the original car is left, with the front and rear being space framed to make a compleat space frame chassis and only retaining the front windscreen and roof skin from the capri..as for the engine, 1st Zakspeed capri ran a single turbo 1.4 Alloy blocked BDA engine with 370hp but later ran a 1.7 twin turbo BDA with up to 660hp but that was knocked back later to 600hp and a single turbo as the twin turbo liked to explode......hope that helps👍
What’s not to love about any broadspeed motor?
Any chance of some more footage from other races and maybe some on board footage too😊
@Sean Gavin Many thanks and yes I have and I have one you might like...keep an eye on the car in front.😎

Wonderful beast, I've always wanted to see one of those in action. That's a purpose designed engine then, rather than the old pushrod Ford V6?
it has the 3.4L GAA Cosworth V6 uses the block out of a Ford 3.0 Essex V6 engine like the one in the Capri and Granada 3.0 but bored to 100mm , DOHC 24v, Alloy heads , Lucas mechanical fuel injection , dry sump etc..., they made about 420Hp in 1973 but they can be tuned to about 600Hp if you stroke the engine to 4000cc
@@FirstOnRaceDayCapri2904 That Essex V6 block was originally designed for diesel service hence its superior strength.
@@mael-strom9707 That is correct.
Хорошо "Капри" смотрится
Cosworth=Höllenmaschine! Hahaa... .
Ford Old School Cosworth V6😈
not at all.the engine's were german, built by Ford of Germany, with help from British engine guru Harry Weslake.
@@TheFokker03 the engine is Cosworth GAA Cosworth is British
0:37 What is the first car? An US V8 tells that sound my ears. Nice to hear the difference of both.
Camaro I think.
Honnêtement j ai une el camino de 77 arranger 73 j adore ce bruit de v8 mais je préfère le v6 sont bruit et plus beau plus fin et rauq même le 6 cylindres en ligne ou vr6 sont des mélodies pour mes oreilles
fucking quick .
EVIL SOUND
Why Ford cant build a new Capri instead of hideous SUV's.......
