What microphone setup are your using?...
Just the built in mic on my pixel 6a actually. I was considering getting a seperate audio recorder though, do you recommend any?@@DWHarper62
@@NYCJazzFanthanks from across the pond!
On the mic topic there's one called the Rode Video Mic Me-C that's supposed to be pretty good without being bulky.
I haven't used it personally but maybe worth a look, if you think the pickup pattern will suit how close you usually are to the music.
Thanks again 👍
This is arguably a "supergroup" as they were known back in the day. Every player has a MASSIVE following.
No.
@@ciaronsmith4995No further elaboration. Just a flat no. I respect it. You’re wrong, but I respect it.
None of these players are that good. Supergroup: Return to Forever.@@k.a-l2735
It absolutely is that
Dunno that equate it to the "following" of each... more the jaw-dropping talent. It's like watching the Flecktones, or the Wood Brothers. Every member is amazing in their own right, but together, they don't step on each other. They support and highlight each other. So wonderful to watch.
FF is the ultimate final boss rhythm section.
the acoustics in that room are so tight
45:26 is the single nastiest thing I've ever seen holy shit
I was at this exact same show as well. They completly blew my mind. Thank you Thank You. I was right next to the stage. One of the best shows I've EVER seen.
I bartended at the Blue Note from 1988-90, and worked all the Friday nights, saw all the greats. Never liked the owner of the club, but they did always have the best acts, and so the job was fun.
That baritone Fiore looks pretty dope 😉
The "Steely Dan Thing" is awesome, I can't wait for an actual track.
Just goes to show there’s incredible talent and sounds to hear ! Love it first hearing of Fearless Flyers. Just awesome.
I always look for a new video to watch a hundred times over and over, and this is currently that video. Thank you so much.
Bounce is stand out in a bouquet of stand out goodness. Really love that one. FF please come to Seattle soon!
That wasn't the take is a straight banger.
Thank you so much!!! I was devastated that the show was sold out.
Now that's some Fearless Flyin,. Thank you!
THANK YOU. was there. was epic
This is amazingly well shot! Nice job!
Great Show! we sat next to Nate Smith! thanks for adding
when Nate matches Joes tempo with the shaker @ 10:30 thats just killer !!!
Dag. I love this band. Anytime I need a funk booster shot, they're my medicine.
And to PRS - please make that Baritone Fiore as an SE model for us mere mortals.
100% on both statements. But I'm looking at the neck length and low-fret spacing and wondering if he had them pull an Ariel Posen for him with thick strings on a standard PRS scale.
Eternally grateful for your recording! This was the exact set we were at, loved every minute of it.🤩So many perfectly used jam vehicles! Joe On Ace of Aces and Vespa, like dayum! 🔥Mark totally shredding through El Chepe and Barbara!! 🎆🎆Cory on "Every Time" and Bounce going nuts! And Nate with the smoothest drum solo on Tesla, going ham on "Steely Dan Thing" and that hi-hat solo at the very end on "Introducing"!! Just too good!!! Masters at work! Thank you again!
Thank you for the kind words! This is exactly why I created this channel, to create a space for the love of the music to continue on after the set is over. Glad you found your way here!
FUCK YES thanks so much for this!
they are SO good
These guys are ALWAYS AMAZING😮😮😮
this is awesome! i was in nyc in june (from TX) and tried to make it to see the motet when they played at the blue note but it wasn't in the cards for my trip schedule. end up getting to see oz noy and mike stearn at bitter end which was incredible. i would have loved to see this gig though!
Thank you so much for capturing this! 😍🙏
It's my pleasure! Let me know your favorite moments in the set, I am editing clips to post on shorts and instagram
Nate’s solo at 5:25! Love his soft transition to the ride cymbal, so unexpected! Also 35:41, when they start playing “Bounce“ from Nate’s first Kinfolk album. Sounds incredible!
@@NYCJazzFanI have a lot of favorite moments in this show, but Nate's accent on the "4+e" right before the "Mozart-Theme" is SO WILD!! (8:12)
45:26 never seen something like this in a solo
57:46 wow that lick
Cory and Mark switching guitars and parts. Very cool.
