  • Soccer has exploded in popularity in the United States in recent years, thanks in no small part to Tim Howard. Howard’s superb performances as a goalkeeper for the USMNT helped fuel interest in the World Cup and his arrival in the Premier League created a fanbase willing to pack into the bars at absurdly early hours to watch him play, first for Manchester United and then for Everton. With his soccer career behind him, Howard has become an analyst for NBCSN’s Premier League coverage. Howard appears in our 2021 Lifestyle issue and in between the photoshoot and grabbing for an addition to his extensive tattoo collection, the former goalkeeper sat down to talk about his tattoos, his Tourette syndrome and the importance of playing for the United States.

Tim Howard is such a chill fellow. Wish people would stop giving him shit due to his commentary on Premier Leagues matches. To do that job whilst having tourettes is no joke.
    Kudos to the fellow.

Tim Howard was a pretty good keeper. I don't think the USA will ever win a WC though. The European/South American skill level, is always going to be greater, than N/A skill level.

I can relate to the autograph and tourettes stuff. I have always wanted to have Steven Tyler's autograph tattooed on my arm or shoulder and I have had epilepsy most of my life. However now I have been had a heart attack and a stroke and my days of having any semblance of health are gone.
