Timmy my favorite keeper of all time. Man was something else for the Toffies
You don’t remember big Nev? Best keeper in the world at his peak. Won the FA Cup with us (Everton) in 1995 and 2 league titles in the 80’s.
@@Zizou_77 No sorry buddy, not a Everton fan. But Tim was my favorite keeper growing up.
@@purikad14
Ah, right. No worries. I wrongly assumed you might be an Everton fan. No drama 👍🏻
Tim was a good keeper for us though, apart from the last season or so. He started declining, but he was a little late in his career by then.
Love seeing this exchange, polite and nice
@@seanb3204 YOU WANNA FIGHT?!
I love hearing Tim’s British mannerisms in his American accent. Brilliant 😂
Tim is spot on with the level of fandom in the US. Love watching matches at 7:30am with eggs and a brew. It’s been my #1 sport for 10+ years now. Great stuff, Ben!
It's always fun to hear the scenes from friends up early in team dressing gowns and breakfast delivery and stuff!
I’m glad to hear this, usa could have a great national team and I believe they will because football is growing out there in the next coming years, who do you support btw ?
Well done! When football changes from your favourite sport to your religion you'll know how it feels for us Brits.
Love this! 🙌🏻
@@bradd2k2 I’m a United fan because back when I started watching, they were just about the only team that was on TV every week in the US (and it didn’t hurt that they were good!) Now riding the downward trend and at least enjoying the fact that I can watch every single PL match.
High hopes for the US at the World Cup this year. I think we can grab second spot in the group and maybe get a lucky draw to get into the quarterfinals. From there who knows!
Tim was one of the first players I remember liking, cool to have him on the pod!
Always a great interview and not always the a person you would usually see interviewed. Great insight into a life of a footballer. Would love to see an interview with Michael Johnson from Man City injuries , early retirement , mental health and keeping out the public eye .
Nedum onouha has done a good podcast with him if you haven’t already seen it
@@whosthis402 😊😊😊
@@whosthis402 what’s it called?
Good shout bud and also would like to hear from dale jennings former tranmere Rovers player who got signed for Bayern munich a few years back and haven’t heard from him since ?!
I'm glad the 2014 game vs Belgium was brought up, easily one of the greatest goalkeeping performances ever!
One of the greatest World Cup games ever, so much entertainment.
WONDO WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY :P
As a goalkeeper myself, I absolutely LOVE these kinds of interviews. Hearing the similarities between my approach and mindset regarding goalkeeping and those of the pros is surreal to me. This interview comes a close second to the Kasper one.
Loved Howard as a player too, so this one was a treat.
As an American and a West Brom fan, I am super bummed to not bet able to get down their to meet Ben. It's interesting to see what teams American's pick. I chose West Brom because of the 5-5 draw against Man U in Sir Alex Ferguson's last game. I went over to a friends house who was a Man United fan and to play devils advocate, I decided to root for West Brom that game. It turned into probably one of the most exciting sporting matches I had ever watched in my life and I've been hooked ever since. Great podcast, love hearing Tim talk about his experiences.
Up the baggies
Shame we’re absolutely dogshit at the moment mate.
@@michaelduckett7688 Shit really seems to be kicking off tonight as well. Corberan on the brink idk whos gonna want to manage us at this point.
@@justinalvino6616 at the moment it’s a poison chalice. We on our way to league 1. Can’t see a way out of it no matter who takes over.
As another American West Brom fan I am absolutely shocked that Ben Foster would sign a Wolves shirt!!! 🐺🤮
Fantastic episode, Tim Howard is so articulate and knowledgeable, that Belgium v USA game is one of the best I’ve ever seen at a World Cup
One of my favourite Fozcast’s, that one!
Side note: I was at the game when Robbo scored against you, Ben. I remember seeing him take the kick, went to get my phone out of my pocket as I thought it was just a long ball, looked up just as the ball went over you 🤣
🤪🤪🤪🤪
Got to be one of the lucky people at the event on Saturday. Thanks a million Ben for signing that ball and taking a picture even through the Nike Arena fence 😂. Absolutely made my day mate. 3 am wake up was well worth it. Means a lot to see you come out here to not just America but to my home town. Hope to see you come back soon to see more of our wonderful city.
Sincerely,
-The Massive unit in the Chelsea kit.
Tim was a beast man, I remember the one season he was that good you couldn't even see him for 3/4 of their matches....like a real ninja. Insane.
Tim was an animal at Everton!! Loved watching him in my childhood, the huge beard 🤣
Tim Howard is the reason I'm an Everton fan.
As an Everton fan who has seen Tim play most of his career right in front of me this was an absolute brilliant watch! One thing that didn’t come up was the pen Shootout against Man United with a young Ben Foster in goal for the opposition when Tim got a bit of redemption against his former club.