Bellissimo concerto. Un saluto dall' Italia.
Gotdamn…this shit so tight.
Signed Sealed Delivered for sure !!!!
righteous
46:51 is “Barbara” off of their first EP
Ain' no pocket like Nate's pocket, man
Holy shit the new songs kick ass. I'll have listened to them dozens of times by the time the album comes out. Gabby especially, even with the flub!
I made a separate video with just those three tracks because I cannot stop playing them! czcams.com/video/Bjq9FE_bkIQ/video.htmlsi=kpuObbfYlSjVnd0H
my flyers do be flyin'
New music sounds like their best imo
also note to self to transcribe that unison part later (32:41
)
I can't stop funking guys.
So interesting to revisit this after the album has been released - I can for instance see why this was not the take on Gabby / Thunderbirds 😂 but also incredible how spotless the other two new songs were
And can't wait to see them do Bounce pt. I more often in the future!
These guys mean business
baritone fiore in the wild 👀
Seeing Cory play a PRS is freaking me out just a little.
Saw set 2 Saturday. In the flesh they are even faster. The speed of the hands of both guitarist is impressive
Fantastic stuff. Muscular, athletic, but most of all FUN. So much more enjoyable than the pretentious nonsense that often passes for hard rock and metal these days!
I need one of those guitar stands !!! any clue who makes them? sweet jams indeed!
The show was so great! Nate Smith beat the brakes off them drums!
how can they be sitting down? Total dance band!
Blue note is a seated dinner venue.
@@FastCarsLoudMusic lame, usually when a venue is a "jazz club" they overcharge for every show. They exist for pompous assholes to spend money and get drunk.
that a medium guitar fiore? 😮
That fiore looks like its got a hardtail. Lettieri may have asked PRS to make him a bari Fiore. 🧐
I mean Mayer had a "Dead Spec" SS so its not out of the of realm possibilities.
I'm a gear nerd. Sue me.
I've never seen guitar stands like the guitarist have on stage, what are they??
Awesome set had to skip the record label window shade who didnt realize they were already getting better footage than him blocking the artists but hey budgets and egos gotta be fed.
Had to do a double take when I saw Cory playing a PRS lmao
21:24 Yo is that an intentional "The Payback" reference to troll the audience, or is it just an interpolation?
Knowing Jack, we'll never know
They lifted everything from Charlie Hunter's band TJ Kirk.
That’s fine. And certainly not everything. This is pretty ok.
Dart is God
I bought their short CD. Great band. I love funk (as a bass player). Why do they use the instrument stands? Is it their shtick?
I honestly just assumed it was an ergonomic thing - playing that fast and tight for 2 straight sets, 4 nights in a row, it would be pretty easy to injure a muscle or ligament from overuse. The stands probably make it easier to play in sync while also keeping a healthy posture.
I love these guys. Would rather they not use those stands. It restricts them.
holy shit what the fuCK
These guys really don't like guitar straps I guess?
guy in front row probably needs a chiropractor after show... I know a guy.
Bruh that crowd suuuuucks
was there, you're not allowed to stand up and dance... you're like crammed into tiny tables with a bunch of people. Not an ideal venue for such epic shred.
@@nperldamn that sucks. That’s weird cuz I’m pretty sure it’s allowed at the Blue Note in Japan (could be wrong tho)
Hört sich sehr kotzig an !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sheer talent!
Great band , but to pay hundreds to get into the city, park, eat, buy 2 tickets and have a 2 drink minimum and than have the camera man stand in front of me so I can't see what they are playing? That is bullshit to the fans and idiots like me that bought a Joe Dart bass and wanted an intimate moment. Love the band but extras shooting on stage for the price of entry. You **cked us!
Nothing behind me but a wall my friend! Unless you mean Jack filming the new songs on stage? I get it I guess, but seems like a small price to pay to see them put down tracks for the EP in person.
This was one of the more expensive tickets that I purchased, about 70 bucks. And when I get there I spend 50. Absolutely worth sardine seats every time :)
(squishy not smelly)
