Last season Barca got 88 points. They won once and also lost once against Madrid. This season they can get 85 points because they lost twice against Madrid in the league. If this was last season, they can actually still won the league because last season madrid only got 78 points. However, this season Madrid really improved with the addition of Bellingham and they can get 99 points if they won last 2 games.

Xavi didn't say Barça could not get titles. What he pointed out is that the club cannot keep up with the level of signings of Real Madrid at home and big clubs abroad (Man Utd, City, Bayern,etc)
Barça spent 3.5 milll € for the first team last season (plus Vitor Roque who was not Xavi's priority but he supported his comming , as he's always supported everything that the management have done)

We are lucky Xavi's worked so good with the kids from the youth categories, trained them for months with the first team and they've become huge pkayers.
