I can remember ALL of these cars! I had them. I also loved the wedge shaped front of the Fire Engines, Tow Truck and Ambulances that no one ever shows in their collections. I, sometimes, wish that I had a few. LOVE THAT DODGE DEORA AND TWINMILL!!! MOPAR VEHICLES!!! I worked for Chrysler Corporation just like my father before me.
Extremely Belated Congratulations on getting the original 16. I’m at that point in my collecting life right now. I am going back and buying classic pieces. I don’t have the original 16 yet and I don’t have to rush but I am working towards assembling them now. That baby blue Silhouette is absolutely gorgeous. I love it.
I had starting collecting theses 2 weeks agos. They're definetely the best hot wheels models that i seen in my entire life. Unfortunately, theys ares pretty expensive, but I think i will collect them all! For now, i have 3 chaparral 2g, 2 lola gt and 2 awesome plymouth fury police cruiser. Awesome cars!
Some people may not want the drama that could come when they reveal prices. I'd rather give viewers a real world experience as to how much some cars are worth.
Great video! Always enjoy the longer showcase of your cars. Bet it was well worth the treat to purchase all of those for $1900! Especially doing so to share with everyone. Love the Ford MKIV, one of my favorite Le Mans cars. Always learning more from your videos, though I'm not sure I'd find myself going for these. At the moment, I'm hunting for classic Tomica's, even though I don't have the money to. Doesn't hurt to dream though.
ADDED TO FAVORITES ;) Super Liked, and if there were any more buttons to click to show how much I enjoyed this video I would be clicking those too lol. Mark you got a really nice collection there. I am barely half way to my sweet 16 and some of mine are pretty clean but the 16 you got are like wow! they are just beautiful cars! Redlines and Spectraflame paint will always be my favorite. Thank you for sharing Mark.
Congratulations, you must have been so happy to get these, I only have a few original redlines, but I am happy with the ones I have, I prefer the RLC re-issues I have.
I have a lot of those original redlines from my childhood. I have always had them and probably always will. Its crazy to say that you got a good deal spending $1900 on Hot Wheels, but you did...
Nice cars! I really like the Eldorado's! I was at Zeller's here in Canada yesterday and noticed a new hot wheels collection called Boulevard. Some nice cars in that line-up.
Love the sneezing / sniffling section from 8:00 on. Cars are great too, especially your Camaro duet + this gorgeous magenta Charger at 14:00 which is probably worth USD500 today...
Yes, these definitely came to market to take no prisoners. When Mattel decided to come up with a cool product in the diecast cars category, they came out like gangbusters!
Awesome video racegrooves - I haven't even looked at early stuff since getting into the hobby so this was a good look at some of the original models available. Some serious coin, but as you say - work hard so you can play.
Yes, it is a LOT of money! But the success of the Channel has afforded me to purchase these cars. In turn, I will be able to make a video of the original 16 Hot Wheels plus I can do individual features of each model. Thanks =)
The Paddy Wagon is a classic Hot Wheels model. I was talking to my friend Carl, you know, I have a video of his childhood redlines that he still owns, and he said that the Hot Heap was one model that was very popular when he was growing up. He never found one at the stores. So when I took him to a Convention a few years ago, his sole purpose was to acquire the Hot Heap!
i've seen this, in near where my dad works there is a tesco, as i looked though the HW's i found a case opened, its either two things, person wanting it, or a kid wanting it and opening it before its paid for, if you go onto DCTV they have a bit where someone only took 1 car from a 5 pack, i'm just wondering if there's an error where the box has been selaed but, no car
Agreed. The values of redlines have been determined due to the passage of time and rarity. I should not have to worry about the value of these in the future. Even if they drop a bit, most of the value will still be there. People were selling Super Treasure Hunts and many of them could be found for $20. The value of those will definitely be dropping even further - Thanks!
I wouldn't say I'm rich but one time in 14 years of collecting, I can spend this kind of money. Now, it's back to the affordable stuff because redlines can be addicting =)
Yes, the Spectraflame paint definitely sets the original Hot Wheels apart from the other brands at the time! That's why HWs quickly catapulted into the #1 spot in the diecast category.
I like the Eldo's too. Big pieces of metal =) As for the current Boulevard selections that you seen at Zeller's, the Boulevard series is very well executed! Great card art, excellent paint and wheels on the models. There are just a few models that I think that they should not have included in the series but even those are still nicely presented.
I do have quite a lot to learn, having only started collecting again in February of this year. But it's been great learning from your videos about the hobby and the diecasts themselves. Being a fan of classic Japanese cars, Tomica has far too many cars that I have the money to spend on. Especially the Tomica Limited line with realistic wheels and rubber tires.
Hey racegrooves my dad has the splittenvision original redline, its an olive green color and its in really good shape, but it is missing the motor part, how much do you think it is worth
I love the Hairy Hauler! I have a few colors. For being so small, it is a pretty good downhill racer! You're the second one to mention the 'p' as a monetary designation. I tried to google the conversion but I'm not sure. Is 'p' for British Pound? GBP? Because if so, then 50GBP is way to much for a Hairy Hauler with a cracked windscreen. I don't know a lot about pricing but I know the Hairy Hauler isn't that popular.
I found a redline in a store, not a dollar store,i got mine randomly,it fell of a case and the price was $1.99 iknow it was cheap and its not fake too.
Original HWs were processed differently. The raw casting was tumbled in a material to polish them a bit then the clear Spectraflame paint was applied. The paint is clear, not metallic. Since that process was expensive, they went to enamel paints to hide blemishes in the metal and the casting.
lol race grooves i was at the convention i saw on the elevator with your daughter.I bought a purple charger from Anita 2 bought yours is probably the one she had over 200 dollars i got a 70 dollar one,but of course i bartered to get the price down, nice cars!
That's funny! I need to add sneezing to my keywords to the video =) As for whether vintage redlines work on present-day track, that's why I bought some beaters too so that we can find out together =)
Phenomenal works of art. They definitely don't make them like they used to. Thanks for sharing with us all, Mark!
Extremely Belated Congratulations on getting the original 16. I’m at that point in my collecting life right now. I am going back and buying classic pieces. Wow amazing collection!
T-bird looks sweet and the old colours still look brilliant even today!
Track time with $250 car. It better win.
@Abdiel Johan We don't care, virgin spammer.
YAY!!! THE SILHOUETTE WAS A BEAUTIFULLY STRANGE VEHICLE WHEN I WAS A CHILD AND I LOVED THE WAY IT FLOWED DOWN MY ORANGE TRACKS AS A CHILD!!!
Great selection!!! Thanks for sharing and kudos to you!!! Love the Benz 280SL, that would be my favourite ,love how short and sharp it is !
thank you very much for showing these very nice oldies! those Eldorado's are my favorite and the mustang i really like!
Some very nice pieces. Love me some Redlines.
Awesome addition to your collection.
I had starting collecting theses 2 weeks agos. They're definetely the best hot wheels models that i seen in my entire life. Can you collect the pink beachbomb?
AWESOME!What a bunch of Great cars and another great video.Great purchase Mark!Take care, tom.
i wish i had a real one, i've been watching your video these past few days. Oh and this is the best video i've watched so far no joke im serious :D
Nice video. I like the fact you showed the prices you paid as some people act like it's a big secret. Love that Purple Charger.
Some people may not want the drama that could come when they reveal prices. I'd rather give viewers a real world experience as to how much some cars are worth.
Good for you! Very kind of you to share with all of us,thanks! Keep up the good work! :-)
Just loving it. In my eyes of diecast Redlines originals
Great video! Always enjoy the longer showcase of your cars. Bet it was well worth the treat to purchase all of those for $1900! Especially doing so to share with everyone. highly respect what you said and whatever you work hard for you deserve by all means that's just scratching the surface get what you work for