Tim Howard is the reason i wanted to start playing in goal, it was 2015 in april snd i was on holiday in florida, on the TV i see the clip of tim howard diving backwards to tip grazziano pelle’s chip over the bar in everton vs southampton, i remember trying that in the pool afterwards and when i got home i became a goalkeeper and i was pretty good at it, so thank you tim howard
Tim was an absolute hero at Everton. That team and those players he described was an incredible period of premier league and for the club. We’ve not had that since. Great guy too
Love this! I live in a small town in TN, don't get many bites to talk about the Manchester derby or Gerrard getting sacked, such things but where I used to stand alone I get about a dozen people messaging during matches in the mornings, all people I've encouraged to watch and are now full in. Keep up the good work Foz!
Tim Howard is the reason I became an Everton fan and brought that love of the toffees to my father. If it wasn’t for him I probably wouldn’t have the love for the game I do and not be currently on the road to getting a degree in sports broadcasting. Can’t wait to dig into this one!
Tim Howard is my all time favourite keeper. It was a pleasure to watch him play week in week out for Everton and was there at his last game for us. Absolute legend!!
Tim the reason I chose to be a keeper when I was young. What a legend
"Tim Howard!! WITH HIS LEGS!!!!!"
5 words that I've shouted nearly every time I've kicked a ball around since 2014. Gotta love big Timmy!
My two favorite Goalkeepers just for the pure grit and humility of both. I’ve always wished the best for both of them once they left Man Utd.
Great insight, the guests your getting are amazing, Tim seems such a gentleman, again Scholesy mentioned. Keep them coming lads.
Was great seeing Tim at FanFest. Shame I missed you foz. Cool to have you guys in my city!
Given how many great American GKs we've had play overseas, saying Tim was legend, it's a huge compliment. And I agree. 2014 WC v. Belgium was immense.
Unreal! So nice to hear that the best still think like us ‘not pro’ goalkeepers as in it’s okay to have games where you won’t take risks in order to get your confidence back
Ben and Tom love the fozcast absolute quality look forward to listening every week give us a shout out next time # Up THE FOZCAST
Thanks John!! Appreciate the love
Goalkeepers really are the nicest people! Big up, Tim! 🤗
Timmy T's in my humble opinion, is the greatest American to ever play the game. His longevity in a top league, and his overall ability i think clears it for me.
Thank you for such a wonderful Fozcast!! You should come over the pond to do more interviews with US Canada Mexico keepers, if possible!! Awsome job guys!!
Thank you!!!
Great interview! Wish I could have been in Philly to see you guys
Love seeing you interview keepers. As a keeper growing up myself they're always my fave episodes
Very interesting for an outfield player as well. Gives a different insight to the game
Love this pod. Always had a soft spot for him as a United fan, yet that World Cup game still haunts me.
I'll never forget about the Belgium game. I love the USMNT because of Howard in goal during the world cup as a boy. Fantastic.
Great interview Foz. Tim Howard one of the best keepers in his day
The levels of fandom is definitely growing in the US and it’s great to see. I get up at like 5am to watch the weekend games and it’s a good way to start the morning.
Tim Howard was my first favorite footballer when he played for the metro stars an was so proud to see how his career had gone since then to me one of the greatest goalkeepers of this generation an def up there with the best !
great episode been a fan of tim since he played for the metrostars my dad used to take me to see the metrostars at the old giants stadium he would do incredible saves then followed his journey at man united where by then i became a united fan i learn the history of the club
Surpringly that was one of my faves I've listened to on your podcast. Great guest 👌 👍 really enjoyed that
At some point I will watch the full episode, but as a USMNT fan, our team was always flawed to one degree or another. But in any game we played, I always said, "well we always have Tim Howard." We've had great goalkeepers kit up for in the modern era -- Kasey Keller, Brad Friedel, but Tim was not only the best but also truly clutch. One thing that sets the great keepers apart -- yes, doing all the right things in the game, organizing the defense, being the first line of attack. But at some point in the game, there is THE save that you just HAVE to make. Tim could do that.
Great video as always lads. Big Tim, what a lad!! Definitely amongst the top ten Premier league keepers of all time.
Absolutely loved him growing up what a guy, great pod💙
Tim is just pure class
100%
What a top episode!
As a keeper myself and as a United fan,
I had the pleasure of meeting
VDS - Dubai
P. Schmicheal - Dubai
Tim Howard (Last fan fest in LA)
De Gea - 2018 WC
I can't wait to meet you at some point, Ben! (although saw you play at Man United in a 0-0 draw when you were at WBA in 2017).
