- The 9-11 Tribute to America Truck was built starting 3 weeks after the dreadful day that we will never forget in New York City. The creator of the 911 Tribute To America Truck Anthony Pristera was a New York Fire Fighter who took the truck to ground zero after completion in 2002 and was given the key to New York City from Rudolph Guilliani and Governor Pataki.
Anthony's 9-11 Tribute to America Truck was not only seen at Ground Zero but also made the front cover of 7 national magazines, it took first place in numberous custom car shows in Florida, and can be seen in the movie 2 Fast 2 Furious. Anthony says just the air brush paint on the truck covering it from head lights to tail lights was over $64,000. Anthony stated that the truck upon completion totaled close to 1/4 million dollars.
Today Anthony Pristera's Tribute To America Truck can be seen at Carville's Auto Mart in Grand Junction, Co. Here it is used to honor our military and veterans and helps with local fundraising events like the Community Food Bank by being present across the grand valley. During the 2016 Colorado Mesa University Homecoming Parade Kris "Tanto" Paronto former US Army Ranger Hero of Benghazi's Libya Attack and co-author of the best selling book "13 Hours in Benghazi" led the parade in the Carville's Auto Mart Tribute to America Truck and did a live feed speaking of the Patriotism that this community brings and what this truck represents. Romans Mitsubishi eclipse: Some random purple car and found on the ground definitely didn't look like it, but it did the job. Brian's Mitsubishi lancer evolution: I kind of had the car but not really. first of all, it was red and second of all it was kind of bigger than all the other hot wheels so it looked really weird when I was doing this re-creation of the scene. The BMW M3, Saleen Mustang, and the Chevrolet Corvette: I forgot what all three of those cars looked like so, i used some random hot wheels cars that kind of match the colors. The Dodge viper: it's kind of the same case for the for the Mitsubishi Evo but instead the Dodge viper was the 1990ish model. Last but not least, the Ferrari: I didn't even know that there is a Ferrari in the scene even though it was the main reason they where racing. P.S for the Camaro, I used a tooned version of it. And for the Challenger, I forgot which car I used for that.
No matter how crazy the newer movies get this is this an iconic moment in the series for me

People nowadays call that stuff rice. I call it art. People actually cared and did their best with the paintjob design. Nowadays I mostly opt for a clean look, but I always appreciate the classics when they're well done.

I will admit that the plot has gone outlandish with these badass street racers teaming up with law enforcement and saving the world all the time from super hackers and military trained people. Especially with the newest movie with Hobbs and Shaw. I still watch though since I'm loyal to the franchise.

Back when the selection of tuner car choices were much more vast and uniquely diverse instead of being the same old same old, Civic, Integra, Supra, GTR, and so on! I seen like a Sentra, 3rd gen MR2, and even a PT cruiser at one point in here and it made me happy since there was a version that basically had a SRT4 engine inside it! I kinda miss the diversity of car choice back then that most don't have now.. Cars like the 7th Gen Celica & more importantly 3G Eclipse despite being in this movie still get hate when we can make power just like these other guys on stock blocks and its crazy to think about.. Im at least glad that those kinds of cars got to shine since diverse car selection has been dwindled down to a bunch of "same - old - same - old - been - there - done - that - a - million - times - already" builds with cars that are already obviously fast/cam be made fast and its seriously getting played out and is making it kind of annoying/boring.. Bring back the othwe underdogs like the later gen Eclipses or Celicas or hell, even shit like the 99 Acura CL or Hyundai Tiburon or something to spie up the car scene again!! Thats all im sayin' cuz the game needs variety....
Back then we got custom one off bodykits and wings, cool decals and now we got widebody kits that looks half-assed and the same.
I love this scene because it shows every single sports car I grew up seeing on the road as a kid!

Literally cinematic history with the choreography and coordination of everyone.
This was my favorite part in the movie when I used to see it when I was a kid. Me an my little brother would always do this part with little cars haha..cause we had a bunch of them and two cop cars and we would just act it out.
Car customizing was much better during these times, nowadays anything that stands out is “riced” most of the people who consider these cars ugly, riced, etc... don’t see that there is more to cars than just focusing on performance. Besides boosting your car isn’t cheap, there are many things of what can go wrong, Japan has a great example of a proper car scene and a great respect towards one another’s rides. If only more people understood that not everything has to be performance based. I can only hope the future car culture in the U.S will become more respectful to personal customization 👍🏼
