That's an awful shame, that people's attitudes seem to be trending in those negative ways. I haven't been able to go to a con since 2019 because I have immunocompromised family and I still don't feel comfortable going even now. But back when I was able to go, these were all pretty well understood things. it strikes me that the kind of people who wouldn't care about people's feelings/ consent/ personal space are probably the same kind of people who don't care about others' health and safety either, and vice versa. Maybe more of the thoughtful, respectful kind of people are still staying home and so there's a higher ratio of jerks?
Whatever the reason, I hope your convention-going experiences are better going forward than they have been these past couple of years.

Thank you and I hope cons become a safer venue (disease-wise) for you to attend soon! I'm still masking at cons just in case 😅 I'd like to avoid all the illnesses plz.
But for sure. There have been so many issues. Last year was really rough. I have a friend who is an adult but looks very very young and the fact that they wound up being a target for stalking, groping, and harassment genuinely disturbs me. It's gotten so bad that our friend group is having to plan the con around making sure someone is with this friend at all times. I'm just tired and sick of it and so much could be fixed if people respected others.