I wish I could go back 10 years and give Tim the respect I now know he deserves after watching this. Such a cool geezer and talks brilliantly and engagingly about the game. I hope it also go some way in shutting up the morons that still have the “Soccer/Ted Lasso” ignorant views on US players and coaches. Good luck in the next part of your career,Tim and I hope as an Arsenal fan that Matt Turner has learnt a lot from you man!✌🏽
the Tim Howard memes after the USA v Belgium match in the 2014 World Cup were class. My favourite tweet was "Tried to follow Tim Howard, got blocked".
I've never been more inspired to have a saturday curry night! Thank you both :)
Great hearing the United stories, Top Pod as always 👍
Pure class! Keep ‘em coming!
👊🏼👊🏼👏🏼
EXCELLENT chat. Tim one of my favourite keepers of all time.
Great interview … Tim Howard is a top man, I’ve never heard him talk before. 👍🏻
I've always heard that the goalkeeper's job is to organize his defence, but the way Tim worded really made me realize it.
Great pod as usual. Would love to see how ledley on the pod has great stories and did so well for wales in euro 2016. And also come on Craig Dawson get on the fozcast !
Great episode as always. Awesome job boys
Thanks Marc!
as a liverpool fan coming up against everton in the mid 2010's was terrifying when howard was in net, such a beast
Loved Tim Howard at Utd. Great guest!
Howard's save for Everton v Southampton is the best I've ever seen live, worth watching if you've not seen it before.
What season ??

Love a goalie podcast goalkeepers never get the love they deserve!
Whata great guest Ben A great keeper like you 👌🏻⚽️😀
I loved Tim Howard when he played for United. I even got a replica shirt with his name and number 14 on the back.
Fans in America for sure know their stuff. This isn’t 1970 anymore. At least that’s been my experience whenever I’ve spoken to an American fan.
Fozzy great to see you on TV for the Philadelphia fan fest!
Wow! So much great info love it !!
Funny story 1994 I played in goal against the Arsenal celebrity team at Highbury After the game the club held an event and we had won Both the FA cup and League cup 93. The club Put both cups on display and there was burley security men looking after the cups. Being
last out of the changing rooms I didn't hear the instructions not to touch. They looked miffed but were very understanding. However until this day I can still say I'm one of the few to have held up both cups. Big up the keepers union.
Will always remember that save he made, can’t remember who it was against but the ball had gone past him mid air, he someone managed to claw it back off the line from behind him.. guy had crazy reflexes.
Great show Ben...been waiting on Timmy interview
Great pod, Tim is a friggin legend - Fozzy, you HAVE to get Glenn Murray on the pod - proper proper professional, worked his way up the leagues to the PL, and a really experienced player who's been around the block (plus he's a great guy)
What a legend. Always remember him getting stick but thinking that he was a proper steady keeper
Brilliant interview 👍👍
Great podcast getting some fan favourites on! Would love to see Andy Jock Morrison on the pod, Ex-City legand with a hell of a story to tell! Just finished his book, Andy Morrison: The Good, The Mad & The Ugly!
Thoroughly enjoyed this.
Has to be one of the best interviews ever done on Fozcast!
This the best one yet ❤️
Omg Tim Howard, what a Everton legend, I really wanted him to answer Royston Drenthe at the end 😂😂😂
Loved Tim Howard at Everton!
Two legends!
Great episode!!
I was in philly for the fan fest and saw Ben a few times! Was also one of the liverpool fans chanting for Timmy
Another banger and what a sound guy Tim seems
I'm local to one of the top football bars in the country, few things are more fun than standing room only for a massive match at 7:30am. Feels like the adult version of Saturday morning cartoons as a kid.
Another great interview
Comes across as thoughtful and articulate. Great interview.
Love the Goalkeepers Union "Up the Fozcast"
Best footballing podcast I've heard in ages, nice one.
So laid back and honest
USA USA USA! Never got tired of the Gwladys Street singing that!! Great episode boys!
United really had a lot of mid level keepers, Tim Howard, Ben Foster, Roy Carroll... Still managed to win trophies tho so big up Fergie
This could be my favourite Fozcast yet.
Brilliant!!
Great podcast lads!
Ben can you please start a hand chart for all of these keepers your getting on, would be intrigued with hand sizes 😂
Absolutely idolized Tim growing up playing and loved the episode!
Amazing episode. Tim is a legend
Thanks Aaron!
Being from the US and playing in goal Tim Howard is the goat
Saw you there Ben. We were the Leeds fans from Orlando in the VIP area.
My favourite player. Got me into football. I have him to thank. Met him when I was 8 and would Ive to meet him again
class interview
looking forward to this as an everton fan
funny story, I went to West Ham v Bournemouth, and I was stood next to an American who was a Bournemouth Fan. First game he ever watched live and he was chanting like he was a local. He was probably part of the Bournemouth fans in Philadelphia too cause he told me he saw you lot. small world
