  • In this video, I sketch noses with a ballpoint pen. Drawing anatomy is a great way for artists to enhance their technical skills. Drawing with a ballpoint pen can be challenging at first, but with patience, you'll get better in no time. Checkout my full digital book about drawing with a ballpoint pen below.

    Hi, my name is Michael, and I’m a visual artist. My favorite medium is ballpoint pen. I use the hatching/cross-hatching technique on Arches watercolor paper to create hyper realistic portraits. Please like and subscribe!

    Thanks for the video! I’d like to see how you tackle landscapes in a similar format. I enjoyed the pacing and commentary, it was fun to watch and felt natural. If landscapes aren’t interesting to you, I wouldn’t mind watching you draw from imagination with your narration. I’m also interested in that PDF, but I would much rather have a physical book! That said, keep up the great work, thanks again for the video and dope art

      You’re welcome. I have drawn landscape before, but I am not too fond of it. It’s not as fun as portraits. I will create a video of drawing from imagination. That sounds fun. Thanks for watching!

    I am an artist too, and can work with any media. I have never tried ball point portraits but on my to do list. I love your work.
    Any recommendations for the pens and where to buy them?

      I checked Walmart and they only have BIC which can easily bleed on the paper.

      Try checking office supply stores like Staples or Office Depot. I like BIC Roundstic ballpoint pens

    It's kind of hard to make.progress I think it's cause I keep using a normal paper but I feel I haven't maxed out my potential with it so I don't want to go for higher ones how long do you think I should spend on normal papers sir

    • @_mikeysart_
      @_mikeysart_  Před 15 dny

      I say instead of creating drawings on normal paper, practice the technique of of crosshatching on normal paper. Draw squares in a row and crosshatch inside of them from a lighter value to a darker value. Overtime, you’ll have more control with the pressure you apply. Don’t give up . You’ve come too far to give up now. You got this! I was in your shoes at one point in my life
