I guess my point is that we have / had a big squad with many players either on long term injuries or not making it. Even at 30k it adds up as it’s about 1.5 million a year.
It's outrageous that Levy takes 3M as a bonus. What a PR coup to give it up and keep the senior prices the same. But we know Levy's greedy and mostly interested in himself and money. And Spurs have been making PR gaffs for years under his leadership. Don't see anything changing now.
I really can't say anything against Levy's bonus, but the timing was appalling.
We're one of the richest clubs in the world and one of the highest grossing in sports. 3MM is objectively a lot of money, but comparatively, really is quite a modest bonus. When you factor into the value Levy has added to the club with financial stability, 3MM is actually pretty insulting to him.
It is significant because its annual the bonus is a one time and Daniel deserves his compensation

I'm new to Tottenham so... Daniel Levy's job is obviously to keep the Club financially sustainable. It seems like he is doing that in an environment where other people in his position aren't. I agree the bonus is hard to take because of the amount but at that level those are the amounts paid and if you want someone who is decent you have to pay that or you don't attract the talent.
Sensible take. Just one thing that is a rather tiny bonus compared to other bonuses paid by companies of similar size and resource

For me there's like 14-19 players that needs to be sold & we can easily make money out of that but we also need 6-10 players coming in. Get a smaller squad, better quality players, more money to spend, give players bigger wages that deserves it, etc.
• Veliz to Bournemouth is such a good loan move, I would also look at Wolves or Leicester.
• Dewsbury-Hall would be a decent signing but he's not a player that will take us to the next step. If we want to be that big club it has to be players like Eze & Onana.
Having a smaller squad is not sensible. We’ve seen what happened this season with the injuries that we suffered. I know you are arguing the point for quality over quantity but there needs to be some level of balance. We do need to make sure we have cover for all eventualities.
@@eldante4139 When I said having a smaller squad i'm also including the players on loan. For example we have 4 LB, 5 CB & 3 RB. We don't need that many players we can sell 6/7 players to bring in 3 decent backups as well. Every position needs a good backup & not be shorted, the 23 man squad needs to be as strong & balanced as possible.

The bit that concerns me on this investment is when Levy said 'we need all shareholders to agree' meaning the 13.5% of fan shareholders to agree to dilute their shares or sell them to ENIC. This is whist they cut concessions for everyone and refuse to invest in the team to win titles. I highly doubt ENIC will sell any of their own stake in this deal, we saw our shares diluted with the last injection. Whatever you do don't sell your shares to them or the fans won't have any say in how the club is run.

i know you guys have memory issues, but cast your mind back to last season ticket price rises and there were stories of selling the club, which spurs said were 'investment 'not selling. every business is looking for investment. like last time expect nothing to come of it

The stadium was late by a season. I'm pretty sure the construction company would have accepted the liability via insurance. Levy and Spurs might have not paid as much for the stadium as you think.

Our highest paid player is son on 160k p/w is being paid the same amount as arsenals like 10th highest paid player, so i have no idea how that works. (i think ndombele is on more and peresic had big wages but they will be gone soon).

From a fan looking outside (not living on the same continent nevermind n17) we should be making as much money as possible to improve the squad. We buy shirts and other things knowing it's helping the club. Why should local season ticket holders be precious, I would love to come and watch a game and would be willing to play. This is an international club. I had to get hospitality tickets and paid a fortune for 2 games. You guys are lucky. So consider your comments.

We would definitely buy a young player who shows the talents that rodrygo has from the Brazilian league but we wouldn't go and buy a player who is already there in terms of talent they cost far too much

Agreed, other chairmen are even more egregious. Levys bonus reasonable, considering that and player wages.
I agree that Levy's bonus is an insult to him considering the financial value he has added to the club. But the optics are piss poor. Especially when you consider what they are doing to the pensioner season tickets (yes, I know the "value" of that decision is worth more than 3 mil, but it still looks really bad).
I still can't understand how we don't have a naming-rights deal in place for the stadium which would wipe out the remaining shortfall fairly swiftly for the club. It's crazy we've had the stadium this long and Levy still hasn't got anything in place in that regard, yet he's taking bonuses that equate to the price increase in tickets...what a tosser.
I was thinking this too initially, but then i remembered part of the reason why not is because when you have concerts and other events, all of those people who attend are going to their favourite thing, at 'tottenham hotspur stadium'. So millions of people who maybe knew nothing of soccer now have a positive affinity towards Tottenham and slowly but surely the team becomes one of the biggest clubs in the world. If it was Nike stadium you basically give up having this phenomenon occur. Noone thinks about Tottenham if they were going to 'Nike Stadium' for their taylor swift concert.
been widely reported that things changed as, uniquely it seems in football, due to all the other stuff at the stadium like nfl and concerts etc the tottenham brand seems to generate a lot of profile and money, meaning naming the stadium other than our name may not be the best idea.

The £600m investment will double squad investment over the next 5 years. It will dilute existing shareholders so they will be looking for a punchy valuation.
