I remember last season when Mayfield played for the Rams without a training session.
I think what Jets fans can't articulate is "We know the seasons over but we at least don't want to spend the rest of this washed season looking at Zach Wilson and being reminded every game of the failure of his era."
n what you n people like you need to realize is it doesn't mean sht who is qb as long as we have that offensive line smh blaming zack is stupid did we forget why Rodgers not playing? 🤦🏽♂️
@birdflukfc the o line certainly seems to be worse than everyone thought. Still, Wilson doesn't look like he even CAN eventually become a viable backup QB. Might as well drop Wilson and grab any random person. Wentz. Matt Ryan. Whatever.
Rooting for ZW. Stinks to see him struggle. Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.God bless! Jesus is the way and saves! Psalms 62✝🤍💪
So you'd rather bring in someone like Minshew or Wentz, win 5 or 6 games and miss out on Caleb Williams. Does the word SMART mean anything to Jets fans?
@@birdflukfcYa but there is 0 way to take pressure off the O-Line or Run game if the QB can't make any plays. The Chiefs made it to the Superbowl with a horrid O-Line even if they lost.
Man, 3 weeks ago the vibe was so different.
Life comes at you fast folks.
The Jets may have had their aspirations crushed faster than any team in NFL history.
I mean, everybody told them the honeymoon would end sooner or later. Just happened to come sooner. The Jets got hitched in a shotgun wedding and now are left taking care of the child on their own.
Detroit Lions fan here. We had Tim Boyle, he is a turnover machine.
At least he throws the ball.... Zach holds the ball like he is holding old b**bs
@@EagleFang86Lol
Or you have peterman as a #2
I say immediately have this kid run with the ball. First drive QB bomb, QB rollout, QB run, QB rollout. Literally tell this kid before the game F-it. Everyone hates you, your done here, go out and make some highlight tape throws and play backyard football. Walk up to the line and tell GW and MH to run a go routes on the outside. Whoever beats their man gets the ball. Rukert run to 1down marker and turn around. Just say F-it and put all the chips in the middle. We go 3 and out on every play anyway, who cares, just sling it or run with it
You know what.... this is as good as any idea I've read. Nothing to lose really.
Might as well…but, you know he can’t tell when someone has beat their man so it would just be throw it to whoever.
😂👍
He wouldn’t even know if someone beat their man, nor is he accurate enough to deliver a pass to a wide open receiver!
I feel bad for mecole hardman. He took a chance getting a 1 year prove it deal with the jets instead of taking that same deal with KC and its looking like hes going to lose a lot of money because of it. If he stayed in kc one more year, as long as hes healthy andy wouldve found ways to get him the ball in the red zone like he was doing last year. He couldve got a better pay day next year but now he'll need to sign another 1 year prove it deal for even less money.
I sorta agree but Mecole Hardman just isn't the guy that any team is about to break the bank on. At best, he's a gadget player and I don't think any team was going to give him more than 65ish targets. He was never going to get a payday of like 9mil per year.
It's a waste of energy to feel bad for someone who made a grown man decision and is learning life lessons.
That was before they landed Rodgers and brought in Lazard and Cobb
Injuries
Could’ve just as easily been mahomes that tore his Achilles instead… football is unpredictable
Anyone who wants Tim Boyle should look up his career stats for the NFL and college.
That man is only on an NFL roster because he's friends with Rodgers.
I think the Jets should hold a public open tryout :)
The Jets should have signed Carson Wentz as the backup to Aaron Rodgers early in the offseason. They would be in a pretty good spot right now with a QB like Wentz who can at least make the basic plays.
When he himself isn’t injured…..
wentz? interception king? double ankler breaker?
