Golf looked like it was trying to setup brake boosting on the roll and SQ5 jumped the dig. Chase is a race, but I think the roll would’ve went to the golf too. SQ5 is corny for the hazards

Why was the Audi taking so long to line up on the first roll when the R was brake boosting properly?? Then he lines up the second time and jumps it all of a sudden. Nice cars but bad runs.

That’s what makes this even better. An SQ5 with upgraded turbos and weight reduction still lost to a stock turbo Golf R. The SQ5 owner is big mad in the comments section. Hell, I would be too, but what do you expect racing a 4500lb SUV? Power to weight ratio isn’t in your favor. 😂

Jumped on the dig, then wouldn’t line up with the r brake boosting and let’s not forget the half ass count down and jump.
The SQ5 driver should’ve pumped the brakes before engaging launch control, i doubt he wanted that to happen.
It won’t get off the line as good as a proper launch with pumped brakes and it looks like AMAX was deactivated due to that poor setup.
As for the roll, I think the Golf could’ve done better. Neither run was great for both cars to be fair so we can only speculate.
It looks like the Golf accelerates harder at lower speeds and the SQ5 at higher speeds, but again, it’s hard to say since both cars obviously did better at their better runs
The second run both cars were basically neck and neck. A clean start and they would have been side by side. Just goes to show what weight reduction can do.

Golf has an upgraded turbo on a 15 inch dragpack on all 4s fully gutted to the metal running ms109 but told auto glory its just FBO he can only go by what people tell him

the R lost because of the breakboosting, those cars dont like to be break boosted hard like that. I dont even know why he did that, the turbo on the R is so small from factory.
This is facts. I am the original owner of a 2017 GTI 6spd. Its been tuned its entire life and has a bunch of mods on it. It does not take well to brake boosting. My buddy with an EVO V didn't believe me until he drove my car.
First off, I pulled on him very hard with my IS38 on a custom tune. He said he had 240whp. We started a roll from 35mph, and we were even in 2nd gear, but when I hit 3rd gear, I was pulling an easy bus length on him. Anyways, he was also brake boosting, and I wasn't. He asked why and I said the car doesn't like it that much. He didn't believe me, so we switched cars. He drove my GTI and I drove his EVO. We did the same race, and it was the same result, but before we did the race, he was tying to brake boost on my GTI and it wasn't as easy as he thought it would be. So, on that race, he didn't brake boost. When I was driving his EVO, I brake boosted. It was waaaaaaaaaayyyy easier on his EVO!!
Mk8 r have bigger turbo than mk7 r, not that of a small turbo.

If you KNOW BOTH platforms, the SQ5 would take both dig and rolls despite the 1000lbish weight delta clean races or not. I suggest pumping the brakes on a dig on the B9 so you dont push through the brakes.
Seriously? If both have exact same boltons more or less with same software the SQ5 ain't winning shit. There is only a slight disadvantage in power numbers between the two but the Aud is a pig and would get suffer even more humiliation if they raced again 😅😅

I have owned three Volkswagen golf Rs good cars , but in the last two years I’ve owned 2 SQ5s , classier a gentleman’s car. The golf has many good positive action, Butte, but it’s just a tiny thing. God bless it I
haven’t watch the race yet but I’m going with the SQ5. You can make them so fast and they sound a lot better than a four-cylinder. My opinion.
Volkswagen is very good. But it’s only a four-cylinder and it only sounds so good the S Q5 is more luxury and sporty very sporty and it’s classier and fastIER 🙏🏼🇺🇸🌞 Trump 2024
