PLOT: This sequel focuses on ex-police officer Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker), who relocates from Los Angeles to Miami to start over. 4:00 is probably the best Roman we ever seen. A mixture of laughs and seriousness. He enters the frame as a joke, cleaning the windshield and spouting nonsense. Then he takes out the lighter and we see his true colours.

I love how every interaction seem so natural, not forced acting like the more recent movies somehow. How at 1:28, Suki wants to show her design but almost accidentally does it upside down. Interactions between Brian & Jimmy, Brian & Tej, .. just so good

The Rock was good in these films but he had to go cause Vin douse not like him. I always questioned why Vin was not in the second film probably cause the director didn’t want him screwing up the film
Fun Fact: Devon Aoki the asian girl in this movie, her brother is Steve Aoki and her dad was Rocky Aoki, he use to be a successful racer, before becoming the founder of Benihana. When her Dad died in 2008. She decided to quit acting and start a family, cause she realized life is too short.

the first one was a action movie about a cop going undercover in the street racing world to find out who has been high jacking simi trucks.
the 2nd movie was about a on the run cop getting a chance to be free again by helping the FBI.
this franchise was NEVER about cars

Wiki says even Tokyo drift used technicolor as well. I’m not sure when they switched to digital. IMDb also says they used technicolor’s lab in Hollywood for the processing of their negatives. I don’t know too much about film tho
It's hard to watch Paul Walker after his death, he was such a natural, 2f2f was one of the best movies John Singleton is a legend RIP John Singleton and Paul Walker.
Justin Lin destroyed this franchise Tokyo drift was okay and Fast 4 but after that even though I liked Fast 5 it got stupid real quick they lost their way it was not about cars and cops anymore it became about super villains and family and Vin is part of the problem too. They need to reboot this franchise somehow it’s gotten stale

I just listened to the DIrector's commentary for 2 fast the other day, didn't even know it was on the DVD until i checked the audio settings. Lots of gems of info in there, Paul really was what he portrayed and pushed hard to do his own stunts to make it feel authentic, because it was.
@@ryans413 Meh I think he proved himself capable with Tokyo drift which was ahead of its time. Fast 5 I thought was nutty but the practical FX and carnage with the safe at the climax of the film i think makes the film worth the watch. It was still somewhat believable.
Fast 6 tho I think was where they took it too far. I'll never forget the endless runway. Fast 7 was even more insane to the point where it isn't believable anymore. Unfortunately the box office numbers don't reflect the quality of the movies. Even the rides for fast and furious at universal are terrible and considered the most hated in the parks. The queues are literally the best part. Yet they still have attendance, I tried it just to see how bad it is... it was awful. I have not watched any of the new ones after 7. I'm sure they're still fun to watch but any resemblance to the original films is basically gone at this point.
Man this Roman was dope. They made him real dirty with all that unnecessary Comic relief stuff.

My parents just bought me a new TV and a DVD player for Christmas in 2005 and this was the first movie I got on DVD. I watched it like 20 times in that month....
I loved Roman as soon as he was brought into the cast from 2F2F. His smart and funny mouth always got me.

I'm probably in the minority here as the first Fast and Furious was really good....but I actually liked the second one better. I just happened to have just gotten a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse at the time and low and behold I see this movie at the dollar theater and I see (a modified version of) my own car! I felt so surprised. That's my corny little story about how I saw this film.

@@nahrafe ...nope. I don't have it anymore. But it was a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT - it was a 3.6L V6 if I remember. I know it was a Turbo charged V6. That I'm sure of. I owned it in Hawaii and on the US mainland. I did a cross country road trip with it. Florida to Minnesota and then back.

I wonder what happened to Tej’s garage. Assumable that he was working up until Fast 5, but did the garage close in his absence? What happened to Jimmy and Suki? What happened between 2 and Fast & Furious that Brian and Roman ran out of the money they skimmed from the feds at the end and Brian went back to being a cop?
Part of me is feeling like 2fast 2furious, as is, is non canon
It’s cannon, Dom mentions in fast 5 something like “I heard about that Miami job you did.”
Well fast and furious (4) retconned some of the original continuity of the first two. But the best I can put together is Tej, Jimmy, Suki, Brian and Roman all kept up what they had going there in Miami but the money soon ran dry as the tuner scene was running on fumes thus they all broke apart and went on their own merry ways to make a living.
As for Brian he got a sweet deal from the feds to be ‘reinstated’ by bilkins no doubt and moved back to L.A. for the events of 4 and the rest plays out as it did in 5 to 9
To me it is like all that was after Tokyo Drift is non canon
@@ramses3033 it’s still canon the only minor continuity error is the tech, like the laptops and cellphones but hey, it’s just like the continuity error of Brian being reinstated as a fed even though he never was and only worked undercover for LAPD trying to get his detective badge

Only after F4 (Fast & Furious) he saw new light of being 'righteous', that is to have real family. The rest is history. As for Roman and Tej, well, they could be like what you said. But those two clearly aren't the settled type. They have robust, adventurous life style which of course wouldn't let them stay for long in one place or job.