Should have never signed Rodgers. Should have signed Carr and spent big on the o-line. Instead of Rodgers and all his over the hill buddies in positions we didn't need to upgrade
LOL
Oh yeah
Then two in the same room…. That’s gonna go great
Agree or Ryan anyone really I guess would be better
Man even as a Pats fan, Saleh is an astounding coach and I want him to keep being a HC but he’s costing himself his job by sticking with Zach Wilson, he’s unplayable and they need to move on from him
If the Jets cut him, no one would pick him up. I told the idiot Jets fans going all in on Rodgers isn’t gonna work out the way they imagined and here we are
When the coach doesn't have much in the QB cupboard he has to make the Organization look good by selling Wilson. Trouble with Saleh is he doesn't sound like he believes his answers.
What makes Saleh "outstanding"? Genuine question.
Nah bro, I'm a Pats fan too but Saleh is not a good coach. He has all this talent and can't do anything with it. Rex Ryan took a team led by Mr. Butt Fumble Sanchez and got in the playoffs. Saleh keeps fumbling this QB situation worse than our Pats have with Mac Jones. Saleh needs to actually coach, and all we've seen from him is him swearing at his players to get better like that's gonna motivate them. How about he draws up some plays that make Zach better. Or use the 49'ers method of play where QB doesn't matter much. Or run the ball more, or hire a new QB, or a million other things. All they're doing right now is crying about a 40 year old getting hurt (which we all knew would happen sooner or later and it happened sooner).
@@razzleyaheard3204I wanted Derek Carr and Mike white Derek Carr was interested in the jets and didn’t cost any draft capital. But unfortunately the jets gave up a lot for a 39 year deal legend
“Payoffs? Don’t talk about playoffs.”
- Jim Mora
Considering the Jets O-line, why does everyone assume if Rogers didn't get hurt on the fourth play he would've stayed upright and win games from then on? A creaky O-line plus a creaky QB doesn't equal an outstanding offense. Based on their play with Wilson I'm guessing Rogers getting hurt was a question of when not if.
That was Aaron’s fault on that play he was injured btw. O-line is not great but that wasn’t their fault.
Ill give you maybe Rodgers should have tossed it away, but number 76 falls over which leads to that hit. @@notadeadcatgorillagang3468
They were on him in a few seconds. How was that Aaron’s fault?
Thanks for the reminder! I made the same point about a week ago, but with all the noise I'd forgotten - and focused on Zak. Yep, with that O line, this team was in trouble with or without Rodgers.
@@johnfrei9057 Creaky in the sense that he's not a Spring chicken.
Damn I can watch Rich talk about the already impending doom of the Jets everyday this season 😂
Getting rid of Mike White was the worst decision. As for Rodgers in 2024, there is no guarantee he is coming back- something crazy will happen and he won't ever play for the Jets again. He will be 41 next December, and will be so rusty and tired.
Mike White has been injured more than Aaron Rodgers.
also, they had no money left- who'd knew landing a HoF QB would cost so much?
If there was anyone to put behind Rodgers, it was White.
Mike 2-6 White, who's thrown more INTs than TDs and had more injuries than wins? That Mike White?
The Jets are infinite content at this point, no matter how bad they are 😂
Jets, Buffaloes and Kelce & Taylor 🙄
Just proof we have the most loyal fanbase in pro sports. Jet Up! ✈️🔥
Jets catered too many wishes to one individual instead of working to get the best overall players and going after friend's of one particular player
You're telling me the diva who said he didn't have the players to win in GB...but he needs them in NY...you're telling me he's a delusional narcissist??
@@jbear4525
Most definitely
If they could run a team they wouldn't have been in that situation in the first place
If they make a trade for anyone it should be to make their o-line better.
What happens if the defense quits and the Chiefs put up their own 70-burger?
We're not the Broncos buddy. There will be no burgers.
@@courteo🤣🤣🤣
How about 37 to 3
@@courteo You’re the Jets. Jets crash spectacularly! Salah is not Sully!
Like i said, no 70 burgers over here. We still lost tho.
That grip at 2:54 is insane
Honestly Saleh has looked at all the QB options. He doesn't have much choice but to stick with Wilson for now anyway.
Very true. And the key part is for now. Noone is trading their QB or backup QB to the Jets to save their season.
@@eemmaaxxthey got nothing to trade even for a decent backup we are so fucked 😭
What are the other options?
