Aww....I love to see humans help our animal friends. ❤ A few years ago in Hampton (VA), a cop stopped traffic at a busy intersection during rush hour to allow a mother duck and her ducklings to safely cross the busy street to go to the lake. Someone recorded him and sent the video to the local news. He was nicknamed the "duck whisperer" lol and was honored for his good deed. ❤

Growing up I lived about a mile from the Mississippi River and at least once a year I’d see a mama and her ducklings head to the river and I’d have to stop traffic so they would have a safe path to their destination. The good old days❤

Probably walked into town with kiddies not realizing there wasn't water nearby and became lost. I had an encounter with two ducks near a bus transit center with no water nearby for a while they were looking for food since humans tend to leave crumbs on the ground while we eat or you know just give them bread.
It could be that she was not near the water when it was time to lay her eggs. It happened at my workplace once, where a duck decided to lay her eggs in a tall planter on a busy street downtown. IIRC, we called a wildlife organization; they secured the area and then displaced the family near the water when the ducklings were a couple of weeks old.

This is the best thing I’ve seen in far too long. It reminds me of Robert McCloskey’s children’s book, “Make Way for Ducklings,” in which a policemen helps a family of ducks cross the road in order to get to the pond.

I actually live here! Seeing fleets of ducks waltz around the downtown lake is not a rare sight at all, but I have never seen them go as far as the plazas. Glad to know they got an escort back; it’s always wonderful seeing the ducks and swans every time I go there for a walk

Agonizing! Grueling! Suspenseful! Honestly one of the best short films I've seen in ages! It was full of chills and spills as watchers we're on the edges of their seats wondering if Mother Duck 🦆 knew where she was going! Her decision over whether to take the stairs or the longer way to the water was well thought out. I loved it. The police officer was so kind and helpful when they crossed the streets too.