Fantastic redlines!

Congratulations, you must have been so happy to get these, I only have a few original redlines, but I am happy with the ones I have, I prefer the RLC re-issues I have.
I'm glad that I bought them when I did because nowadays, I would not be able to afford them.
I have a lot of those original redlines from my childhood. I have always had them and probably always will. Its crazy to say that you got a good deal spending $1900 on Hot Wheels, but you did...

That Mercedes 280SL brings back memories....
Haha I love it when you sneeze. :) awesome redlines, looking forward to the proper video greatly! :)
The Deora looks PERFECT in that aqua color. And it's got the boards too! :-D
Awesome Redlines mark! And Very Expensive!!Thanks for Sharing...
All these are awesome
Nice collections!!!
Love the sneezing / sniffling section from 8:00 on. Cars are great too, especially your Camaro duet + this gorgeous magenta Charger at 14:00 which is probably worth USD500 today...
I don't recall if I have found the 2013 HW450F dirt bike yet. It isn't exactly a model I collect.
I have Beatnik Bandit, And Silhouette! I love them like there is no tomorrow...
Those are really nice!
The old classics r beautiful even the twin mill
DeEjAy cool.
I enjoy collecting these even tho I'm 12! I have a mint Aqua Porsche 917 HK and a hidden hinge ford j Hk. love this video man

Yes, it is a LOT of money! But the success of the Channel has afforded me to purchase these cars. In turn, I will be able to make a video of the original 16 Hot Wheels plus I can do individual features of each model. Thanks =)
That's the stuff dreams are made of. Very nice man!!!