Not a jets fan but Rich ain’t wrong about this. As it currently stands Wilson is the best bad option available. Tough spot the Jets are in
This week maybe. Next week they'll probably start Trevor.
Well, his teammates think he is not the best bad option, and I agree with them. You can get any random QB off the streets and he will almost certainly better than Wilson.
@@user-hs5vb6kc9o here’s why they won’t do that: any bum off the street would have to come in, take time to learn the system, then go out under huge pressure to win. Why do that when you can lose with a guy that you don’t have to get up to snuff? Wilson is really bad. But trust me they won’t do any better with Trevor Siemian or with anyone else that’s still available currently
@@erikgriffin1107
It doesn't matter, it just shows the rest of your roster and fans that you're trying to win. If your attitude is "why do it if you're gonna lose anyway?" then you might as well send everyone home and just forfeit your remaining schedule. Football is too hard and too dangerous of a game for a coach to be able to look a player in the eyes and ask him to play hard when you're showing him you're not interested in winning
@@user-hs5vb6kc9o I agree with that.
You know what's REALLY crazy about this situation?
We have no idea if the Jets are truly SB competitors with Rodgers either cuz of how quick he got hurt.
It's all assumptions being made about their ceiling with Rodgers.
So when he does return at 40 turning 41 next year can they TRULY compete for the SB???
I don't think the Jets can wait. If someone like Cousins is available they should pull the trigger & sort the offseason sh*t later...
"There's no bad ideas right now..." Actually, there's one bad idea: sticking with Zach after the KC game. We need to get Trevor Siemian up to speed by the Denver game.
From a lions fan, Tim Boyle is not the next Brock. Tim was awful with the lions. Zach is definitely the better option
His first three years in college, I believe he threw something like 1 TD and 13 INTs. In the NFL he has 8 INTs in 108 attempts.
He is only in the NFL because of Aaron Rodgers. Literally the only reason.
From what I saw of Boyle in preseason, I would have to agree. At least Zack can run effectively and make an occasional throw.
This is pitiful of The Jets management not getting a solid QB. They are wasting the year.
I believe Rich is spot on with his last point about management not wanting to alienate Rodgers
That's why Rodgers is forcing them to keep Zach as the QB cause he wants the team to be bad, so that when he returns next year he'll play the role of the hero. If a good QB takes over the Jets and makes it far, he knows the Jets won't take an injured 41 year old man back.
@sonikspeed19 the jets need AR alot more than he needs them. Wtf. 😂
The Jets backup plan was Rodgers ayahuasca buddy. $6+ billion franchise just handed to an old hippie
Spot on spot on
Hang in there Rich
3:27
Rich doing his best Obi-Wan Kenobi impression
Saleh is a great defensive coordinator, but so far he's been a bad head coach. The Jets have half a football team just like last year. Great defense, no offense. The plan was to make Aaron the whole offense, including the coaching part of it. Didn't work out and it's clear Saleh and his staff have no idea how to put together an offense themselves.
Clearly something’s wrong when they can only get 38 yards against the patriots with their RB group. How can you not have enough running plays to get more then 38.
Maybe put a running game first would help. Keep the defense off the field a little so they’re fresher. Run the damn ball. Set up the pass. Scheme for the guy you have not the guy you want to have.
Yes agree
Lol! You can hear so much pain when Rich talks about his Jets.
He needs to go full Brandon Perna with it....
“Go YOLO” 😂😂😂😂😂😅
I guess we are tanking for Caleb Williams
You ballsed that up as well. There’s no way the Bears are winning a game all year
@@garyhorne4380go ahead and kick us when we are down...we can be as bad as the bears for that top pick where is your confidence lol
@@QQ-gs8df You already got a win though. That Bills OT win will come back to haunt you.
@@garyhorne4380 LMAO that would be HILARIOUS if the Bills win (that they celebrated like it was the SB) would be the one to block them from getting #1 pick. Jets fans would be on suicide watch. It's bad it's almost sad.
