In 2007, Koenigsegg took its first shot at racing with the CCGT. Promising beginnings were cut short as GT1 regulations shifted and the series was discontinued. Now in 2023, the CCGT qualifies for historic GT Racing, giving it a chance to compete against its original rivals.

The fact that the ccgt may be able to race for the first time feels so good on so many levels. The show must go on and it will propel us to victory!

drove it on forza many years ago, it was completly undriverable... but it was so fast. ps I miss driving the ccgt so much.

Yeah because Forza is like real life or not 😂 you know that Forza is supposed to be arcade racing game and not racing simulator right ? And it isn't even undriveable most likely you just dont know how the tune and set up a car correctly.

There is nothing there, which doesn't have a function, which doesn't need to be there, neither is it stripped back, it is simply refined craftsmanship at a whole new level.

Koenigsegg is something not just car enthusiasts drool upon but something every type of person be it an engineer, scientist, an artist etc loves for its aesthetic beauty or the cutting edge technology incorporated, the thrill of the unworldly speed. It might just be a car in looks but to me it is also one of the most amazing machine built by human being.
The CCGT is one of the coolest cars ever made :D

Everytime I see a Koenigsegg car I get that awesome warm feeling. I love it.
Remember watching that old video of the CCGT revving as a kid and thinking WHY IS IT NOT OUT YET.

I'm so glad Koenigsegg is finally starting to shed light on the CCGT, which is a long lost father of the big family. Really nice video here showing the past and present but something about old school Koenigsegg's hit super hard. I do like how aggressive and unique their newer models are but something about that big egg like shape is just something hard to pass up on starring at. One thing I don't understand is why those very early videos show the EXHAUST pipes being down on that lower diffuser but now there's some sort of cut-out right behind the upper part. Not sure exactly when that happened either!

Seeing the Jesko and the CCGT together gave me the chills.
To be honest, as an enthusiast, deep inside, a tear dropped, these 90s-00s cars and racing leagues is what fascinated me as a kid and made me what I am.
It's as important and thrilling to me and us, as it is to you! Thank you!
I wasn't this excited for a car since when I was a kid. I was born in Italy in 93', used to design cars in my spare time, seen many of the most ludicrous four wheel rockets of that era and even got to sit in a V12 Ferrari F1 but this... The very first moment I saw the CCGT I knew immediately a new breed was born, something that can only come out of the crazy dreams of a kid who never stopped believing in his vision. In some way this car fulfilled my own dreams so seeing it being kept from racing felt almost personal. While it's true that times have changed and as technology evolved the CCGT won't be as revolutionary as it once were, it's also true that it still has a lot to prove. Hopefully all those incredible people who made this dream a reality will see their hard work being properly recognised.

I can't begin to describe how excited I am to see this car finally get the opportunity to race. It's been my go-to car in the last 2 Forza Horizon titles for the speed zone challenges because it's so fast and has so much downforce.
It's for Classic Le Mans and not FIA events. Just saying if u expecting to race in an actual FIA events facing actual manufacturers racing against it that's not the case.
Is it just me but it gives FH barn find vibes with the music as well brings me back to the old games

The day I see a Koenigsegg at le Mans is the day that Koenigsegg will solidify its place as the greatest car manufacturer on Earth. At this point it's not cars, it's just plain masterpieces.
Racing is a great way to go broke. Koenigsegg couldn't do 1/10th of their innovations in a restricted racing formula where big names have the money to burn on race cars. And if Koenigsegg got that big, they'd probably no longer be Koenigsegg.

This video reminds me of the Forza Motorsport 4. Back in the days when I was a kid, I love driving the CCGT in the game. It’s literally one of my favorite track car at the time.

Historic racing?
A race driver with a permit has to buy one CCGT first in order to race the thing in stuff like Peter Auto's Endurance Racing Legends or Endurance Legends by Masters
I think there are a few more who allow cars from this era to race but they're all private owners
