Something that kills me is I bet LeBron fans didn't even watch him play high school ball, they watched highlights! I was born in the 70s in Chicago, I was mad when the Bulls win their first championship because I was a Magic fan as a kid when he played at Michigan State! I watched him play Bird and then play in the Finals! People are really casual fans if they don't know the game in any era... there wasn't just one player, but players on great teams! When MJ hit the league players had to play positions, but Jordan took over AT shooting guard, but it's the fact that he played both sides of the ball! If you only look at highlights, guess what? He played like that EVERY single game starting at N.C. with James Worthy, Sam Perkins, and Kenny Smith! I'm my opinion regardless of the record, the Bulls weren't better than the teams they beat in the finals until his second 3peat!

I support the Jordan case but this video is biased. Take the VORP example. Lebron has the edge there, but he says thats a cumulative stat so obviously its just about longevity. Instead, he says lets see VORP per season. And leads you to believe thats a fair comparison. But guess what? It is cumulative for a single season, too. Meaning who played the most games a season will have the highest score. Jordan played 12 season with 78 games or more, Lebron only 7. Still Lebron has 15 seasons in the top 100, MJ only 11.
They way things are presented, the way he choses the stats to use and the way he talks about them is biased. It sometimes feels like listening to Nick Wright arguing for Bron.

Here is a fact for you, only four times in the history of the NBA has a player in the same season earned the following achievements:

Jordan was the GOAT because he put in the time and effort to be the best player in the world. He would play 36 holes of golf in the afternoon, then drop 50 points in a game that evening. Not to mention game 5 of the '97 NBA finals where he had a 103° fever, and still got 38 pts, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, AND dropped the game-winning 3 pointer. LeBron James started slacking off on defense before he joined the Lakers. He's just now at the point where his age can be a legitimate part of the excuse. Remember he last made a defensive team in Miami. MJ made All-defensive 1st team last at 35. Being one of the leaders in the league in minutes , scoring and still being a first team defensive player in your mid thirties and playing all 82 games plus the playoffs? They rarely make players like that anymore. You can make entire highlight videos just of LeBron standing on the opposite side of the court watching his team play 4 v 5 on defense. Defense is all about effort. Trying and failing is much different than failing because you didn't try. Jordan has multiple seasons with over 200 steals and 100 blocks including 2 with both. LeBron has never had a season with either.
Additionally he gives you the numbers to back up what he says. Ignoring them because you don't like what they say makes you biased. And remember that a lot of the numbers he gave INCLUDE the Wizards years which lowered his overall totals. Even with the Washington years dragging them down he still leads in many catagories and analytics. MJ coming back to play for the Wizards helped LeBron because now he isn't as far behind if we were just counting the Bulls years.

At 14:11 you wanted to bring up the expansion era. Let me educate you some more.
43% of Lebrons career playoff comp is against teams under 50wins. By comparison, 27% for MJ. MJ on the Bulls eliminated more 60win teams in the playoffs than any other person in history. In half of MJs Finals runs, he had to face two 60win teams to win the title. Lebron in 10 trips only had to do it once (2015) and he lost.
And even during the expansion years when MJ played, 30% of the league never consisted of sub 30win teams like it has in Lebrons era; at most they made up 28% of the league (only 1989). Lebron played in multiple seasons where the league where sub 30win teams made up 30% of the league. In their championship years, 23.7% of the league was made up of sub 30win teams for MJ and 25.3% for Lebron. During Lebrons era, 49% of the league was under .500 wins. During MJs era, 47%.

"Stop showing him in a Lakers jersey."...If LeBron didn't hop from team to team to team, you wouldn't have that problem, LOL. That's another flaw to LeBron's career that this assessment didn't even mention. LeBron has used free agency to try to stack the deck in terms of his roster to help him win. MJ never had to do that because he didn't need "outside help" to win. Even when they added Dennis Rodman in 1995-96, Rodman was a misfit who wasn't a desired free agent among other NBA teams. He was a rebounder and defender with an attitude problem. Chicago was the only place he could have succeeded because of MJ's leadership and non-tolerance of the kind of shenanagins Rodman was known for at the time. MJ was the only player a malcontent like Rodman would respect.

MJ WAS 33 WHEN HE STARTED HIS SECOND 3 PEAT. making excuses for 20 years and cant listen when facts are being told. typical lebron fan behavior. u guys r youtubers. either u can bring ur own facts and debate this or u can listen to facts. u keep saying dangerprods is biased. so r u guys. u guys making excuses based on ur feelings and emotions rather than facts. thats female arguing methods.

kobe better than MJ is laughable because kobe's entire game was a copycat of MJ...the photocopy generally isn't better than the original...lebron isn't a realistic GOAT candidate; dude cherry-picked his teammates, couldn't shoot free throws, and never really improved the weak areas of his game...lebron is more media hype than anything else.

Lebron been with Lakers since he was 33 yrs old playing suspect defense..Mj was 39 and 40 yrs old with the wizards..and still playing D. If lebron was not playing D at 34 or 37 he damn sure ain't gonna play D at 40 like MJ lol no comparison. Why do ya compare mj wizards years to lebron laker years 🤔 Mj was still hoppin and winning at the age lebron was with Lakers. Stop giving lebron excuses lol

The first year in LA LBJ was 34, in 1998 MJ was 34. Difference is MJ was all defense 1st team that year mean while LBJ was nearly horrendous defensively at points during his first year with LA. So showing LBJ in an LA jersey is relevant, especially if LBJ fans consider him to potentially still be in his prime.

Continuation: Michael post his prime, which i and others assert to be around 88-93, was still considered by many, during that 95-98 stretch, to be the best defender in basketball. While LBJ post his prime, which I assert and others, to be around 2007-2014, was never again, during that 2015-2019, considered to be the best defender in basketball. If anything during certain years of that stretch LBJ was at times considered to be in the bottom half when it came to defense.

Your being selective with your points. By their respective age 34 seasons, LeBron had already played over 4 more entire seasons worth of NBA basketball with zero years off since 2003. Jordan was amazing but he took multiple years off and was a shell of himself even at a rested 38. The all time record for highest PPG for a year 20 player was 17ppg by Kobe, LeBron just shattered it by averaging almost 30ppg. Greatness is not only about achieving in a short time but ultimately defined by how long a player has been able to remain among the best in the world, And that is LeBron James for 20 years straight and is unprecedented in NBA.

    • @seebbsss
      @seebbsss Před 7 měsíci +4

@@MoSuli96 it is unprecedented now, but more and more players will get the same longevity checks that leflop gets, advancements in medicine, training, load management, not playing defence for half his years in the league, etc. Ofc he is going to play 20+ years ,In his entire career he only played 82 games once, ONCE! in 20 years.
Longevity means shit, you can put in a bucket a day for 40 years and pass everyone in the league but does that make you better than them? And not only that but he plays in a league with 0, 0! defense at all he never gets punched or thrown, he can practically stroll down the lane and just hoop.

I think LeBron has had the best career out of any player in the NBA because of his longevity and how he took care of his body. As far as how good he was in his absolute prime, though... He's in my top 10. Probably somewhere around 7 or 8. I'm not old enough to have seen Wilt, Bill Russell, or Oscar Robertson play, but of the people I can remember watching, I would put LeBron, prime for prime, behind MJ, Kareem, Magic, Kobe, Larry, and Shaq.