You got to change the playbook, why hackett hasnt done so is beyond me, this playbook isn't working for Zach if the plan is to roll with Zach. Get some byu plays incorporated or something, try rolling him out , give him design run plays, use the speed that is on the team and let these guys go deep, play hardman and Gibson, you need to try something different
Robert Salah would’ve probably stood by General Custer before the Battle at Big Horn. “He’s a general, so he must know what he’s doing!”
"General Custer, don't let the negativity deter you. Block out all the noise, we'll work as a team, and we'll get it done."
All of us losing it in Jetland, just another Wednesday afternoon
I believe this is the "bargaining" phase
Coach is saying the right things
Tank for caleb williams
Saleh is going to make a great Patriot HC after Belichik retires.
That’s a great shot of Zack Wilson passing the football laces out! WTF?
Remember “Mark Sanchez is my quarterback” under Rex Ryan? Rex really put his foot in his mouth.
I'd never heard Rich sound so New Yorkian. It's like his natural accent can't help but come back when talking about the Jets.
The one thing that is blantently clear is that New York is not a viable situation for rookie QBs. It's a pressure cooker and very few QBs can handle that. The Jets fans in particular need success yesterday. That is a vet QB situation.
If most teams lost their qb1 then it would be devastating but im hoping everyone plays better Sunday night including Zach. Plugging in a new addition at this point is not easy either.
As a Jets fan, we cannot assume Rodgers coming back will put us where we’d be before his injury.
Get a decent QB by any means necessary, the future isn’t guaranteed.
All we know is this team is a QB away from a Super Bowl.
Disagree, you are an offensive line away from a deep playoff run. I was really looking forward to watching Rodgers giving up by week 11 as he he got sick of being lit up by defenders…it was going to be great theater.
@@Playlist-yz8deSooooo you don't remember when The bungals made it to the superbowl w/ an arguably worse offensive line I'm guessing? 🤔
@@mr.skellington5768yes…with a young, mobile, confident and accurate QB. Good luck finding one of those
@@GoldenFava ha!! Joe Burrow wasn't mobile dude.. the mf set a single season record for getting sacked 72 times, and I'll remind you again they still made it to the superbowl lol 😂😂
Look ik finding a young qb w/ similar talent isn't easy but the jets just need ANY qb w/ the RIGHT talent and mentality to win games.
They're not a bad team at all, they just have a shizzy qb who's costing them games by not delivering on offense 💯
In my heart of hearts, I believe this coming from Joe D and Woody, and directing their underling (Saleh) to say these things. Why are they keeping Wilson?…. It’s all about the Benjamins for Woody
Great stuff in this bit Rich. I think next year is sadly what they are thinking. Kick the can to next year, again. What if Aaron can't come back by no fault of his own? What if he injures something else? I disagree that Wentz was a better option, I feel like Douglas knows him and would have brought him in if he believed it would be positive. Something is up with that guy. Last but not least, I can't believe The Jets have to play the Chiefs on MNF without Rodgers. My only hope is that Murphy's law somehow applies to KC on Sunday Night. The sad thing is, I don't even want a win, I just don't want them to be embarrassed. I can take the embarrassment (after 30 years of fandom) but I don't know how long the guys in the locker room can. Another complete implosion could mean we lose some of these guys, if that happens, its really over.
I don’t even know how the Jets could survive to next season. If they continue to have a terrible year do you still keep these coaches, do the talented players really want to stick around to see if Rodgers can come back and stay healthy? Does Rodgers change his mind in the offseason? Are the fans going to be exited to try this again without some major changes?
It always surprises me Jets fans are more used to this.
Joe Namath and Zach Wilson have the same td-int ratio
This team passess WAY too often for the situation... if I was coaching the team we'd be running it on first, second, and half of third downs. POUND THE ROCK AND PLAY DEFENSE.
And every so often, every now and then, maybe once or twice per game dial up a high percentage/YAK oriented pass, get the ball out quick and let your play makers make plays!
I know it was like ½ snap into the first game before Rodgers went down, but with that atrocious O-line, there was no way he was finishing the season.
