like the early 2000's 90's films for sure their style is perfect great asthetic but man this film over glorified being a racer and probably warped a lot of kids minds into criminal shit cause they thought it looked fun in the film forgetting that brian is a cop and is well trained...the first film may have celebrated the criminal characters with no real likeable hero like in the sequel but at least it showed us how niche and underground and secretive and dangerous racing was...the 2nd film is pure hollywood...the first film felt real and grungy like it would be like...the 2nd film and the third sold merch..thats what they were made for

Edit; when i initially posted this i had the r32 in my head but even then they still are expensive, Any GTR is expensive, especially the r34 and now the r35.
A modified one it was still slow as hell to need all that nitrous to hit 160kph roughly 110mph

thats what makes a show or film legendary and sets it apart the acting writing directing editing characters plot matters but so does the way its filmed the soundtrack the designs the cinematography looks clothes witty banter...a lot matters and back in the day it felt like more talented less likely to work together people were working on stuff together to make a great project...now everyone is competing and it hurts quality cause more people choose who to work with even if it doesn't make for the best quality and back when it was tougher to make film you can cover each other's weak points and see new perspectives and broaden your world view working with people you would normally never speak to but now everyone wants to be in entertainment so its less niche more easy to access actors and help without needing to go to the serious best people who you may not agree with working with normally but to get passion project done you will suck it up and do it and it turns out usually good

I remember watching this movie in theater for the first time, I was 13 years old.. it was full, even people were on the floor… the music had just started and everybody was on their feet shouting and clapping.. 2 hours later people were racing in the streets… that was the best movie of the serie, that was real, that was the best era

Man watching this in theaters was one of the best fucking experiences I’ve ever had! As a teenager I was so hype.. from the background music choice, the visuals, hearing the engines reviving.. I couldn’t believe what I was watching at the time..
Secondly.. watching Brain drive to the race will forever give me goosebumps. This scene alone made me fall in love with the GTR.. from the sound, to how he was shifting, cutting lanes, the blue neons underneath.. NO racing movie will ever top this movie.. EVER!

When I first watched this as a kid I had no idea I was looking at legendary cars
Yea most of these cars are worth upwards to 60-80k stock that skyline is probably around 250k with all those mods and upgrades under the hood
The first thru the 4th movie was solid. I even liked 5 just cuz they brought most of the main characters back in there but after that they went downhill very fast and very furiously. (Btw 2F2F my all time favorite)
