  • Fast and smooth. No wasted motion. Never stop moving. The way to produce without tearing up the machine. Everett has many years of operating experience, and it shows. Flash was onboard to help sort out a couple issues with the machine.
Air controls, Murphy engine. The engine is 1 size up from the Murphy in the mechanical control Model 6, so it can cycle somewhat faster. The mechanical controls on the other Model 6 have "Feather Touch" servo bands, which reduce operator effort. I have some good video of that machine working to post soon.
The Brownsville May show was a bit frustrating. Rain Friday night and Saturday, so we only had Sunday to shoot video. The good side, everybody was busy making up for lost time, so there was plenty of stuff going on all day.

Hadn't heard about it. What happened? I noticed a couple issues, but didn't seem major.

@@73DiamondReo Wow! I saw it rocking, thought that was just worn hook rollers. Worn parts or broken? Keep me posted if you hear any more. I don't know whether to do a thumbs up or down. Appreciate the info.

@@73DiamondReo About 13 years ago, I documented a major rebuild of the last Lima 2400B built, on the dock in Fairport, Ohio. Search "Lima 2400B Rebuild". Late welded deck was "all broken up", Jefferson out of Punxy brought up a cast deck, then completely stripped it down and rebuilt it onto the cast deck. Part of the job was to weld gussets all around the center pin on the lower, apparently a weak spot. I saw it working not long ago, it's a dredge for Ryba Marine, one of 2 2400's they have.

@@SteamCrane worn and broken parts. A 6 does not have hook rollers so all the stress is on the center pin and front rollers

I ran one for years. His pit is a mess. He should clean it up.