This feels like an owner calling the shots situation. There's no other reason the coaching staff wouldn't be bringing in every QB available.
Ding ding ding. Correct, Woody is the cancer
Not a Jets fan, but it doesn’t seem like they have a ton of choice at this point. They should have kept another good QB behind Rodgers but they didn’t. How many options are there now, they brought in Siemian, but who else is there that’s available today? Even if they found someone decent, they’ll need a little time to learn the system before they can put him under center
What are the options on QB ? The noise will only get worse if the losses continue.
All I know is coach saleh better not get fired during it after this season. This isn’t all on him.
Rich they are tanking for Williams. Zach will be gone and they wanna have the new QB have a red shirt year behind Rogers to learn. Unfortunately Zach is the best bet to the #1 pick
He just riding with Wilson till Aaron Rodgers can come back. Praying each and every single day. "God, let this season just end. Idc about anything anymore. Just give me my future guy Rodgers back, PUH-LEASE"
What about somebody like Drew Locke? Would he be an improvement?
I don't think Zach Wilson is good, but I also don't think he's this bad. I think he may actually have some validity in the comments about him trying to do too much. I'm sure everyone hating you and looking for any mistake you make creates a little bit of pressure (not that that's an excuse, that's why QBs get paid, but it is an explanation).
Recommend the JETS consider Kyle Trask. The 6'5" QB was a 2020 Heisman Trophy Nominee with M. Jones & T. Lawrence starting QBs in the NFL. K. Trask has the TD record at UF.
T.B. has not provided the nextgen QB an opportunity to start.
Give zack a couple of Xanax before every game. Sorry I couldn't resist. I actually feel really bad for poor kid. He has so much talent and can't get out of his head.
Rich is pushing a chain wanting the Jets to change their thinking. I think Joe Namath understands the reality of the Jets.
My whole thought was how can Kaepernick be any worse... I don't like what teams give up on players too quickly especially now with Geno Smith breaking that mold but I do not see Zac Wilson recovering from this one
I can't believe they let Mike White go
no one thinks Nathaniel Hackett has a part in this poor offense? I saw better plays in the school yard.
Rich - u nailed in your last scenario- still all in on Rodgers and do not want to rock the boat on his return- trade for legit big time QB would sacrifice the future completely and most likely squash any thought of Aaron’s return. Also, it’s obvious that the Oline in not ready to protect Aaron nor a playoff run. D might get u in but you can’t win if u can’t score in this league.
We have stunk for years bad drafting bad coaching and just bad luck
Joe Namath finished with more interceptions than touchdowns 10 seasons out of his 13 seasons as an NFL Qb. His highest completion percentage was 52.9%. Super Bowl be damned his career was aweful
It was a different era then.
Super Bowl be dammed. Really? One of the greatest sports events in New York history. Instead of digging up statistics, you had to have lived it. Sorry you feel that way.
@@michaelbirke6050
I lived in Buffalo and was 8 yrs old when Joe took the Jets to the promised land and upset the Colts.
Joe Namath was/is a hero to me.
Even my dad who had Bills season tickets from their first season until he died, loved and respected the way Joe Namath played the game.
I guess you didn't have to be in NYC, but yeah, you had to be "there".
When Namath played, the rules were different. DB's could mug the receiver all the way down the field as long as the ball wasn't in the air. That all changed in 1978(The Mel Blount Rule). Today's rules help the offense so games are higher scoring.
The sad part is that Jets don't even get a first round pick of these great QBs coming out and they'll easily be top 5 in the draft this year
It’s week 7, the offensive line has gelled. Top 15 in the league actually. Breece and cook are 1-2 punches going 150+ yards per game together. Zack hasn’t thrown an interception in 3 games with 6 TD passes.
Lay off the crak pipe? No. It takes the edge off some days. Those days turn into more days and I feel great. LFG jets Wilson future mvp with a Super Bowl in 2025.
Dude, your OC holds back good quarterbacks. Your team is toast no matter the quarterback. He would have singlehandedly prevented a Super Bowl berth had Rodgers stayed healthy.
