Today we look at some really annoying windows features nobody likes and I will show you how to disable them. These are hidden Windows 11 22H2 registry tweaks that can bring back a lot of Windows 10 features you used to like. All these registry tweaks working Windows 11 22H2 and Windows 10.

1. Disable Dynamic Search Box
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SearchSettings
Add Dword32 Key: IsDynamicSearchBoxEnabled
Value: 0 = Disables
2. Remove Bing from Start Menu
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
Add key: Explorer
Add Dword32 Key: DisableSearchBoxSuggestions
Set value to 1
3. How To Disable Web Search For Start Menu In Windows 11
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search
AllowSearchToUseLocation 0
BingSearchEnabled 0
CortanaConsent 0
4. Get Back Windows 10 Ribbon UI in Windows 11

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell Extensions
Create a subkey called “Blocked” if it doesn’t exist and select it.
On the right pane add {e2bf9676-5f8f-435c-97eb-11607a5bedf7} as a string value.
5. Enable classic right-click context menu on Windows 11
reg add "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{d93ed569-3b3e-4bff-8355-3c44f6a52bb5}\InprocServer32" /d "" /f
Log off and log back in for the change to take effect.

Hi Brian. Good stuff. Wondering if there's a wy to restore the Windows 10 Tile start menu and have it fuul screen, and all its functionallity, like it was in windows 10.
Just started the vid, but I removed the search altogether in taskbar settings. The windows button/start menu still uses search if needed. And you can stop the highlights within search settings. Though, I only found that out just now, LOL. Just updated my win10 to win11 on Friday. Great vid! Will probably turn off the web search since that is annoying.
The biggest issue for me was the context menu. I hate the simplified version and all the dang pictures. Why did they use pictures when everyone is going to be looking for words instead. SMH my head. Found a registry fix in another video.

Hey Brian! Regarding the first tweak, there's actually a toggle for that in search permissions >> more settings>>show search highlights
You've just made Win-11 a more attractive option these tweeks are great, I many upgrade to Win-11 because of these changes, Thanks for the work

In the "Get Back Win10 Ribbon UI in Win11" section you pasted this key: {e2bf9676-5f8f-435c-97eb-11607a5bedf7} but in video at the same time the screen said "Add key" and it showed this: {86calaa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}. Which one is it?
When you added the key to disable search box suggestions, you said to leave the key value at 0 to disable it. Given that the key is called DisableSearchBoxSuggestions, it seems like the value should be a 1 to do the disable.

Nice... Unless i did something wrong, i downloaded the regedit key for changing the right click to standard windows 10, and activated the key... My computer was displaying a black screen.
I had to use alt clt del to get the task manager up, go to running services, and open location of one of the files to get file explorer to open. Then go to the download and select the same regedit and use the disable key. Logged out and back into windows and i could again see the ui... From there i was able to do a windows restore from right before i made this change... What in the world happened!?!
The reason i had to do a restore is because my folder options were mostly disabled, definitely not helpful.
Hi Brian. Cracking video. Regarding the Key to enable the W10 File Explorer ribbon. It didn't work for me. Nothing happened ever after a restart. The only difference I can see is I've got the update for 22H2 that brings the tabs in explorer. In your video you didn't have the tabs (as yet). Can you shed any light please? It would be nice to have the old ribbon back. Thanks. Donald.

I use the search substitute provided with power toys. You get a large on screen area and as the type ahead is very fast immediately offering what search engine you want to use. It's great !

Brian! one thing Microsoft removed in the latest feature update was 'Folders' I seen you add the Ribbon but could you show a fix that works for'
Proper in order folders back? I added strings to put them back but.. they are not in the order, we've all been accustom to over the years 👍🖖

Days ago it says that I could upgrade to Windows 11 22H2 but today it just says "Coming soon: Windows 11, version 22H2" and takes me to a page that says about Safeguard holds affecting your device. Do I need to do something? I'm a fairly new PC owner and no idea what I can do? Just wait until it's offered back?🤔

Windows seems to be continuing its journey south towards self destruct. The fight between MS and it's customers seems to be getting worse?
For the gamers out there sick of the Windows BS, have you considered reviewing SteamOS? It is a fully functional desktop OS (running KDE as DE) but also runs 95%+ of steam games with no issues. A perfect opportunity to step away from Windows for gamers?
I think once Linux works with all games, a lot of people will jump ship

Weird...... Didn't have to do anything. Apparently I've disabled the features in a different way, but I couldn't tell you how. Furthermore I saw that you're still on an old explorer window with no tabs. Does that make a difference?
Hi Brian. Thanks for reply. As u suggeted , it's worked after I imported the ey from your site, however when I looked in my registry it hasn't added the key there as per your video. Are they both different. WhenI followed your instruction on the video, it idn't work, but importing the "ribbon - enable" key has worked. :)

The other issue i have found after this up date is,when i go to sign in say to say ebay or Twitter ect a banner comes up on the right saying "Sign in with google"Use your google account to sign into......but i use Firefox and i don't save pass words...or could this be a virus making out it's google..i have run Malwarebytes and all clear...

I tried Windows 11 and hate UI or what they call UX. It drives me nuts that I deleted Windows 11 for Windows 10 and easily patched it and it ok.
The thumbnail is awesome, it is frustrating to use all these windows features.

When we open This PC, above devices and drivers, there is Folders section that contain Desktop, docouments, downloads etc. When i update to 22h2 the Folders section is gone. Can you tell me how to show the Folders section again?

i always create a restore point
and when ive needed to restore, it never works
i had to try it today.
started at 1000hrs.
i was still spinning onscreen at 1800hrs

that string value Brian that supposed bring back the old ribbon does not work on my versh, the same as yours, tried for ages to rectify .... the only thing that does work is a piece of software called Startallback

Sir, im facing issue with thumbnails of videos in win 10 (its active and up to date)
pictures are showing its thumbnails but videos are not longer showing it. I did everything like default view in file options ( show thumbnails), erasing of temp cache , used vlc ,mpc ,windows media player but nothing is working to show thumbnails. googled solutions and implemented them But issue still persist. Apart from this issue windows other features are working perfectly.

@@LYFB Try installing K-lite mega codec pack. It has thumbnail generation for all types of videos, in addition to that, it has a built-in video player MPC-HC, you can opt in to install.