Simply awesome, I really love that custom charger O.O
Really love the 280sl too!
LOL! That was pretty funny. I shared it with my daughter and she got a good laugh too =)
That mustang is awesome
No doubt, these pieces are definitely the highly of my collection!
When you look at price guides, be sure to check whether the prices represent the models in the package or them loose. Thanks!
Love the original 16. Do you have a video on how to straighten the wheels?
Yes, these should be able to hold their value and be worth the money for a long time.
i've seen this, in near where my dad works there is a tesco, as i looked though the HW's i found a case opened, its either two things, person wanting it, or a kid wanting it and opening it before its paid for, if you go onto DCTV they have a bit where someone only took 1 car from a 5 pack, i'm just wondering if there's an error where the box has been selaed but, no car
Mr. Racegrooves, my son and I bought our first Redline a 1969 Splittin' Image in aqua. First of hopefully many to come. Thanks from J & N
Yeah, all of my redlines got passed down to my younger brothers and then to my nephews. They are all long gone just like yours.
Love that VW. Cool!
The Corvette is one where she had a few colors but this one just really stuck out!
Nice RLs congrats!
I have never sneezed so much in a video LOL!
@foxbodylover7993 It is a Custom VW Bug, not stock.
Thanks. This is where it all began!
Very nice cars, I like the old cars... by the way my favorite is the fire chief car, thats pretty nice.
I will show the RLC Hot Heat compared to the original redline version in the future. The modern version is definitely shiny and is a work of art!
Agreed. The values of redlines have been determined due to the passage of time and rarity. I should not have to worry about the value of these in the future. Even if they drop a bit, most of the value will still be there. People were selling Super Treasure Hunts and many of them could be found for $20. Yes, they have the bent-axle suspension.
I wouldn't say I'm rich but one time in 14 years of collecting, I can spend this kind of money. Now, it's back to the affordable stuff because redlines can be addicting =)

Yes, Mattel is doing a nice job with the Neo-Classics on HWC/RLC. Did you buy the Hot Heap? Mine arrived.
Congrats!
I do have quite a lot to learn, having only started collecting again in February of this year. But it's been great learning from your videos about the hobby and the diecasts themselves. ok there they are... very nice even the ones you call rough ,, are still sweet ,, im glad you did not get any restored ones .they are all over ebay...
Hey racegrooves my dad has the splittenvision original redline, its an olive green color and its in really good shape, but it is missing the motor part, how much do you think it is worth

Great video. Ty.
Yeah I saw it, commented and rated. BTW I know how much you love for people to ask for cars ;-). Keep up the great videos.
very nice cars !
How much cars do u have of the redline cars in the vid and how much did evry thing cost
I have been trying to look and is the woody an original 16 car?
That one sounds like an old Shell Promotion but I'm not sure if the Mantis was one of those cars. Either way, that's an old one!
nice stuff for sure
These take me back to the days of playing Hot Wheels Turbo Racing on the PS1... need Stunt Track Driver if that's the correct name,
I was not intending to buy the Fire Chief because it is not a 1st year Hot Wheel. But this one looked so nice that I couldn't pass it up!
That Charger IS a Sweet Color!!!
Did you have a Silhouette?
The Beatnic Bandit is nice too! I has some of those.
oh yah! #4 nice cars!
I found a redline in a store, not a dollar store,i got mine randomly,it fell of a case and the price was $1.99 iknow it was cheap and its not fake too.
is it the colour of the metal shining thru the paint that gives it the metallic look or is the paint itself actually metallic?
Original HWs were processed differently. The raw casting was tumbled in a material to polish them a bit then the clear Spectraflame paint was applied. The paint is clear, not metallic. Since that process was expensive, they went to enamel paints to hide blemishes in the metal and the casting.

Thanks!
What a great deal! And bless u
Yes, finally, 14 years collecting and I can finally buy the original sixteen!
What do you think a AMX hot pink with few nicks but nice chrome rim's are worth? And blue window if that makes difference.
Sorry, redline values are not my expertise. That's why I only by from reputable people because I trust them.
+Steven Loconsole Thanks.
As long as the delrin bushing is still on the axle, you could get a wheel from another donor model.
Got hold of the 68 VW bug in the original packaging. Paid only 10 dollars for it at Value Village.
GOD BLESS YOU!!!
your breaking my heart with that 67 Camaro redline because im after that car like theres no tomorrow and I have not found a redline version yet
That's funny! I need to add sneezing to my keywords to the video =)
As for whether vintage redlines work on present-day track, that's why I bought some beaters too so that we can find out together =)
Yeah, the Charger is a sweet piece!
I did not get the hot heap because it was after I was a member but it sounds really cool and can't wait for new hwc cars.
I did negotiate a bulk price. I don't remember if I mentioned it in this video but thanks for watching and commenting.