Omg. You keep with Zach Wilson because you have no other option. The fans can cry as much as they want
Just run the ball on 1st, 2nd, & if its 3rd & long pass but just run 90% of the time and beat teams on D/ST. Andy Dalton would be good.
Yes, there is one bad idea. Starting Zach. Saleh needs to show backbone and tell his team "we are not going to put you through this torment. We will at least try another option."
I hope Rogers comes back and his coaching Zach can turn things around. For a guy like Saleh, I hope some miracle happens and Zach turns out like Maholmes so he can have the biggest "I told you so" moment
As a 4 decades Jets fan myself, Ive been booing the crap outta Zach n want him outta here! However, Id LOVE to be wrong and see exactly what your comment says will happen happen!! Please give me the "I told you so moment!!" Until then, This is Painful!!
Fire this coaching staff if it’s going to be like last year
Why blame Zach entirely and give the O Line a free pass? Jets fans would also do well to consider that Zach has actually won them a game this season-would they rather have Russell Wilson right now?
Zach isn’t bad. They need to use the Tom Brady approach when Drew Bledsoe got injured. (Dink and Donk) and run the ball. That’s what gave Tom Brady more confidence and not only gave him more confidence but also made the game more easier for him. I don’t understand why Hackett can’t switch to Zach abilities. Dink and Donk and run the ball. Then the bomb throw will be there. Tom Brady’s half career was on that and he was successful…
Tanking for a QB to sit behind Rodgers. Thinking about the future
Like... at this point what does Zach or the Jets have to lose... throw what EVER you can at the wall and see what's sticks
Why does Rich never mention that Tim Boyle backed Rodgers up for 3 seasons in Green Bay? He clearly has a grasp of the system and has also learned from the best. They talk about this guy like he's an inconvenience on the depth chart but he could be the guy.
If I remember correctly....and with all due respect....the jets loss to the patriots was caused by a Jet's defensive back getting fooled on the play which led to tight end Brown's score. I don't know what Zach had to do with that. If you want to fix what's broke, maybe get rid of the entire offensive line! Zach was pressured all day long!
Zach was awful, are you blind?
Its like the employee or manager we all work with that is awful but the owner refuses to get rid of them for some reason. Everyone can relate to this dumb situation.
Sign Flacoo , Wentz , And or trade for
Mariota , Rush , Foles , Matty Ice ,
Max Duggan , pj walker , the guy denver traded to seattle ....
Jeff Garcia is only in his 50s
Make a move or let your defense sit all year and play backups
If I was the Jets, the only one out of those that I'd trade for or hire is Cooper Rush. He did well with the Cowboys with a similar type of team, defensive focused with no turnovers. Plus Cowboys took Trey so might not need him. Everyone else on the list is either old, washed, or turnover prone. Mariotta is ok too I guess.
Why not just put Warren Beatty in if you’re going down ludicrous roads.
Address the OLINE
If Coach Saleh is coming to the studio, get Richard his knee-pads
I'm a Houston Texans fan, if I can go 3 seasons without hope Jets fans can deal with 1. Good Luck 😢
It seems so clear to me, keep Zach out there to add value to the first round pick they now have back. Draft a new QB to sit behind Arod next season or two. It's a Zach tank.
Aaron Rodgers is going to be 41 next season. It's insane to pin you future hopes on an aged QB who is going to be coming off a major injury. The best thing the Jets can do for their future is to tank this season and get in position to draft a QB in April.
Saleh is going down with the ship
Let Saleh alone. It’s his team. He gotta figure it out. Nobody really can help his team. This is his responsibility. I just hope he does the right thing.
One word it’s Tanking!!!!!! They should rest their premier players!
Rich they're talking about benching him during a game and then you can start again that happens all the time give the other guy a chance if he's doing terrible in the game
What else is he going to say?
Jets are great
Only thing to do. Is to ride it out with Wilson off season is when to start over. Fire Saleh. Hire Ben Johnson. Lions OC as the next head coach. Draft Drake Maye .
